The story in short
यह द्वितीय परिशिष्ट (परिशिष्टम् २) क्रियापदों के रूप (धातुरूप/लकार) तथा सन्धि का सन्दर्भ-संग्रह है। पाठ बताता है कि संस्कृत में लगभग दो हजार धातु हैं, जिनमें "तिङ्" प्रत्यय जोड़ने पर तिङन्त (लकार) बनते हैं। धातु तीन प्रकार के होते हैं — परस्मैपदी, आत्मनेपदी तथा उभयपदी। परिशिष्ट में परस्मैपदी धातु (पठ्, लिख्, अस्, कृ, श्रु, दा, ज्ञा, क्री) तथा आत्मनेपदी धातु (भाष्, यत्) के चार प्रमुख लकारों — लट् (वर्तमान), लृट् (भविष्यत्), लङ् (भूत), लोट् (आज्ञा/प्रार्थना) तथा विधिलिङ् (विधि/प्रार्थना) — के तीनों पुरुषों एवं तीनों वचनों के रूप तालिका-रूप में दिए गए हैं। पाठ के अन्त में "अधिकं जानीमः" खण्ड में सन्धि का सामान्य परिचय है — संहिता तथा सन्धि की परिभाषा, और तीन प्रमुख सन्धि (स्वरसन्धि, व्यञ्जनसन्धि, विसर्गसन्धि)। स्वरसन्धि के सात भेदों में से चार — सवर्णदीर्घ (अ+अ=आ, इ+इ=ई), गुण (अ+इ=ए, अ+उ=ओ, अ+ऋ=अर्), वृद्धि (अ+ए=ऐ, अ+ओ=औ) तथा यण् (इ+अ=य्, उ+अ=व्) — उदाहरण-सहित समझाए गए हैं।
