Deepak grew up in Darbhanga, Bihar, prepared for JEE through Bansal Classes, and cleared JEE Advanced before completing his B.Tech in Mining Engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi (2005–2009). He then spent more than nine years at Steel Authority of India Limited, rising to Deputy Manager, before completing his MBA at IIM Ahmedabad in 2020. After working as a Project Manager at the National Institute for Smart Government, he joined Accenture Strategy & Consulting in 2021 and is now a Manager in Management Consulting.
