SSC CGL Cut-off 2025 and 2024: Tier-I Lists and Final Post-wise Marks

Checked 26 September 2026. From SSC’s CGLE 2024 and 2025 Tier-I result write-ups (with the 17.01.2025 revision and the 14.01.2026 corrigendum) and final-result write-ups (12.03.2025, 14.05.2026). 2023 figures are reported only — SSC’s 2023 write-ups were unreachable.

An SSC CGL “cut-off” is two different things. The Tier-I cut-off is the normalised Tier-I mark of the last candidate shortlisted for Tier-II, printed for each category in three separate lists. The final cut-off is the Tier-II mark of the last candidate selected for each post and category — and because posts are filled by merit and preference, there are as many final cut-offs as there are posts. This guide sets out both from SSC’s own write-ups for 2024 and 2025, flags what is only reported for 2023, and lets you compare a Tier-II score with each post’s last-selected mark.

Where other pages get this wrong

The 2025 “all other posts” Tier-I UR cut-off is 136.40215 with 20,723 UR candidates, after SSC’s corrigendum of 14.01.2026.

Commonly published instead: 136.83159 and 20,035 — the figures printed in the original result write-up of 18.12.2025.

SSC corrigendum to the CGLE 2025 Tier-I result (14.01.2026): the List-3 table had an “inadvertent error”; the lists themselves were unchanged.

*2023 reported, not from SSC. 2024–2025: SSC write-ups, rounded to two decimals.

The 2025 drop of about 16.6 marks for UR (our arithmetic) came in the first CGL Tier-I that SSC normalised by its June 2025 procedure, in a sitting moved from August to 12–26 September 2025 (notice of 03.09.2025) and partly re-held on 14 October 2025 for candidates hit by technical disruption. Several things changed at once, so the drop cannot be pinned on any one of them — and it is not a guide to 2026, which adds sectional timers and a month-long exam window (CGLE 2026 notice; schedule notice of 12.09.2026). The shortlist sizes are steadier: 1,65,849 on this list in 2024 after the January revision, 1,31,027 in 2025.

SSC CGLE 2025 and 2024 Tier-I result write-ups, Lists 1 and 2 (cut-off, with the number shortlisted in brackets). PwBD and ESM rows are in the write-ups. Candidates on these lists sit Paper-II as well as Paper-I; in 2026 a third list is added for AAO/AAcO (Paper-III).

The statistics lists close higher than the general list — 17 marks higher for UR in 2025 — but they are far shorter. On our arithmetic, 2025 shortlisted about 25 JSO candidates per JSO vacancy and 24 per SI vacancy, against about 9 per vacancy on the general list; 2024 was about 25, 33 and 10. A high cut-off with a long queue per seat is the price of a post that adds a 200-mark paper to the merit.

Our arithmetic from SSC’s shortlist totals and the vacancy split in the final-result write-ups (2025: JSO 249, SI 118, others 14,751; 2024: JSO 725, SI 85, others 17,364 by subtraction from 18,174).

Final cut-offs: the last-selected mark, post by post

The table below is the part of the result most candidates are really asking about. For each post it gives the Tier-II mark of the last candidate SSC selected in each of the five main categories. Read it with two cautions. First, a post’s mark reflects how candidates ranked it as much as how hard it was to get: a post many people prefer fills with higher scorers. Second, the 2024 marks carry five decimals and the 2025 marks are whole or half numbers — consistent with 2024 Tier-II being normalised across sittings and 2025 being a single sitting, though SSC does not say so. The ranks of the posts are the stable signal; the absolute numbers moved by 25–30 marks.

Our extraction from the post × category tables in SSC’s CGLE 2024 (12.03.2025) and CGLE 2025 (14.05.2026) final-result write-ups; 2024 rounded to two decimals. “—” = no seat or no row for that category. Accountant/Junior Accountant is CGA in 2024 and C&AG in 2025 (different departments, so compare with care). Dates of birth printed in SSC’s tables are deliberately not reproduced.

Which posts would my Tier-II score have reached?

Historical only: the marks of the last candidate selected for each post and category in SSC’s CGLE 2024 (12.03.2025) and CGLE 2025 (14.05.2026) final results — our extraction from SSC’s tables. Preference order, not just marks, decides the post you get, and 2024 and 2025 marks are on different footings (see the article). Statistics posts (out of 590) and ESM/PwBD categories are excluded.

Our calculation over every non-statistics post code in SSC’s final-result tables (Section-I + Section-II, out of 390) — including small posts not in the 27-row table above, which is why a maximum here (e.g. 2024 UR 369.47) can exceed every row in that table. The lookup tool covers the five vertical categories only; ESM and PwBD last-selected marks are post-specific and summarised here.

The Tier-II shortlist bar for skill tests (2024)

In 2024 SSC also printed the Section-I + Section-II marks above which it evaluated the Computer Knowledge Test and DEST — in effect a Tier-II cut-off: UR 322.77, OBC 306.28, EWS 300.04, SC 285.46, ST 266.50, with 88,051 candidates. In 2025 it evaluated everyone above the qualifying floors instead (UR 54 and 63 in the two sections, OBC/EWS 45 and 52.5, others 36 and 42).

Practise it, don't just read it

Final cut-offs are Tier-II marks, and English (45 questions, 135 marks) is the largest single part of Section-II. The SSC CGL reading-comprehension quizzes target it.

The ProSyllabus SSC CGL library has topic quizzes on reading comprehension and on the Paper-II statistics topics — index numbers, time series, analysis of variance and statistical inference — the first quiz is free.

Yes — the final-result write-up has the last-selected marks for each post and category.

Are Tier-I marks part of the SSC CGL final cut-off?

No — final cut-offs are Tier-II marks (Section-I + II, plus Paper-II/III where it applies).

How many were shortlisted for SSC CGL 2025 Tier-II?
