Checked 29 September 2026. Mains minimum/maximum scores are OFFICIAL (IBPS provisional allotment notice of 15.03.2026, Annexure B). Prelims cut-offs are REPORTED (Oliveboard, updated 22 Sep 2026; PW): IBPS shows those only inside the candidate login. Pattern and seats are official (CRP RRBs-XV and XIV notifications).
There are two kinds of RRB Office Assistant cut-off, and they have different standing. The Mains figures are official: with the provisional allotment of 15 March 2026, IBPS published Annexure B, the minimum and maximum Mains scores (out of 100) of allotted candidates for every State and category, plus the reserve-list minimums. The Prelims cut-offs are not on IBPS’s website: a candidate sees their own State and category on the scorecard inside the login, and coaching sites collect those into State tables. Those numbers are reported, and we say where each comes from. Read them inside the official frame — marks, seats and the rule that sets the cut-off — and they become useful; read them outside it and they mislead.
Prelims figures reported: Oliveboard, updated 22 Sep 2026. Official: CRP RRBs-XV notification (80 marks); IBPS allotment notice 15.03.2026, Annexure B.
Where other pages get this wrong
RRB Office Assistant Prelims cut-offs are out of 80 marks.
Commonly published instead: Prelims cut-off tables labelled “out of 100” (PW’s IBPS RRB Clerk cut-off page, 16 Mar 2026).
The Office Assistant Preliminary has 80 questions for 80 marks — Reasoning 40 and Numerical Ability 40 (CRP RRBs-XIV and XV notifications). A 71.25 is 71.25 out of 80, about 89 per cent (our arithmetic).
How IBPS sets the cut-off
The notification describes the process, not the number. In the Preliminary, a candidate must “qualify in both the tests by securing minimum cut-off marks”, and then an adequate number of candidates in each category is shortlisted for the Mains “depending upon requirements”. In the Mains, each candidate must obtain “a minimum score in each test”, and candidates are then shortlisted according to the vacancies in each State. So there are really two layers: a floor in every test, which nobody outside IBPS sees, and the State-and-category cut that falls wherever the vacancies run out.
| Stage | Out of | Rule | Published |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prelims | 80 (Reasoning 40 + Numerical 40) | Minimum in both tests, then category-wise shortlisting | Candidate login only (public tables are reported) |
| Mains | 200 marks in the paper; IBPS states allotment scores “out of 100” | Minimum in each test, then State vacancies | State-wise minimum and maximum in the allotment notice (Annexure B) |
| Final | Mains only | Merit within State and category; allotment on reported vacancies; tie to the older candidate | Provisional allotment notice and list |
Rules: CRP RRBs-XV notification clauses D, F and G (official). “Out of 100”: IBPS’s own heading in Annexure B of the allotment notice dated 15.03.2026 (official). The notice does not explain how the 200-mark paper maps to that scale.
2025 prelims cut-off by State (General, reported)
These are the cut-offs from the CRP RRBs-XIV Preliminary held in December 2025, for General candidates, as collected by Oliveboard. Meghalaya and Puducherry have no reported figure. We print this cycle’s and last cycle’s seats beside each State, because the cut-off is a product of those seats.

Cut-offs: reported (Oliveboard, IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims cut-off table, updated 22 Sep 2026). Oliveboard also reports West Bengal OBC 75, Bihar OBC 71.25, Chhattisgarh OBC 63.75 and Madhya Pradesh EWS 69.25. Seats: official (Annexure I as on 25.09.2026; CRP RRBs-XIV as on 27.09.2025).
One conflict to note: Oliveboard’s State table gives Tamil Nadu 62.25 for 2025, while the 2025 column of its own trend table gives 62.50. PW gives 62.25. We print 62.25 in the table above and 62.50 in the trend table, as each source has it; neither can be checked against IBPS.
Reported (Oliveboard). The spread between States is 29 marks out of 80 (our arithmetic), which is why a national “RRB Clerk cut-off” does not exist.
2020–2025: the trend, and where it broke
Oliveboard’s trend table covers 22 States for six cycles. A dash means no figure was reported for that year. Two patterns stand out. Several States sat in the mid-70s for years and stayed there — Punjab, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh. Others swung by 20 marks from one year to the next: West Bengal went from 77.75 in 2020 to 56.50 in 2021 and back to 77.50 in 2024; Uttar Pradesh fell to 53.75 in 2023 and rose to 69.75 in 2024. A cut-off that moves that far is responding to seats and paper difficulty, not to a rising standard.

Reported (Oliveboard, IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims cut-off trends, General, out of 80). “—” = not reported. The 2020 to 2024 cycles used the older composite-time pattern; sectional timing began with the 2025 cycle (official: CRP RRBs-XIII and XIV notifications).
Reported (Oliveboard). Rajasthan’s 2025 fall to 64.25 came in the year its seats rose to 1,725; in 2026 its seats are 225 (official).
Rajasthan is the sharpest example of why a trend is not a forecast. In 2025 it had 1,725 Office Assistant seats — more than any State — and its reported General cut-off fell to 64.25, its lowest in the six years. In 2026 it has 225 seats. Andhra Pradesh moved the other way, from 150 seats to 900. Changes that large make the previous cut-off less transferable, but seats alone do not settle which way the next one moves: applicant numbers, category mix, paper difficulty and normalisation all matter, and none of those is published for 2026. We do not predict the 2026 numbers.
Your mock score against last year’s reported prelims cut-off
Reported General prelims cut-offs (Oliveboard; not published by IBPS). The range uses the 2020–2025 trend where it is reported. Vacancies changed sharply for 2026, and each test also has its own minimum that the notification does not publish, so a gap is a direction, not a forecast.
2025–26 Mains scores by State and category (official)
With the CRP RRBs-XIV provisional allotment of 15 March 2026, IBPS published Annexure B: for every State/UT and category, the maximum and minimum Online Main Examination scores (out of 100) of candidates provisionally allotted, and a separate table of minimum scores for the reserve list. The table below prints all 28 States from that annexure — the minimum for each category, the highest and lowest UR (General) score, the spread between them (our subtraction) and the UR reserve-list minimum. “—” is IBPS’s “NA”: no vacancy, no candidate available, or included in a horizontal category. That is why Haryana, Punjab and Puducherry show no ST figure and the North-Eastern States no SC figure.

Official: IBPS, CRP RRBs-XIV Office Assistants (Multipurpose), notice of provisional allotment dated 15.03.2026, Annexure B (maximum and minimum scores for provisional allotment; minimum scores for the reserve list). The annexure also prints PwBD, ex-servicemen and DESM columns and, beside each minimum, the date of birth used for ties — not reproduced here. Spread: our arithmetic. Oliveboard’s 20-State version of the same table matches these figures.
Two notes on the Mains table. First, the UR minimum ranged from 49.03 (Mizoram) to 64.03 (Puducherry), and the gap between the lowest and highest allotted UR score ranged from 1.44 points (Puducherry) to 14.71 (Haryana) (our arithmetic). A minimum and a maximum do not show how the candidates in between are spread, so the table cannot tell you how many ranks a mark is worth. Second, older Mains tables circulate with the headings swapped: Oliveboard’s own 2024 table is headed “Maximum Scores” yet its values (for example Andhra Pradesh UR 64.69) behave like cut-offs, and PW prints the same numbers as the 2024 cut-off. We did not find the 2024 allotment annexure on IBPS’s site, so we use only the 2025–26 table above.
Dates behind these numbers
Only two of the CRP RRBs-XIV dates below come from IBPS documents: the registration window and the provisional allotment notice of 15.03.2026. IBPS’s XIV cycle page no longer lists the Office Assistant result items, so the others are reported.

| Prelims result | 23 Jan 2026 (Karmasandhan); scorecard 29 Jan 2026 (PW). ResultBharat lists 19 Dec 2025, which no other source supports | Reported |

Where other pages get this wrong
The 2025 Office Assistant Prelims was held in December 2025 and the Mains on 1 February 2026 (reported).
Commonly published instead: “30 August, 6 and 7 September 2025” for the 2025 Prelims and “9 November 2025” for the Mains (Embibe’s Office Assistant cut-off page).
The CRP RRBs-XIV notification only opened registration on 01.09.2025 (official), so a Prelims in August or early September 2025 is impossible. Embibe also heads the pattern’s maximum marks as “Minimum Marks”.
How to use a reported cut-off
Use it as a floor for your mocks, not a target. If your State’s last three reported General cut-offs sit between 70 and 76 out of 80, a mock net score in the low 60s tells you the gap is real. Check your State’s 2026 seats against 2025 as well: a large change means last year’s number transfers less well, in either direction. And remember the hidden layer: each test has its own minimum. A 72 made of 40 in Reasoning and 32 in Numerical still fails if the Numerical minimum is above 32 — the Prelims tests are 40 marks each, and IBPS does not publish the sectional minimums.
For the Mains, the practical numbers are your State’s UR (or category) minimum and the reserve-list minimum below it — both official. In 17 of the 28 States the whole allotted UR group sat within ten points of the minimum (our count from Annexure B), so every test counts, including the 20-mark Computer Knowledge test.
Is the RRB Clerk prelims cut-off out of 80 or 100?
Out of 80. The Office Assistant Preliminary has 80 questions for 80 marks.
Does IBPS publish RRB Office Assistant cut-offs?
For the Mains, yes: the provisional allotment notice of 15.03.2026 has State-wise minimum and maximum scores (Annexure B). Prelims cut-offs appear only inside the candidate login, so public Prelims tables are reported.
What was the 2025 RRB Clerk prelims cut-off for UP?
71.75 for General, as reported by Oliveboard.
Which State had the highest RRB Clerk cut-off in 2025?
Punjab at 77.5 General, as reported, followed by West Bengal at 77.
Why was Rajasthan’s 2025 cut-off low?
Rajasthan had 1,725 seats in 2025, the most of any State. In 2026 it has 225.
What is the RRB Clerk mains cut-off for General?
For the 2025–26 cycle, IBPS’s Annexure B gives minimum UR scores from 49.03 (Mizoram) to 64.03 (Puducherry), out of 100; among the large States, from 57.38 (Chhattisgarh) to 63.82 (Tamil Nadu).
Are there sectional cut-offs in RRB Office Assistant?
Yes. The notification requires a minimum in each test at both stages; IBPS does not publish those minimums in advance.
Can I predict my State’s 2026 cut-off?
Not reliably. Seats changed sharply in many States, and past figures are reported rather than official.
Are the Mains scores normalised?
Yes, across sessions, by an equi-percentile method, according to the notification.
Why are Meghalaya and Puducherry missing?
No 2025 prelims figure is reported for them in the source we used.
