TS CPGET 2027 Preparation Plan: Timeline, Weightage and a 16-Week Schedule

Checked 25 September 2026. No 2027 schedule has been announced. Past dates are from the 2026 activity schedule and the 2025 brochure; weightage from the 2026 syllabus PDFs.

The 2027 TG CPGET has not been notified. What we do know is how the last two cycles ran, how each test's syllabus divides its 100 marks, and the rules of the paper — 100 questions, 90 minutes, no negative marking. That is enough to plan from now, and a plan that starts in March rather than in the application window in May or June buys the extra weeks that decide ranks in the tens.

The conducting university changes. In 2026 it was Kakatiya University, not Osmania.

  • TGCHE assigns the test to a university each year. Osmania University's Directorate of Admissions ran both the exam and counselling in 2025; in 2026 Kakatiya University conducted the exam, while the Directorate of Admissions at OU still ran counselling. Follow the official exam portal, cpget.tgche.ac.in, not a university page from a previous year.

2026 ran four to five weeks earlier than 2025 at every stage. Nothing guarantees 2027 follows either, so the planner below lets you set your own target date; the safest assumption is a test in July, which means the months before it — March to June — are the preparation window.

Plan your hours by the marks

Your CPGET hours, by the syllabus

Pick your test, the date you are aiming for and your weekly hours. The planner counts the weeks from today and splits your hours by the marks each unit carries in the 2026 syllabus.

8 July 2027 is only a placeholder: the 2026 test began on 8 July and the 2025 test on 4 August. Change it when the 2027 schedule is out.

TestHow the 100 marks divide
MathematicsFive units × 20
Computer ScienceC 15, C++ 18, data structures 17, DBMS 20, Java 15, web technologies 15
M.ComTen units × 10
EconomicsMicro, macro, Indian economy 20 each; four papers × 10
Political SciencePart A 30, Part B 40, Part C 30
English, History, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, SociologyPart A 40, Part B 60
Physics, Statistics, Data ScienceNo marks printed per section

A 16-week schedule (March to June)

WeeksWhat to do
1–2Download the syllabus PDF for your test. Take one full-length mock under 90 minutes to find your baseline. List units by marks, heaviest first.
3–8Cover the heaviest units in order (for M.Com, the four Part-A accounting and law units; for Computer Science, DBMS and the programming units). One topic quiz after each unit.
9–11Cover the remaining units. Start a weekly timed mock.
12Application window (May–June in 2026): apply, and decide on a second test if the timetable allows.
13–15Two mocks a week. Revise from your mistakes, not from the textbook.
16Light revision; download the hall ticket; plan the journey to your test zone.

Rules that shape how you practise

  • Answer everything. There is no negative marking, so an unanswered question is the only certain zero.
  • Practise at 54 seconds a question. 100 questions in 90 minutes leaves no time to derive from first principles.
  • Expect varied item types — the pattern allows analogies, classification, matching and comprehension as well as plain multiple choice.
  • Ranks are per test. You compete only with candidates of your subject.

From the 2026 examination pattern and brochure.

Subject by subject: where the marks are

TestApproach
MathematicsFive 20-mark units. Linear algebra and calculus reward speed drills; real analysis and algebra reward knowing definitions and standard counter-examples well enough to spot them in an option.
Computer ScienceDBMS (20) first — SQL, normalisation, transactions. Then output-prediction practice in C and C++: most programming questions are "what does this print".
M.ComTen equal units. Keep accounts problems short and exam-style; give income tax and GST their own weeks because rules, not reasoning, decide those questions.
EconomicsMicro, macro and the Indian economy are 60 marks. The Indian economy unit moves with budgets and surveys — revise from a recent source.
EnglishPart A grammar and vocabulary is 40 marks of trainable skill. Part B needs a chronology of English literature and authors with their works.
ChemistryOne test for every specialisation: Part A (40) and Part B (60) both mix inorganic, organic and physical topics.
PhysicsSix sections, no weights printed. Modern physics and electronics tend to be the closest to recall; mechanics and electromagnetism need timed numerical practice.
Life sciences (72, 73)Chemistry is 40 marks of both tests — do not leave it to the end because it is not your specialisation.

These approaches follow from how each syllabus distributes its marks. They are not claims about how often a topic has been asked — no official record of past papers exists to count from.

The week of the test

  • Download the hall ticket as soon as it is released (4 July in 2026) and check your test code, test zone and shift.
  • Take one last full mock at the same time of day as your shift — 9:30, 13:00 or 16:30 in 2026.
  • Keep a list of the questions you doubted, for the answer-key objection window that follows.
  • Have your degree certificates ready: counselling registration followed within weeks of the result in 2026.

Dates and shift times from the 2026 activity schedule and examination schedule.

Previous papers: what exists

There is no official archive. The brochure says the question paper and key are shown on the website for the objection window and then removed. The only official practice material is the two mock tests linked from the exam portal. Third-party sites circulate papers from earlier years; they may be useful, but they are not verified, and the syllabus they were set on may differ from the current one — check each paper against the syllabus PDF for your test before relying on it.

Applying for more than one test

ItemFee (2026)
First test₹800 (OC/BC); ₹600 (SC/ST/PH)
Each additional test₹450
Late fee₹500, then ₹2,000
Answer-key objection₹200 per objection, refunded if upheld

A second test widens your options — a B.Sc Physics–Chemistry graduate can write both Chemistry and the combined life-science test 72 (Part B in Physics) for Biochemistry and Forensic Science. But check the timetable: in 2026 Chemistry and Computer Science ran on the same day in different shifts, while History and Chemistry shared the morning slot.

Practise it, don't just read it

Start with one topic quiz in your weakest unit — it is the quickest way to see where your hours should go.

The ProSyllabus TS CPGET library has topic quizzes for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Commerce, Economics, English, History, Political Science and Sociology. Each question comes with an explanation.

When is TS CPGET 2027?

Not yet announced. In 2026 the test ran 8–16 July after applications from 15 May to 15 June; in 2025 it ran 4–11 August (reported). Plan for a July test and check cpget.tgche.ac.in for the 2027 notification.

How should I prepare for TS CPGET?

Start from your test's syllabus PDF, split your hours by the marks each unit carries where they are printed, practise at about 54 seconds a question, and answer every question on the day because there is no negative marking.

Are TS CPGET previous papers available officially?

No. The brochure says the question paper and key are removed after the objection window. The exam portal links two official mock tests; third-party collections exist but are unverified.

Which university conducts TS CPGET?

It changes. Kakatiya University conducted the 2026 test for TGCHE; Osmania University conducted it in 2025. Counselling is run by the Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University.

How many months are needed to prepare for CPGET?

That depends on your base, but a 16-week plan from March leaves time to cover every unit and take weekly timed mocks before a July test.

What is the syllabus for TS CPGET?

Each of the 44 tests has its own syllabus PDF on the exam portal's syllabus page. Some print marks per unit (Mathematics, Computer Science, M.Com, Economics), some only a Part A / Part B split, and some none.

Is TS CPGET hard?

Qualifying is not: 93.54% of candidates who appeared in 2026 qualified (reported). A good seat is: open seats at the OU campus closed at ranks in the tens for most courses in 2026 Phase 1, according to our reading of the official allotment list (see our closing-rank guides).

What is the TS CPGET application fee?

In 2026, ₹800 for OC and BC candidates and ₹600 for SC, ST and PH candidates, plus ₹450 for each additional test, with late fees of ₹500 and then ₹2,000.

Where are the official TS CPGET mock tests?

The exam portal, cpget.tgche.ac.in, links two official mock tests. They are the only official practice material; past papers are not archived officially.

Can I write two tests in TS CPGET?

Yes. The first test costs ₹800 (₹600 for SC, ST and PH) and each additional test ₹450. Check the timetable for clashes first.
