Checked 25 September 2026. From the Phase-1 counselling notification and Press Note No. 25 (21 Sep 2026). The Directorate of Admissions can revise dates; check cpgetadmissions.com before each step.
TG CPGET counselling is run by the Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University, for all nine participating universities, on cpgetadmissions.com — a different site from the exam portal. Phase 1 has finished; Phase 2 is under way. This page sets out its dates, what you must do at each step, and the money involved, from the official notifications.
Your Phase-1 options do not carry over.
- Phase-2 registration (22–26 Sep) is for candidates who did not register in Phase 1. For everyone taking part in Phase 2, the Phase-1 notification is explicit that options must be exercised afresh in each phase: a list made in September is not used again in October.
Press Note No. 25, Directorate of Admissions, OU, 21 Sep 2026.

M.Ed and M.P.Ed admissions have a separate notification on the admissions portal. The special-category certificate verification (NCC, CAP, PwD, and the teacher and lab-assistant category) was held in person at the Directorate in September.
What happened in Phase 1
Reported by Telangana Today (Phase-1 allotment and results coverage). 42,526 candidates had qualified in the entrance test.
The headline is how many qualified candidates never exercised an option: 42,526 qualified, but only 23,122 filled options, and 17,586 seats were allotted, leaving 29,651 vacant. Women exercised 16,306 of the options and were allotted 13,125 seats; men exercised 6,816 and were allotted 4,461 (reported). For most tests, then, seats remained after Phase 1 — the sharper question for a qualified candidate is which college and course their rank reaches. Our closing-rank pages for M.Sc and M.A. and M.Com show where Phase-1 ranks landed.
How options and allotment work
The rules that matter
- Options are per phase. You list colleges and courses in order of preference; the allotment gives you the highest one your rank and category reach.
- Only what you list can be allotted. A seat that closed beyond your rank was reachable only by candidates who had listed it.
- Phase 1 reporting was online (paying the fee counted as self-reporting). Phase 2 reporting is physical and mandatory, with originals.
- A course may be cancelled if fewer than 10 candidates give options for it in the second phase (Phase-1 notification). Listing a rarely chosen course carries that risk.
- Processing fee: ₹250, or ₹200 for SC/ST, non-refundable.

A worked option list
Suppose a BC-B candidate has Chemistry rank 150 and wants Organic Chemistry most, then a Hyderabad college. The 2026 Phase-1 BC-B closing ranks (general seats) show what such a list could look like — and why listing a seat you might not reach costs nothing, provided it is a seat you would genuinely join. The allotment gives you the highest option your rank reaches.
| Order | Seat | BC-B closed at (2026 P1) | Rank 150 in 2026? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | OU campus · Organic · regular | 19 | No — listed only in case Phase 2 moves a long way |
| 2 | Saifabad · Organic · regular | 118 | No, but close |
| 3 | Saifabad · Organic · self-finance | 203 | Yes |
| 4 | OU campus · Physical · regular | 173 | Yes |
| 5 | Nizam College · Inorganic · regular | 177 | Yes |
| 6 | KU campus · Organic · regular | 231 | Yes |
With this order, the candidate would have been allotted the Saifabad self-finance Organic seat in Phase 1 — their third choice — even though three later options were also within reach. Two lessons follow. The order of options decides the outcome as much as the rank does, so put seats in the order you would actually choose between them, fee and hostel included. And a seat just beyond your rank belongs above the safe ones, not below, because it may come within reach when unreported seats re-open.
Documents to upload
| Document | Note |
|---|---|
| TG CPGET 2026 rank card | The rank is per test |
| Degree provisional or original certificate, and consolidated marks memo | A degree from another state's university needs an OU equivalency certificate |
| Intermediate and SSC certificates | |
| Study (bonafide) certificates from Class I to degree | Used to decide local status |
| Residence certificate | Where the study certificates do not establish local status |
| Transfer certificate | The original TC is submitted at the college with the joining report |
| Integrated community certificate | Issued after 02.06.2014 |
| EWS certificate for 2026-27 | OC candidates claiming EWS |
| Income certificate | Issued on or after 01.04.2026, for fee reimbursement |
| Minority proof, Aadhaar | Where applicable |
An open or distance-learning degree must be recognised by the UGC/AICTE/DEB joint committee. Upload clear scans; the verified list on 27 September is the point at which errors can still be corrected by e-mail.

Cancelling a seat: what you get back

|---|---|
| After the first phase (before the final phase) | Full |
| After the final phase, before the cut-off date on the allotment order | 50% forfeited |
| After that cut-off date | 100% forfeited |
From the Phase-1 notification. The practical consequence: a Phase-2 seat you take and then leave for another admission costs half its fee or all of it. Decide before you report.
Fee reimbursement and scholarships
Who is eligible
- Reimbursement follows G.O.Ms. Nos. 08 & 09 dated 06-06-2026 (Scheduled Castes Development Department), as cited in the notification.
- Age limit for a scholarship: 30 years for EBC, minority and disabled candidates, 34 for others, as on 01-07-2026.
- Only for a candidate doing a PG for the first time. Someone who already holds a PG gets no scholarship and no hostel.
- The income certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2026.

Special cases
| Situation | What the notification requires |
|---|---|
| Degree from a university outside Telangana | An equivalency certificate from Osmania University |
| Open or distance-learning degree | Recognition by the UGC/AICTE/DEB joint committee; a single-subject distance degree is not eligible |
| Schooled and educated entirely outside Telangana | Eligible only for NIQ seats at campus and constituent colleges |
| Already hold a PG degree | No fee reimbursement and no hostel; cannot be admitted to a course already completed |
| M.Ed or M.P.Ed | A separate admission notification on the same portal |
| NCC, CAP, PwD or in-service teacher / lab assistant | In-person certificate verification at the Directorate (held in September 2026) |
Each of these is a place where a candidate can be verified out of a seat they were allotted. If one applies to you, have the certificate in hand before reporting rather than after.
Practise it, don't just read it
If you are already thinking about next year's attempt, the paper is 100 questions in 90 minutes with no negative marking.
The ProSyllabus TS CPGET library has topic quizzes for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Commerce, Economics, English, History, Political Science and Sociology. Each question comes with an explanation.
When is TS CPGET Phase 2 counselling in 2026?
Registration for candidates not registered in Phase 1 runs 22–26 September 2026, web options 28–30 September with editing on 1 October, provisional allotment on 5 October, and reporting at the college by 9 October (Press Note No. 25, 21 September 2026).
Do I need to register again for Phase 2?
The Phase-2 registration window (22–26 September 2026) is for candidates who did not register in Phase 1. Web options, however, are taken afresh in each phase, so anyone taking part in Phase 2 must fill them again.
Is physical reporting required in TS CPGET Phase 2?
Yes. In Phase 1, paying the fee online counted as self-reporting; in the second phase, reporting at the allotted college with original certificates and the tuition-fee receipt is mandatory.
What is the TS CPGET counselling fee?
The processing fee is ₹250, or ₹200 for SC and ST candidates, and it is not refundable. Tuition is separate and depends on the college and seat type.
How many seats were vacant after TS CPGET Phase 1 in 2026?
29,651 of 47,237 convener-quota seats, as reported by Telangana Today; 17,586 seats were allotted and 23,122 candidates exercised options.
Will I get my fee back if I cancel my CPGET seat?
The notification gives a full tuition refund if you cancel after the first phase, forfeits 50% after the final phase before the cut-off date on the allotment order, and forfeits 100% after that date.
Is hostel available for self-finance seats?
No. The brochure excludes self-finance and payment seats, NIQ seats, evening courses and candidates who already hold a PG from hostel accommodation.
How should I order my TS CPGET web options?
In the order you would genuinely choose between the seats, fee and hostel included. The allotment gives you the highest option your rank reaches, so a seat slightly beyond your rank belongs above safer choices, not below them.
What documents are needed for TS CPGET counselling?
The rank card, degree certificate and marks memo, Intermediate and SSC certificates, study certificates from Class I to the degree, a transfer certificate, an integrated community certificate issued after 02.06.2014, an EWS certificate for 2026-27 where claimed, an income certificate issued on or after 01.04.2026, and Aadhaar.
Who runs TS CPGET counselling?
The Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University, on cpgetadmissions.com, for all participating universities. The 2026 entrance test itself was conducted by Kakatiya University for TGCHE.
