None of the numeric rows in this table is a MoHAP publication. The blueprint totals 150 items, which is internally consistent, but treat both the cut scores and the AED 2,060 breakdown as reported figures. The one point every source agrees on is the geography: this licence is for the northern emirates.

There is no examination season for this licence, so nothing in this table is a public calendar entry. The dates that bind are the ones your own file creates, above all the verification turnaround and the expiry of the eligibility certificate.

The commonest error is choosing MoHAP because the exam is reported to have the lowest cut score, without checking where the job is. This licence does not cover Dubai or Abu Dhabi, and an offer in either emirate means starting a fresh file with a different regulator. The second error is treating a pass as a licence: an approved facility must activate it before anyone works.

Pick the regulator from the employer, not the pass mark

eNursing Portal states the MoHAP licence permits practice in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain, and NurseHub GCC describes MoHAP as covering the northern emirates while DHA covers Dubai and DOH covers Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, with each licence jurisdiction-specific and not automatically transferable. The reported 50 per cent registered-nurse threshold is lower than the 60 to 70 per cent band NurseHub GCC describes for UAE practice generally, and that gap tempts candidates into the wrong file. Sitting the cheaper exam and then needing Dubai costs more than doing it once correctly.

Use the blueprint to allocate revision time

eNursing Portal breaks the 150-item paper into fundamentals of nursing 30 items, adult nursing 61, maternal and child nursing 44, and unit management and leadership 15. Adult nursing and maternal and child care together carry 105 of 150, so roughly seven items in ten. Candidates from a narrow specialty background routinely underweight obstetrics and paediatrics and then lose more than they can recover elsewhere. Leadership at 15 items is small but cheap to secure, since it turns on delegation, documentation and incident reporting rather than clinical judgement. This split is a consultancy figure, not a MoHAP blueprint, so use it for pacing, not as a guarantee.

Three attempts, then you must show new study

eNursing Portal reports a maximum of three attempts, with a fourth requiring evidence of additional training or study, and results arriving within about five working days. That is softer than Dubai's two-year block after a third failure but it still converts a third failure into an evidence-gathering exercise rather than a rebooking. Combined with the 50 per cent threshold, the sensible approach is to sit once, properly prepared, rather than treating the first attempt as reconnaissance. Confirm the attempt rule from your own MoHAP correspondence, since this figure is not published by the ministry in the sources seen.

Verification order and where money actually goes

The workable sequence is: confirm your title against PQR version three, open the MoHAP application, start DataFlow primary source verification of degree, licence and experience, sit the Prometric assessment once evaluation clears, then have an approved facility activate the licence, followed by medical fitness and Emirates ID. eNursing Portal's AED 2,060 breakdown puts DataFlow at AED 1,235, well over half the total, and the sitting at AED 575, against NurseHub GCC's generic figure of about USD 240 for an authority exam and USD 150 to 400 and above for verification. Verification, not the exam, is the expensive and slow part.

What the unified platform will and will not do

MoHAP's own announcement describes comprehensive registration, unified evaluation and accreditation standards and a standardised licence valid across the UAE, and Gulf News reported a Q2 2026 go-live spanning MoHAP, DOH, DHA and Sharjah with a single professional profile. Sharjah is listed both as a MoHAP-covered emirate by exam-guide sites and as a separate health authority in the PQR and the Gulf News report, which is exactly the ambiguity the platform is meant to remove. Until a regulator states that nursing files have migrated, apply through MoHAP in the normal way and expect the early benefit to be fewer duplicated documents rather than instant nationwide practice rights.
