Checked 30 September 2026. From ICSI result press releases, June 2022 to December 2025. The June 2026 figures are reported by a news site; ICSI's press-release list had no June 2026 release on 30 September 2026. The next result is due on ICSI's standing date of 25 February.
ICSI declares CS results twice a year, on 25 February for the December session and 25 August for June, and its press release gives a pass percentage for each Professional module or group. Laid side by side, the releases show that under Syllabus 2022 the Professional groups have passed between 25.03% and 31.39% of candidates in every ICSI release so far, with the two groups never more than 1.19 percentage points apart. This guide collects every figure since June 2022, flags the one session we could only find reported, compares the old and new syllabus in the three sessions both ran, and sets Professional beside Executive. The releases also name toppers; this page carries percentages only. ProSyllabus is an independent study site. What the Syllabus 2022 series shows
A narrow band. In the four sessions with an ICSI release, Group 1 ranged from 25.03% to 30.40% and Group 2 from 26.22% to 31.39%. By our arithmetic the simple averages are 27.30% for Group 1 and 27.75% for Group 2. A simple average of session percentages is not a pass rate for students, because the number of candidates changes from session to session and is not published.
The groups move together. Unlike the Executive stage, where Group 1 has trailed Group 2 in every Syllabus 2022 session, the two Professional groups have been within about one point of each other in every ICSI release: Group 1 was ahead in June 2024 and December 2025, Group 2 in December 2024 and June 2025.
June 2026 would be a high, if confirmed. The reported 32.69% for Group 1 is above every Syllabus 2022 figure in ICSI's releases, and the reported gap to Group 2 (29.49%) is the widest yet. Until ICSI publishes its own figures, treat both as indicative.
Session to session, in percentage points
| Session | Group 1 | Group 1 change (ours) | Group 2 | Group 2 change (ours) | Group 1 minus Group 2 (ours) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| December 2024 | 30.40% | +3.36 points | 31.39% | +4.67 points | -0.99 points |
| June 2025 | 25.03% | -5.37 points | 26.22% | -5.17 points | -1.19 points |
| December 2025 | 26.73% | +1.70 points | 26.67% | +0.45 points | +0.06 points |
| June 2026 (reported) | 32.69% | +5.96 points | 29.49% | +2.82 points | +3.20 points |
Our arithmetic on the ICSI press-release figures (June 2026 on the reported figures). A change in points is the difference between two percentages, not a percentage change.
Old syllabus against new, in the sessions both ran
From June 2024 to June 2025, ICSI examined Syllabus 2017 and Syllabus 2022 Professional students side by side and printed both sets of figures. The old syllabus had three modules and the new one has two groups, with different papers, so this compares stages, not identical exams.
| Session | Syllabus 2017 modules (1 / 2 / 3) | Syllabus 2017 lowest module | Syllabus 2022 groups (1 / 2) | Syllabus 2022 highest group | Lowest module minus highest group (ours) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| June 2024 | 31.13% / 30.16% / 32.18% | 30.16% | 27.04% / 26.72% | 27.04% | 3.12 points |
| December 2024 | 35.81% / 34.09% / 36.20% | 34.09% | 30.40% / 31.39% | 31.39% | 2.70 points |
| June 2025 | 29.60% / 28.83% / 28.50% | 28.50% | 25.03% / 26.22% | 26.22% | 2.28 points |
ICSI press releases for June 2024, December 2024 and June 2025; the last column is our arithmetic. The last Syllabus 2017 Professional examination was June 2025.
Our reading. In each of the three sessions, every old-syllabus module passed a larger share than either new-syllabus group, by 2.28 to 3.12 points when the lowest module is set against the higher group. Two cautions. The cohorts differed: the 2017 students left in 2024 and 2025 were finishing an outgoing syllabus, many on repeat attempts, while the 2022 students were among the first to sit new papers. And a pass percentage says what share of those who sat passed, not whether a paper was harder.
ICSI press releases. June 2023 Module 2 (7.86%) is the lowest Professional figure in this window.
The old-syllabus series is the more volatile one. It fell from around 18 to 22% in June 2022 to between 7.86% and 13.11% in June 2023, then climbed to between 34.09% and 36.20% in December 2024, the highest figures in the window, before the syllabus closed in June 2025.
Professional against Executive
Students reach Professional only after clearing both Executive groups, so the two stages examine different populations. With that caution, the comparison below sets the Professional Group 1 figure beside the Executive Group 1 figure for the same session under Syllabus 2022. The Executive history is in our Executive pass-percentage guide.
| Session | Professional Group 1 | Executive Group 1 | Professional as a multiple of Executive (ours) |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 2024 | 27.04% | 8.15% | 3.32x |
| December 2024 | 30.40% | 15.91% | 1.91x |
| June 2025 | 25.03% | 14.57% | 1.72x |
| December 2025 | 26.73% | 18.03% | 1.48x |
| June 2026 (reported) | 32.69% | 17.41% | 1.88x |
ICSI press releases (June 2026 reported by Taxguru for both stages); the multiples are our arithmetic.
ICSI press releases; * reported by Taxguru.
Our reading. Professional Group 1 has passed between 1.48 and 3.32 times the Executive Group 1 share in the same session, and the multiple has narrowed as Executive Group 1 has risen. The obvious explanation is selection: everyone sitting Professional has already passed the harder-to-pass Executive stage. The numbers do not show that Professional papers are easier.
What these percentages cannot tell you
Read the numbers with these limits
- No counts. The releases give percentages only. We cannot say how many students sat or passed, or whether a change came from more passes or fewer candidates.
- No definition of the base. The releases do not say how a candidate sitting both groups is counted, or whether candidates with exempted papers are included.
- Not your odds. A session percentage mixes first attempts, repeaters and students using exemptions. What decides your own result is the pass rule, set out in our Professional group-rules guide, with the mechanics in our Executive passing-marks guide.
- One session is reported only. June 2026 (32.69% and 29.49%) comes from a news report; we found no ICSI press release for it.
Our reading of the ICSI press releases.
When the next result comes
ICSI's 2026 calendar gives 25 February for December results and 25 August for June results, and every release in the table above was declared on the 25th. Our reading: the December 2026 result is due on 25 February 2027. ICSI's June 2026 announcement says Professional passers receive a printed result-cum-marks statement by post; after passing, the route to membership runs through the CLDP and the Training Clearance Certificate.
What is the CS Professional pass percentage?
Under Syllabus 2022, ICSI's releases put Group 1 between 25.03% (June 2025) and 30.40% (December 2024), and Group 2 between 26.22% (June 2025) and 31.39% (December 2024). June 2026 is reported at 32.69% and 29.49%.

Reported by Taxguru as 32.69% for Group 1 and 29.49% for Group 2. We did not find an ICSI press release with these figures.
What was the CS Professional December 2025 pass percentage?
26.73% for Group 1 and 26.67% for Group 2, according to ICSI's press release of 25 February 2026.
Which CS Professional group is harder to pass?
Neither consistently. In ICSI's four Syllabus 2022 releases the two groups were within 1.19 percentage points of each other, and each led in two sessions.
Is CS Professional easier to pass than CS Executive?
Its pass percentages are higher: Professional Group 1 has been 1.48 to 3.32 times Executive Group 1 in the same session. But only students who passed Executive sit Professional, so the numbers do not show that the papers are easier.
When is the CS Professional December 2026 result?
