BPSC TRE previous papers and answer keys: what they tell you
Not another PDF dump. Where the official keys live, how the objection window actually works — and proof that objections change results: four questions were deleted in TRE 3.0.

Where other pages get this wrong
Filing an objection is not a formality. Four questions were deleted from one TRE 3.0 paper.
Commonly published instead: Most previous-paper pages are link farms that never mention the objection process, leaving the impression that the provisional key is final.
In TRE 3.0, the Class 1-5 General Studies paper had four questions deleted between the provisional key of 28 August 2024 and the final key of 16 September 2024. On a 120-mark merit base where subjects have been decided by a single mark, four questions is not a rounding error.
Two things this page does not do, and it is worth saying why up front.
What we are deliberately not publishing
- No topic-weightage percentages. A credible weightage table needs question-by-question tagging of papers we do not have. The weightage figures on competitor sites are unsourced — nobody says which papers they tagged or how. We would rather publish nothing than publish a plausible-looking table we cannot defend.
- No hosted PDFs. We do not mirror question papers. We point you at the official source, which is also the only copy guaranteed to be the real one.
If a page gives you a confident "Modern History: 18%" breakdown with no methodology, it is worth asking where that number came from before you plan a revision schedule around it.
Where the official papers and keys are
Answer keys are published on bpsc.bih.nic.in — note the domain, which differs from the main bpsc.bihar.gov.in site. Keys are issued separately for each level, on separate dates, and each level has its own objection window. Checking a friend’s date is a good way to miss your own.

How the objection process actually works
The mechanics
- Objections are filed online only, using your registration number and date of birth.
- Supporting documents are required. This is the part candidates fail on — an objection that is just an assertion gets discarded.
- BPSC states that objections "sent by any other channel and those received after the deadline will not be considered." There is no appeal to that.
- The final answer key is released with the result, after challenges are reviewed. You do not get told individually whether your objection succeeded.
We are not quoting an objection fee. A figure of Rs 100 per question circulates widely and we could not source it, so we leave it out rather than guess at something you would budget around.
What makes an objection actually land
- Cite a published authority — a named textbook with edition and page, an NCERT line, a government publication. Not a coaching note, not a screenshot of a website.
- Object to one question per submission, cleanly, rather than bundling complaints.
- A question with two defensible answers is a stronger challenge than one where you simply disagree with the key — those are the ones that get deleted rather than re-keyed.
- File early in the window. It closes at a fixed time and the portal does not extend.
What the past papers genuinely tell you
Setting aside invented weightage tables, there are things the previous rounds tell you that are solid, and they come from the structure and the results rather than from the question text.
Four things worth knowing
- The merit base is 120, not 150. Part I language is qualifying and discarded. Every past cut-off you read is out of 120.
- At Classes 6-12, the subject paper is 80 of those 120 marks — two-thirds of your merit score sits in one section. At Classes 1-5, General Studies is the entire 120.
- Subject choice dominates. In TRE 3.0, Class 9-10 Mathematics closed at 102 out of 120 while Class 11-12 Physics closed at 40. Same round, same commission.
- Round-over-round movement is violent. Class 11-12 Hindi went from 39 in TRE 1.0 to 88 in TRE 3.0. Any plan built on a single round’s cut-off is built on sand.

One thing to check that materially affects your score
When questions are deleted, there are two ways a commission can handle it: award the mark to every candidate, or mark the paper out of a reduced total. Those produce different results, and they change the base your cut-off is computed on. We could not establish which approach BPSC took with the four deleted TRE 3.0 questions. If you are analysing a past result closely, that is the detail to pull from the final answer key notice itself.
Where can I download BPSC TRE previous year question papers?
From the official site, bpsc.bih.nic.in, in the notices and answer-key section. We do not host or mirror question paper PDFs — the official copy is the only one guaranteed to be genuine and complete.
Can the BPSC TRE answer key change after it is published?
Yes. The provisional key is open to objection and the final key can differ. In TRE 3.0, four questions were deleted from the Class 1-5 General Studies paper between the provisional key of 28 August 2024 and the final key of 16 September 2024.
How do I raise an objection to the BPSC TRE answer key?
Online only, through the BPSC portal, using your registration number and date of birth, with supporting documents attached. BPSC states that objections sent by any other channel, or after the deadline, will not be considered.
What evidence do I need to challenge an answer key question?
A published authority — a named textbook with edition and page, an NCERT reference, or a government publication. An objection that only asserts the key is wrong, without a citation, gets discarded.
Is there a fee to file an objection?
We could not source one, so we are not quoting a figure. A per-question fee circulates widely online but we found no official confirmation of the amount. Check the answer-key notice itself.
When is the final BPSC TRE answer key released?
With the result, after objections have been reviewed. Candidates are not notified individually about the outcome of their own objection.
What is the topic-wise weightage in BPSC TRE?
