Checked 25 September 2026. Score levels are our count from the 2026-27 and 2025-26 department merit lists on CCEP (text-layer PDFs only; no names kept). SPPU publishes no cut-offs or applicant totals.
SPPU does not publish OEE cut-offs. What it does publish, department by department, are merit and waiting lists with each candidate's marks — and for some programmes those lists include every ranked candidate. We read the 2026-27 lists that have a text layer (the scanned ones could not be read reliably), counted the rows by application ID and recorded only numbers: how many candidates, how many seats, and the highest, median and lowest score. No names were kept.
Where other pages get this wrong
SPPU publishes no OEE cut-off. A merit list shows who was called, not the lowest score that finally got a seat.
Commonly published instead: "SPPU OEE cut-off 2026: M.Sc. CS 85, Chemistry 70…"
No closing-score statement appears on the CCEP portal or in any department notice we read. Merit lists are split by SPPU and other-university quota and by category, and seats pass down waiting lists and spot rounds, so the last admitted score is not printed anywhere. Any single "cut-off" figure online is an estimate.

Score levels in the 2026 lists
| Programme (2026 list) | Seats | Candidates printed | Highest | Median | Lowest printed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| M.Sc. Computer Science | 68 | 655 | 100 | 90 | 12 |
| M.Sc. Chemistry | 147 | 676 | 98 | 77 | 0 |
| M.Sc. Physics | 100 | 158 | 100 | 76.5 | 16 |
| M.A. English (first list) | 66 | 68 | 100 | 87 | 37 |
| M.A. History (first list) | 66 | 66 | 97 | 79 | 28 |
| M.A./M.Sc. Geography | 57 | 55 | 97 | 85 | 28 |
| M.Sc. Geoinformatics | 68 | 66 | 95 | 81 | 34 |
| MBA (Executive) | 66 | 86 | 90 | 71.5 | 14 |
| M.A./M.Sc. Anthropology (seat-wise) | 29 + supernumerary | 35 | 99 | 81 | 24 |
| M.Sc. Botany | 55 | 57 | 96 | 78 | 29 |
Our count of unique application IDs in each 2026-27 list on CCEP, out of 100 marks. For Computer Science and Physics the list is effectively the whole ranked list, and for Chemistry the general merit list (both quotas together; the department also displays separate SPPU and other-university lists); for the others it is the list of candidates called, so "candidates printed" is not an applicant count. Second lists, waiting lists and scanned lists (M.Com., Statistics, Politics, LL.M. and others) are not included.
Median of the rows printed in each 2026-27 list; our count.
Two things stand out. First, M.Sc. Computer Science is the most crowded: 655 ranked candidates for 68 seats, nearly ten per seat, with a median of 90. Its Section B is pitched at "up to 12th standard NCERT math", so the paper is accessible and the competition sits at the top end. Second, Chemistry is large on both sides — 676 candidates for 147 seats, about 4.6 per seat — and its list prints Sections A and B separately, which matters because Section B breaks ties.
2025 against 2026
| Programme | 2025 rows | 2025 median | 2026 rows | 2026 median |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M.Sc. Computer Science | 250 | 82.75 | 655 | 90 |
| M.Sc. Chemistry | 896 | 53.875 | 676 | 77 |
| M.A./M.Sc. Geography | 52 | 77.875 | 55 | 85 |
| M.Sc. Geoinformatics | 62 | 79 | 66 | 81 |
| MBA (Executive) | 61 | 67.5 | 86 | 71.5 |
| M.Sc. Botany | 52 | 73.25 | 57 | 78 |
Our count from the 2025-26 and 2026-27 lists on CCEP.
Medians rose in every programme we could compare, and sharply in Chemistry. We cannot say why: the papers were different, and — as the pattern guide in this series explains — the 2025 lists carry the quarter-mark totals of negative marking while the 2026 lists contain only whole numbers. If no deduction was applied in 2026, higher scores would follow on their own. So do not read the 2026 medians as the level you need in 2027; read them as how bunched the top of each list is.
Second lists and waiting lists
| List (2026) | Rows | Highest | Median | Lowest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M.Sc. Computer Science, second merit list | 120 | 98 | 88 | 12 |
| M.A. English, second list (24 seats remaining) | 44 | 95 | 61 | 1 |
| M.A. History, second list | 24 | 83 | 69 | 22 |
| MBA (Executive), waiting list | 20 | 78 | 55 | 32 |
Our count from the 2026-27 second and waiting lists on CCEP, by application ID; no names.
The second lists are the more useful guide for a borderline candidate. M.A. English still had 24 of its 66 seats to fill after the first list and called 44 more candidates for them, with a median of 61 — so the first list's median of 87 overstates what the last seats needed. Seats are declined, candidates take other offers, and the list moves. Two lessons follow: a score well below a first-list median is not hopeless, and you must keep checking CCEP and the department page until the spot round — and pay fast when called: the central procedure allows three days from the link opening, but the 2026 Computer Science notice required payment "on the same day of the admission round".
| Programme | 2025 rows | 2025 highest | 2025 median | 2025 lowest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M.A./M.Sc. Statistics | 52 | 93.75 | 77.75 | 5 |
| M.Sc. Geology | 26 | 92.5 | 70 | 21.25 |
| M.Sc. Geoinformatics | 62 | 95 | 79 | 11.25 |

Place a score against the 2026 lists
How would your score have looked in 2026?
Pick a programme and enter a score out of 100 (from a mock, or your 2026 result). The check places it against the highest, median and lowest scores printed in that department's 2026 list. It is not a cut-off: SPPU publishes none.
From the 2026-27 department merit lists on CCEP (text-layer PDFs only), our count of rows by application ID; no names used. For Computer Science, Chemistry and Physics the list is effectively every ranked candidate; for the others it is the called list. Seats as printed in each list (Anthropology’s 29 excludes its 2 supernumerary seats). The Computer Science list is headed "Academic Year 2025-2026", a typo: its application IDs, NCL rule and folder are 2026-27.
How to read a merit list
| You will see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Separate SPPU and other-university lists | 70% of seats go to SPPU graduates (Maharashtra-domiciled) and 30% to other universities; each has its own list and category split |
| Section A, Section B and total | Ranked on the total; a tie goes to the higher Section B score, then qualifying-exam subject marks |
| A "Rank ID" | In the Computer Science list, only a sequential identifier among equal scores, not a rank in the usual sense |
| Second list, waiting list, spot round | Seats not taken pass down; departments publish further lists and a final spot round |
| Physical counselling "in P.C. Ray Hall" or "Sir C. V. Raman Hall" | Chemistry and Physics call candidates to the department in merit order; others admit through the portal |
Your own result is shown on the CCEP result portal, which says plainly: "This is not the Merit List. It is only the result of OEE 2026." The merit list comes later, from the department: in 2026 the Chemistry general merit list was displayed on 23 June, and other departments followed from late June. SPPU also publishes no count of applicants, overall or per programme.
Practise it, don't just read it
In the most crowded lists, a few marks move you dozens of places. Timed topic quizzes are how those marks are found.
The ProSyllabus SPPU OEE library has topic quizzes for English, Economics, Commerce, Political Science and Computer Science — the first one is free.
What is the SPPU OEE cut-off?
SPPU publishes none. The 2026 merit lists show the scores of those called — for example M.Sc. Computer Science 655 candidates for 68 seats with a median of 90 — but not the last admitted score.
What score is needed for M.Sc. Computer Science at SPPU?
No official figure exists. In the 2026 list the median of 655 ranked candidates was 90 out of 100, for 68 seats split between SPPU and other-university quotas and categories.
How many students apply for SPPU OEE?
SPPU publishes no applicant counts. The 2026 Computer Science list ranked 655 candidates and Chemistry 676.
Where is the SPPU OEE merit list published?
Each department publishes its own merit and waiting lists as PDFs linked from the CCEP portal; the result portal itself is "not the Merit List".
When did the SPPU OEE 2026 merit lists come out?
The M.Sc. Chemistry general merit list was displayed on 23 June 2026, after the 11–13 June exam; other departments followed from late June.
Why are SPPU OEE 2026 scores all whole numbers?
We found only whole numbers in every 2026 text-readable list, unlike 2025's quarter marks. No 2026 document explains it; it would fit negative marking not being applied.
Is there a separate merit list for other-university students?
Yes. 30% of seats go to candidates from other universities, with their own list.
What happens if two candidates have the same OEE score?
The higher Section B score ranks first, then the qualifying-exam marks in the subject.
Did the SPPU OEE median go up in 2026?
In every programme we could compare — e.g. Computer Science 82.75 to 90, Chemistry 53.875 to 77 — but the papers and possibly the marking differed.
Are student names in these figures?
No. We counted application IDs and scores only.
Does the SPPU merit list show Section A and B marks separately?
Some do. The 2026 M.Sc. Chemistry list prints Section A, Section B and the total, which matters because Section B breaks ties.
Can I get admission at SPPU with a low OEE score?
Sometimes, through later lists. The 2026 M.A. English second list went down to a score of 1, and the MBA (Executive) waiting list to 32, though the first lists' medians were 87 and 71.5.
Is there a second merit list for SPPU OEE?
Yes, for many programmes. In 2026 M.A. English called 44 candidates for its last 24 seats with a median of 61, far below the first list's 87.
