Checked 25 September 2026. Windows from SCFHS's 2026 table ("registration dates are subject to updates"). Attempt rules from the SPLE Applicant Guide (Sep 2025) and SCFHS's licensure-exam page, which are worded differently. Rescheduling fees from Prometric's 2022 FAQ.
The SPLE runs in testing windows, not on a single date: you book any open day inside a window at an SCFHS-approved Prometric centre. SCFHS's 2026 table lists twelve windows, and on 25 September 2026 three remained open — 1–22 October, 1–24 November and 1–24 December. The windows are shared by all of SCFHS's professional practice licensure exams. This guide sets them out, with the result timeline and the attempt rules, where SCFHS's own texts differ.

Windows from SCFHS's table for its Professional Practice Licensure Exams, which says registration dates are subject to updates. "Results expected by" is our arithmetic: six weeks after the last day of the window.
Results are announced 2–6 weeks after the window ends, so the range runs 14 to 42 days after its last day — our arithmetic on the SPLE guide.
How results work
The SPLE guide is explicit that results are not instant: "During the window-closing period, psychometric analysis is conducted, and results are announced within 2–6 weeks of the end of a test window." Sitting on the first day of a window therefore does not get you an earlier result. Each candidate gets a statement of results and a feedback report comparing their performance with other test takers. The Mumaris FAQ's "at most 14 workdays for results to be approved" is a general classification answer; for the SPLE, plan on the guide's 2–6 weeks.
How many attempts — two official answers
| Rule | SPLE Applicant Guide (Sep 2025) | SCFHS licensure-exam page (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Attempts to pass | "Up to four times a year, starting from the first attempt" | "If the first attempt is not passed: Two additional attempts are granted"; opportunities "may be repeated after one year from the date of the first attempt in case of failure to pass" |
| Same window | Never twice in one window — the first dated test counts, the second is an attempt with an invalid result | — |
| After a pass | Two further attempts to improve the mark, for residency selection | "If the first attempt is passed: Two improvement attempts are granted" |
| Annual improvement | — | Once per training year, if classification and registration requirements are met |
The two texts are both official and do not say the same thing: the guide allows up to four sittings a year from the first attempt; the page gives two additional attempts after a failed first attempt, and a repeat a year after the first attempt. Never book two sittings in one window, and plan conservatively on the page's count. What binds is what Mumaris+ lets you book — check your count there before paying. SCFHS's procedural guide (Aug 2025) adds the classification-side rule: four attempts a year to pass the professional assessment, after which the application is rejected and a new one can be filed a year later.
Where other pages get this wrong
SCFHS's documents do not give one agreed attempt number — and a late arrival counts.
Commonly published instead: "You get four attempts per calendar year" and "a missed exam does not count".
The applicant guide says four times a year counted from the first attempt, not the calendar year; the licensure page gives two additional attempts after a failed first attempt. And arriving more than 30 minutes late, or not arriving, counts as an attempt unless SCFHS accepts an excuse.
Booking and rescheduling
| When you reschedule or cancel | Fee |
|---|---|
| More than 30 calendar days before (treat day 30 as chargeable) | None |
| 16 to 30 calendar days before | USD 50 |
| 15 calendar days or fewer before | No refund — the exam fee is lost |
| More than 30 minutes late, or absent | Not admitted; counted as an attempt unless an excuse is accepted |
Fees from Prometric's SCFHS FAQ (2022), the latest we found — check the booking page for current charges; the lateness rule is from the SPLE guide. Scheduling may not open more than three months in advance, and SCFHS publishes no fixed SPLE seat fee.
Choosing your window
Three things decide which window to book. First, readiness: results arrive after the window closes, so a sitting you are not ready for costs at least a month and one of your attempts. Second, the classification clock: SCFHS cannot classify you until it has the result, and its 30-working-day target for classification by exam starts only then. Third, availability: scheduling opens no more than three months ahead, and seats at a given centre can run out late in a window. Booking early in a window you are ready for is better than booking late in one you are not.
| If you are… | Book | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Ready now, with verification under way | October (1–22 Oct) | Result by early December; classification can follow |
| Four to eight weeks from ready | November (1–24 Nov) | Time to finish the plan; result by early January 2027 |
| Starting preparation now | December (1–24 Dec) or a 2027 window | A realistic ten-week plan ends in December |
Our suggestions. SCFHS had not published 2027 windows on 25 September 2026; its table has so far run from January to December, so expect the first 2027 window in early January — but check before planning around it.
While you wait for the result
The two to six weeks after a window are not dead time. Classification cannot start without the result, but verification can: gather your degree, transcripts, internship certificate, State Pharmacy Council registration and experience letters, check that the names match your passport, and warn your university and employers that a verification request is coming. SCFHS's target for a classification decided by exam is 30 working days once everything is in, so a file that is ready when the result arrives saves a month.
Exam integrity
SCFHS's licensure-exam page lists penalties for breaking its examination integrity rules, including suspension from taking the exam for a period from six months to three years, and permanent disqualification. Coaching-centre "recall" papers that reproduce live questions fall squarely within what those rules exist to prevent; practise with review-book questions and SCFHS's own practice test instead.
A worked example
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Sit in the October window | 1–22 Oct 2026 |
| Result arrives | Between 5 Nov and 3 Dec 2026 |
| If you failed: earliest re-sit | The December window (1–24 Dec), if the result is in and your count allows |
| If you passed: improvement attempt | Any later window, subject to the improvement rules |
Our illustration of the guide's rules. Because results come after the window closes and you cannot sit twice in one window, a failed October candidate may not know the result in time to use much of November — it can arrive as late as 3 December. Plan on December.
Practise it, don't just read it
With results 2–6 weeks after a window, a failed sitting costs at least a month. Enter the window prepared.
The ProSyllabus SCFHS pharmacist library has topic quizzes for Pharmacology and Mechanisms of Action, Pharmaceutics and Dosage Forms, Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutics, Therapeutics: Cardiovascular and Endocrine, Therapeutics: Infectious Disease and Antimicrobials, Pharmacy Practice, Dispensing and Patient Counseling, Drug Interactions, Adverse Effects and Toxicology and Pharmacy Law, Ethics and Saudi (SCFHS) Regulations. Each question comes with an explanation.
What are the SPLE exam dates in 2026?
Twelve windows. Those still open on 25 September 2026: 1–22 October, 1–24 November and 1–24 December.
How long does the SPLE result take?
Two to six weeks after the end of the testing window, with a statement of results and a feedback report.
How many times can I take the SPLE?
The applicant guide says up to four times a year from your first attempt, never twice in one window; SCFHS's licensure page gives two additional attempts after a failed first attempt. Confirm your count in Mumaris+.
Can I retake the SPLE after passing?
Yes. The guide gives two further attempts after a pass to improve the mark for residency selection; the SCFHS page says "Two improvement attempts are granted" after a passed first attempt, and describes an annual improvement attempt once per training year.
Can I take the SPLE in India?
The guide says candidates can test at any SCFHS-approved Prometric centre in Saudi Arabia or abroad, as locations appear when scheduling. Check Prometric's booking page for centres in your city.
Are the SPLE windows the same as the SMLE and SNLE windows?
Yes. SCFHS publishes one table of 2026 periods for all its Professional Practice Licensure Exams, which include the SPLE.
What happens if I arrive late for the SPLE?
More than 30 minutes late, or absent, and you are not admitted; it counts as an attempt unless SCFHS accepts an excuse. Lateness is measured against the time on your admission ticket; SCFHS test centres open at 7:30 a.m.
Can I sit the SPLE twice in one window?
No. If you do, the first dated test counts and the second is recorded as an attempt with an invalid result.
What is the SPLE reschedule fee?
Prometric's SCFHS FAQ (2022): free 30 or more days before, USD 50 between 16 and 30 days, no refund within 15 days.
