Checked 3 October 2026. From the 2026 and 2025 advertisements and the 2025 flow chart. The 2026 screening ran 20 Aug to 5 Sep 2026. Registration dates and the first-allotment report are from news and academy pages; the Army advertisements print no application dates. The weights of the stages are not published.
After NEET (UG), the Army's B.Sc (Nursing) route has one screening, not a series of rounds. You register on the portal, are shortlisted by NEET score, and the shortlisted attend a single multi-day screening at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt, where documents are checked and the ToGIGE, the Psychological Assessment and Interview and the medical board all take place. Final merit then combines NEET, ToGIGE, and Psychological Assessment and Interview, and colleges are allotted by merit cum choice. This guide walks the stages in the order the advertisement gives them, with the 2026 and 2025 timelines.
AFMS BSc (Nursing) Course advertisement 2026, paras 4, 5 and 8.3; the 2026 shortlist list.
The stages in order
| Stage | What the 2026 advertisement says | Where |

| 2. Registration | Register at joinindianarmy.nic.in after the NEET result; email ID is the user ID; Rs 200 fee online (SC/ST upload proof); a reference number is issued. | Online |
| 3. Shortlist and admit card | Reference numbers of shortlisted candidates are displayed on the portal; the admit card is downloaded from it. | Online |
| 4. Document verification | Originals of all documents listed on the admit card; an original receipt and an undertaking if originals are deposited elsewhere. | Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt |
| 5. ToGIGE | Computer-based test of General Intelligence and General English: 40 MCQs, 2 marks each, 80 marks, -0.5 per wrong answer, 30 minutes. | Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt |

The advertisement does not print weights for the stages in the final merit, nor any qualifying mark in the ToGIGE or the interview.
Where other pages get this wrong
There is no separate Army written test after NEET, and the ToGIGE is 40 questions in 30 minutes.
Commonly published instead: A 150-question, 90-minute ToGIGE; "no negative marking"; "Psychological Aptitude Test and interview are only qualifying"; interview and medical "in October-November".
The 2026 notice prints 40 questions, 80 marks, 0.5 negative marking and 30 minutes, and counts the Psychological Assessment and Interview inside the combined merit. The 90-minute format belongs to the Army's own test used in 2017 and 2020, before NEET was used. The 2026 screening was on 13 days between 20 August and 5 September.
The 2026 and 2025 timelines
The Army prints no calendar in its advertisements; the portal opens "after the declaration of NEET (UG) results". So the real dates follow NTA's result, and in 2026 the NEET timeline itself was disrupted: NTA cancelled the 3 May 2026 examination on 12 May, held a re-examination on 21 June 2026, and declared the result on 16 July.
| Date | Event | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 12 May 2026 | NTA cancels the NEET (UG) 2026 examination of 3 May 2026 | official: NTA press release |
| 21 Jun 2026 | NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination | official: NTA notice of 15 May 2026 |
| 16 Jul 2026 | NEET (UG) 2026 result and final answer key | official: NTA press release |
| 20 Jul to 31 Jul 2026 | MNS registration on joinindianarmy.nic.in | reported (Physics Wallah); the advertisement prints no dates |
| 20 Aug to 5 Sep 2026 | Screening at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt on 13 dates | official: Army shortlist list (scan, hosted by an academy) |
| By 1 Oct 2026 | A first allotment list of 220 candidate numbers is reported; no marks or colleges shown | reported: one academy; copy not authenticated, no list date |
| 14 Jun 2025 | NEET (UG) 2025 result | official: NTA press release |
| 17 Jun to 30 Jun 2025, extended to 2 Jul | MNS registration, 2025 | reported |
We found no Army document with the 2025 screening dates, so none are given. The 2025 AFMS flow chart says the application would be hosted on the portal "within 24-48 hrs of declaration of NEET(UG) result"; in 2026 it opened four days after the result, by the reported date.
Our arithmetic from the dates in the table above. Result on 16 July 2026.
The practical lesson from both years is how short the window is. In 2026 the portal stayed open for 12 days, 20 to 31 July inclusive (by the reported dates), and the screening began roughly three weeks after it closed.
Registration: rules that cancel applications
From paras 8 to 12 of the 2026 advertisement
- The portal is accessible after the NEET (UG) result. Your email ID becomes the user name and you choose your own password.
- Corrections are made with the EDIT menu before you press SUBMIT. "Correction in the application will not be possible after final submission."
- All candidates except SC/ST pay Rs 200 online. SC/ST candidates upload the documentary proof. A DU number is not proof of payment: make sure the amount is debited from your bank account.
- An application is rejected for being incomplete, for more than one submission, or for non-payment. No refund is made if the fee is paid more than once.
- Keep a working phone number and email ID until selection ends: "no request for change of mail id or phone number will be entertained". Hard copies are not accepted.
- Wilful concealment or misrepresentation leads to disqualification at any stage.
The 2025 flow chart said the fee was paid by SBI e-challan; the 2026 text says online payment gateway.
Screening day at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt
Everything after the shortlist happens at one place, on the date printed on your admit card. The notice warns that a "request for change of date of screening process will NOT be entertained except under extreme circumstances". You are asked to produce originals of all documents listed on the admit card. If an original is deposited with an institution, you must produce the institution's original receipt and give an undertaking to produce all originals at admission. A shortlisted candidate who lacks documents required by the eligibility criteria, or whose information proves wilfully concealed or misrepresented, loses candidature.
Screening-day checklist (items the notice names)
Tick as you collect each item. The advertisement does not list the documents itself; the admit card does, so read that list line by line and add anything it names.

ToGIGE in detail
The Test of General Intelligence and General English is a computer-based test with 40 multiple-choice questions of two marks each, 80 marks in all, with 0.5 mark deducted for every wrong answer, to be answered in 30 minutes. By our arithmetic that is 45 seconds a question. The advertisement does not publish the split between English and Intelligence questions, the syllabus, the number of options per question, or a qualifying mark. Anything more specific, such as "20 English and 20 Reasoning", is not in the notice.
| Correct | Wrong | Blank | Score out of 80 (our arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40 | 0 | 0 | 80.0 |
| 35 | 5 | 0 | 67.5 |
| 30 | 10 | 0 | 55.0 |
| 30 | 5 | 5 | 57.5 |
| 25 | 10 | 5 | 45.0 |
| 25 | 0 | 15 | 50.0 |
| 20 | 20 | 0 | 30.0 |
| 20 | 10 | 10 | 35.0 |
| 15 | 25 | 0 | 17.5 |
| 10 | 30 | 0 | 5.0 |
Our arithmetic from the marking in the 2026 advertisement. It shows why accuracy matters: 20 correct with 20 wrong earns 30 of 80, the same as 15 correct answers, no wrong ones and 25 left blank.
ToGIGE score calculator (+2 / -0.5, 40 questions)
Enter how many of the 40 questions you got right and wrong in a practice set. Unattempted questions score zero. The second box lets you test a guessing rule: the notice does not say how many options each question has, so choose any.
Marking from the 2026 advertisement, para 4.3: 40 MCQs of two marks each, maximum 80, negative mark of 0.5 for every incorrect answer, 30 minutes. The advertisement publishes no cut-off for the test. Guess values are our arithmetic.
Each correct answer earns 2 and each wrong answer costs 0.5, so a guess pays off if the chance of being right is above one in five (0.5 out of 2.5). With four options a blind guess is worth +0.125 marks on average; with five it is exactly zero. That does not mean guessing blindly wins the test: it means the penalty is mild, and an answer where you have ruled out even one option is a good bet. The notice does not state the number of options, so treat this as a rule of thumb.
Psychological Assessment and Interview
The Psychological Assessment and Interview are conducted by a Selection Board at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. The notice says candidates "may be asked questions on the core subjects up to Std XII, General Knowledge, Current affairs and their interests, hobbies etc.", and that "due weightage" is given in the interview for achievements in sports at various levels and for the dependants of Officers, JCOs and ORs who are serving, ex-servicemen or killed in action. It does not describe the psychological tests, the number of board members, the duration, or the marks. The 2025 advertisement used the words "Board of Officers"; the 2026 one says "Selection Board".
The medical board
Every shortlisted candidate undergoes a Special Medical Board (SMB) at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt and is informed of her medical status when the examination is complete. A candidate declared unfit may appeal by depositing Rs 40 by MRO and presenting the application with the receipted copy at Army Hospital (R&R) for an Appeal Medical Board within 24 hours of the SMB. She must remain present until the board completes. A candidate who is not physically present at the SMB or AMB is declared unfit in absentia and "any representation at a later date in writing or telephonically/ e-mail will not be entertained". The eligibility standards and the weight chart are in the eligibility guide.
Final merit, college allotment and the bond
The final selection "will be based on the combined merit of NEET (UG) 2026 scores + ToGIGE score + Psychological Assessment and Interview, subject to medical fitness". A merit list is prepared and colleges are allotted by merit cum choice, subject to seats at each college (the six colleges and their seats are in the seat guide). The list of selected candidates is published on the portal and the notice tells candidates to check it regularly: "no intimation about non-selection" will be sent (no one will tell you that you were not selected, so check the list on the portal yourself), and "no seats will be kept vacant for candidates when offered admission if they fail to report on the date and time". The 2025 text added that the merit list "will be valid for this academic year only". A candidate who is offered admission executes an Agreement/Bond to serve as an officer in the Military Nursing Service; what that means is in the commission and bond guide.
