Checked 29 September 2026. From IBPS CRP RRBs-XV Annexure I (01.09, 09.09, 15.09 and 25.09.2026) and CRP RRBs-XIV Annexure I (01.09 and 27.09.2025). IBPS calls every figure “indicative”; allotment follows the vacancies RRBs actually report.
IBPS recruits Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager) for the Regional Rural Banks state by state. You choose one state or UT when you apply, you compete only with candidates who chose the same state, and — in IBPS’s words — “the provisional allotment shall be restricted within the RRBs of the State opted for”. So the national total of 4,256 Scale I posts for CRP RRBs-XV tells you very little. Your state’s row tells you almost everything, and between 2025 and 2026 many rows moved sharply: Andhra Pradesh went from no Scale I posts to 400, Gujarat from 263 to 600, while Kerala fell from 250 to 55 and Rajasthan from 500 to 250. This guide sets out every state’s posts from the official Annexure I updated on 25 September 2026, the category split, the four versions of the annexure IBPS has published, and what the swing means for a candidate choosing where to compete.
IBPS CRP RRBs-XV Annexure I updated as on 25.09.2026. Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts: 8,222.
Where other pages get this wrong
The current CRP RRBs-XV total is 13,757 (Annexure I updated 25.09.2026): Office Assistant 8,222, Scale I 4,256, Scale II 1,059, Scale III 220.
Commonly published instead: 13,745 with Scale II at 1,047 (the 09.09 and 15.09 versions, still printed on many pages including our own notice board), 13,706 (the original of 01.09.2026) and “4265” Scale I vacancies.
IBPS revised Annexure I three times. The 25.09.2026 update added 12 Scale II posts: Chartered Accountant 81 to 82, Law 46 to 56, Treasury Manager 18 to 19. The Scale I total has been 4,256 in every version.
The four versions of Annexure I
IBPS publishes the vacancy table as Annexure I and replaces it when participating RRBs report changes. For CRP RRBs-XV there have been four versions so far. Only the Office Assistant and Scale II columns have moved; Scale I and Scale III have been constant since the notification.
| Version | Office Assistant | Scale I | Scale II | Scale III | Total | What changed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Original, with notification (01.09.2026) | 8,183 | 4,256 | 1,047 | 220 | 13,706 | Tripura Office Assistant row empty |
| Updated 09.09.2026 | 8,222 | 4,256 | 1,047 | 220 | 13,745 | Tripura adds 39 Office Assistant posts |
| Updated 15.09.2026 | 8,222 | 4,256 | 1,047 | 220 | 13,745 | No change in totals |
| Updated 25.09.2026 (current) | 8,222 | 4,256 | 1,059 | 220 | 13,757 | Scale II CA +1, Law +10, Treasury +1 |
Totals are our sums of the state rows in each official PDF; they agree with the totals Careerpower reports for the 25.09.2026 version. The 39 Tripura Office Assistant posts account for the whole difference between 8,183 and 8,222.
Scale I posts by state: 2026 against 2025
The table below sets the 2026 Scale I figure for each state against the final 2025 figure (CRP RRBs-XIV Annexure I updated 27.09.2025, total 3,928). The 2026 national total is up by 328 posts, about 8% (our arithmetic), but that average hides thirteen states and UTs that lost posts (our count from the table). Two states — Manipur and Tripura — have no Scale I posts at all in 2026. Tripura still has 39 Office Assistant posts; Manipur has none.

Green bars: the state gained Scale I posts; terracotta bars: it lost them. Bars are scaled to the largest change (Andhra Pradesh, +400). Changes are our arithmetic from IBPS Annexure I, 27.09.2025 and 25.09.2026.
Three readings matter. First, the biggest 2026 pools are Gujarat (600), Uttar Pradesh (425), Andhra Pradesh (400), Bihar (394) and Odisha (375) — together 2,194 (our sum), just over half of all Scale I posts. Second, all three of 2025’s 500-post states shrank: Karnataka to 300, Rajasthan to 250 and Uttar Pradesh to 425. Third, Andhra Pradesh had no Scale I vacancy in 2025, so there is no 2025 cut-off for it at all; anyone quoting an Andhra Pradesh “previous year cut-off” is quoting 2024 or earlier. In Jammu & Kashmir the 2025 figure itself moved during the cycle, from 15 in the Annexure of 01.09.2025 to 36 in the final one.
| How the 2025 (XIV) table moved | Annexure 01.09.2025 | Annexure 27.09.2025 (final) |
|---|---|---|
| Scale I, all states | 3,907 | 3,928 |
| Scale I, Jammu & Kashmir | 15 | 36 |
| Scale III, all states | 199 | 202 |
Category split of the 4,256 Scale I posts
Annexure I splits each state’s Scale I posts by category and marks, within those, the posts reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities under four heads (HI, OC, VI, ID). IBPS prints the state rows but no all-India total row; the totals below are our sums, and they match the category totals Careerpower reports.
| Category | Scale I posts | Share |
|---|---|---|
| General | 1,752 | 41.2% |
| OBC (non-creamy layer) | 1,139 | 26.8% |
| SC | 627 | 14.7% |
| EWS | 420 | 9.9% |
| ST | 318 | 7.5% |
| Total | 4,256 | 100% |
| Of which PwBD (HI / OC / VI / ID) | 210 (60 / 48 / 51 / 51) | 4.9% |
The split is not uniform. Rajasthan reserves 38 of its 250 Scale I posts for PwBD candidates, including 16 under the ID head; Nagaland’s 2 posts are both ST; Arunachal Pradesh’s 15 include no ST post. Always read your own state’s row rather than applying national percentages.

Your state’s 2026 posts at a glance
Pick the state or UT you applied for (or plan to). The tool reads the official Annexure I of 25.09.2026 and shows every post, the Scale I category split and the local language its RRB prescribes.
Vacancies are indicative: IBPS allots against the vacancies RRBs actually report. Scale I and Office Assistant allotment is restricted to the RRBs of the state you opted for.
Every state, every cadre (25.09.2026)
The Scale I pool is only one of five. If you are also applying for Office Assistant (a separate application with its own fee, which IBPS permits), or you have the officer experience for Scale II or III, this is the full picture per state. Specialist Scale II here is IT, Chartered Accountant, Law, Treasury Manager, Marketing and Agriculture together.

What the swing means when you choose a state
For Scale I you are bound to the state you pick: IBPS allots within its RRBs only, and “provisionally allotted candidates … may be posted anywhere” within that bank’s area. Three practical points follow. One, the local-language rule decides which states are realistic: proficiency in the language the state’s RRB prescribes is an essential qualification for Scale I (see the eligibility guide in this series). Two, interview calls are capped at “three times of the declared vacancies in each state” per category, so a state that fell from 250 to 55 posts — Kerala — can call at most 165 candidates across all categories for interview, against up to 750 in 2025 (our arithmetic: three times the posts). Three, a state that grew sharply may see its cut-off fall, but there is no official cut-off data to prove it; we set the reported 2025 cut-offs against the 2026 change in a separate guide.
Vacancies can still move before allotment. IBPS says the figures are indicative and that allotment will be on the basis of actual vacancies reported by the RRBs; in 2025 the Scale I total rose from 3,907 at notification to 3,928 by 27 September 2025. Watch for later versions of Annexure I on the IBPS CRP RRBs-XV page.
How many IBPS RRB Officer Scale I vacancies are there in 2026?

None. Andhra Pradesh has 400 in 2026, the largest gain of any state.
Can I be posted outside my chosen state as an RRB Scale I officer?
Allotment for Scale I is restricted to the RRBs of the state you opted for; within the allotted RRB you may be posted anywhere.
How many Scale I posts are reserved for PwBD candidates in 2026?
210 across the four PwBD heads, counted within the category totals (our sum of the state rows).
