Checked 28 September 2026. From Veeva's certification page, product pages and its September 2026 Training Guide price list, and the 2026 Program and Policy Guide. Prices are in USD; Veeva publishes no INR price.
Veeva prices its certification in US dollars and publishes no rupee price, so some Indian pages guess ("$250 to $400 depending on your region") or leave out the parts that cost the most. The official figures are simple: $300 per attempt for each Administrator and specialty exam on sale, courses from $950 to $4,750 a seat, and a $300 annual maintenance fee to keep any credential alive. This guide totals every route, shows what a retake really costs, explains who is exempt from the first maintenance fee, and gives you a calculator that uses your own exchange rate. Remember that only Veeva customers, partners, employees and customer-paid consultants can buy — usually through their employer.

Where other pages get this wrong
Veeva publishes one USD price per exam: $300, not a regional range.
Commonly published instead: "Typically $250 to $400 USD, depending on your region" (a training institute's page), and claims that Associate exams are "free".
Veeva's certification page lists $300.00 USD for each Administrator and specialty exam. Associate exams carry no separate price only because they are included in a required $1,900 or $2,850 Discover course.

Veeva certification cost calculator (USD)
Choose a route, the number of attempts you want to budget for and how many years of the annual maintenance fee to include. Add your own rupee rate if you want an INR figure — we do not pre-fill one.
Prices from Veeva's certification page and September 2026 price list. Each retake is repurchased at the exam price; Veeva publishes no separate retake price for Associate exams, so extra Associate attempts are not priced here. With the first-credential option set, the first maintenance year counted is treated as the waived 2026 cycle. Our arithmetic; taxes, card charges and employer discounts are not included.
Retakes: every attempt is bought again
There is no discounted retake. Veeva's rule is "Each attempt will require repurchasing the certification exam", with a 7-day wait after the first and second fails. After three fails you must ask Veeva for permission, within 6 months of your original exam date. So the realistic budget for someone unsure of passing is not $300 but up to $900 over about two weeks. The maintenance exam is different: its first retake is free after a 24-hour wait.
Keeping it: the $300 maintenance fee
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Fee | $300 a year, one fee covers every credential you hold |
| Cycle | 1 May to 30 April (2026 cycle: 1 May 2026 – 30 April 2027) |
| Fee deadline | 30 April (it was 30 June until Veeva moved it for 2026). This is the fee deadline only: each maintenance exam is due by that credential's own expiry date |
| First-time holders | First credential earned on or after 1 January 2026: exempt from the 2026 fee; first bill 1 February 2027 |
| Not paid by the deadline | Deactivated after 1 June; reactivation on payment possible through 30 April 2027 |
| Refunds and transfers | No refunds; the renewal credit cannot be transferred to another person |
| Paid without an active credential | Buys Learning Library access only — it does not count toward renewal |
| Certification exam retake | Repurchase each attempt; 7-day wait; after 3 fails ask Veeva, within 6 months of the original exam date |
| Maintenance exam retake | 24-hour wait; first retake free |
| Legacy Veeva CRM Administrator | 2026 was the last fee year; valid to 31 December 2029 with no maintenance exams |
From the Program and Policy Guide 2026 (pp.10–11), the certification FAQ and the Certification Maintenance Fee page. The renewal guide in this series explains the maintenance exam itself.
Over three years, a single Vault Platform Administrator credential earned exam-only in 2026 costs $300 for the exam plus $300 a year from the 2027 cycle — our arithmetic, assuming a first-attempt pass and a first credential. Someone who adds a second credential pays nothing extra to maintain it, because the fee covers all credentials. The legacy Veeva CRM Administrator credential is the exception: 2026 was its last maintenance-fee year, and it stays valid to 31 December 2029 with no further maintenance exams.
Who usually pays, and what to ask your employer
Questions worth asking before you pay yourself
- Does the company already hold training credits or a private-class arrangement? Veeva runs private classes for large teams on request.
- Will the company buy the exam, or reimburse it after a pass?
- Is your account on the company email domain? It must be, for eligibility.
- Who pays the $300 maintenance fee next April — you or the company? The credential is personal and follows you.
- If you are new: is this your first Veeva credential in 2026? Then there is no 2026 maintenance fee to budget.
Our checklist, built from Veeva's published rules.
For rupee planning, convert at the rate your bank or card will actually charge on the day, plus any foreign-transaction fee. We deliberately do not print a rupee total: the exchange rate moves, and a stale conversion on a page like this would be wrong within weeks.
Practise it, don't just read it
Cutting the risk of a $300 retake is the cheapest saving on this page. Test yourself by domain before you buy the exam.
The ProSyllabus Veeva Vault library has 13 quizzes of 10 questions, all for the Vault Platform Administrator exam: objects and fields, object relationships and data integrity, document types, UI, layouts and search, users, groups and security profiles, the security model and e-signatures, applying the security model, document lifecycles, object lifecycles and workflows, lifecycle states and actions, reports and dashboards, configuration migration, and data loading and troubleshooting. They are written from public Vault documentation and are not Veeva exam items. There are no Vault CRM, EDC, DQS or Quality quizzes yet.
How much does the Vault Platform Administrator exam cost?
$300 USD per attempt, on Veeva's certification page.
What is the Veeva certification fee in rupees?
Veeva publishes prices in USD only. Multiply by the rate your bank charges on the day; the calculator on this page does this with a rate you enter.
Is the Vault CRM Associate exam free?
It has no separate price, but it is only available through the Discover Vault CRM course, which costs $1,900 a seat and includes one attempt.
How much is a Veeva exam retake?
The full exam price again: each attempt must be repurchased, $300 for the Administrator and specialty exams, with a 7-day wait between attempts.
How much is the VPTF course?
$4,750 a seat for Vault Platform Technical Foundations, a 5-day instructor-led or self-paced course.
Is training required before buying the admin exam?
No. Administrator exams have an exam-only option; training is recommended but not required.
How much does it cost to renew a Veeva certification?
The $300 annual Certification Maintenance Fee, which covers all credentials you hold, plus passing each credential's maintenance exam.
Do new 2026 holders pay the maintenance fee?
No, not for 2026. People whose first credential was earned on or after 1 January 2026 are exempt from the 2026 cycle fee; their first bill arrives 1 February 2027.
Can I get a refund on the maintenance fee?
No. Veeva's page says no refunds are provided, and the credit cannot be transferred.
Are there discounts?
Veeva's training guide mentions volume discounts and private classes for teams; details are arranged through training@veeva.com, not published as prices.
