Checked 3 October 2026. Checked on cbse.gov.in on 3 October 2026: no tentative or final 2027 date sheet had been published. Past dates are from CBSE’s date sheets and result press notes. This page is updated in place when CBSE publishes 2027 dates.
As of 3 October 2026, CBSE has not published the Class 10 date sheet for 2027. What is official is the List of Candidates (LOC) for the first exam, open from 24 September to 21 October 2026, and the statement in that circular that the first board exam is held in February-March. Any specific 2027 exam date you see elsewhere is a guess. Below is the official record: the 2026 date sheets for the main and second exams, the result dates from 2023 to 2026, and how long each step took.
cbse.gov.in; LOC circular 17.09.2026; post-result notice 05.08.2026.

Where other pages get this wrong
No 2027 Class 10 date sheet, practical window or result date has been announced by CBSE.
Commonly published instead: Our own notice board (and many other pages) quoting a 2027 date sheet “around October” or practicals “in November-December” for winter-bound schools and “January 2027” for the rest, sourced to coaching sites.
These are expectations based on 2026, not CBSE statements. In the last cycle CBSE issued tentative date sheets on 24.09.2025, after an LOC that closed on 30.09.2025. This year the LOC opened only on 24.09.2026 and runs to 21.10.2026, so the 2025 timing is no guide. Wait for the notice on cbse.gov.in.
How the 2026 date sheet came out
The 2026 cycle shows the steps CBSE follows. It issued tentative date sheets on 24 September 2025, based on Class 9 registration data, so that students could plan; then a final date sheet on 30 October 2025; then a revised Class 10 date sheet on 31 December 2025 after papers fixed for 3 March 2026 were moved. Practicals and internal assessment ran from 1 January to 14 February 2026, and from 6 November to 6 December 2025 in winter-bound schools.

Where other pages get this wrong
The 2026 main exam ended on 11 March 2026, not 10 March.
Commonly published instead: Reports of the 2026 result describing the first exam as held “from February 17 to March 10”.
CBSE moved the Class 10 papers fixed for 3 March 2026 to 11 March 2026 (notice dated 29.12.2025) and its revised date sheet of 31.12.2025 ends on Wednesday 11 March 2026. The post-result notice and the second-exam press release agree on the 17 February start.
Result dates, 2023 to 2026
| Year | Main exam | Result | Days from last paper to result | Pass % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 15 Feb to 21 Mar 2023 | 12 May 2023 | 52 | 93.12 |
| 2024 | 15 Feb to 13 Mar 2024 | 13 May 2024 | 61 | 93.60 |
| 2025 | 15 Feb to 18 Mar 2025 | 13 May 2025 | 56 | 93.66 |
| 2026 main | 17 Feb to 11 Mar 2026 | 15 Apr 2026 | 35 | 93.70 (reported) |
| 2026 second | 15 to 21 May 2026 | 18 Jul 2026 | 58 | 96.78 combined |
Exam and result dates are from CBSE’s press notes and notices; day counts are our arithmetic. The 2023 to 2025 pass percentages are CBSE’s figures for full-subject candidates: 20,16,779 of 21,65,805 in 2023, 20,95,467 of 22,38,827 in 2024 and 22,21,636 of 23,71,939 in 2025. For the 2026 main exam we found no CBSE press release with statistics; 93.70% is a reported figure. The 96.78% is CBSE’s combined figure after both 2026 exams.
Our arithmetic on CBSE’s dates. The two-exam scheme brought the main result forward by about four weeks so that the second exam could follow in May.
The pattern matters for planning. Under the two-exam scheme the main result came in mid-April, the second-exam entry window opened the next day and lasted five days, and the second exam followed a month later. A family that expects the old mid-May result may miss that window.
