Checked 29 September 2026. Fees from the Inteleos Exam Fee Schedule (2026-06); dates from the 2026 Exam Calendar. ARDMS says the international fee may change without notice, and the 2027 calendar was not published on 29 September 2026. INR figures are ours at 95.98 per USD (28 September 2026).
For a candidate in India or the Gulf, the Fetal Echocardiography (FE) exam costs USD 350 to sit once: the USD 300 exam fee plus a USD 50 international test-centre fee. Add SPI if you have not passed it (or your SPI pass falls outside the 5-year rule and you hold no active credential) and the pair comes to USD 675. This guide lays out every fee line from ARDMS's schedule, converts them to rupees at one stated rate, walks through the 2026 calendar from application to score release, and lists what keeping the credential costs in time and money afterwards. Official fees from the Inteleos fee schedule, score-verification and CME-audit pages. Rupee figures are our conversion at 95.98 INR per USD, a USD/INR cross-rate derived from the ECB's 28 September 2026 euro reference rates and served by Frankfurter, rounded; your bank's rate, card charges and any tax will differ, and we found no official statement of the currency an Indian card is charged in. The renewal fee appears only on a third-party page; Inteleos's current renewal page gives the deadline but no amount. Inteleos's own practice-test page prices each 30-question test at USD 50 and lists Abdomen and SPI versions only, so we found no official FE practice test.
Where other pages get this wrong
SPI costs USD 275 and FE costs USD 300.
Commonly published instead: "SPI exam is $250 and the FE exam is $275" (a third-party certification page).
The Inteleos Exam Fee Schedule (2026-06) lists SPI at $275 and FE at $300, each including a $100 non-refundable processing fee, plus $50 per exam at an international centre.
ARDMS FE cost calculator (USD)
Choose the exams you still need, where you will test and how many FE attempts to budget for (SPI is counted once). Add a rupee rate if you want an INR figure; we leave it blank because rates move.
Official fees from the Inteleos fee schedule (FE USD 300, SPI USD 275, each including a non-refundable USD 100; international test-centre fee USD 50 per exam scheduled; score verification USD 35). Our arithmetic. Excludes renewal, transcript evaluation, travel, bank or card charges and any tax.
| Scenario (our arithmetic) | USD |
|---|---|
| FE once, Indian or Gulf centre | 350 |
| FE twice, Indian or Gulf centre | 700 |
| SPI + FE once each, Indian or Gulf centre | 675 |
| SPI once + FE twice, Indian or Gulf centre | 1,025 |
| SPI twice + FE twice, Indian or Gulf centre | 1,350 |
| FE once, US centre | 300 |
Every retake is a new application and a new exam fee. The international fee is charged when you schedule, per exam.
Refunds, cancellation and rescheduling
The USD 100 in each exam fee is non-refundable, and so is the USD 50 international fee. Beyond that, Inteleos says refund "eligibility, deadlines, and amounts vary by exam" and points to the fee schedule — which states no refund amount for ARDMS exams. You must wait 24 hours after cancelling before requesting a refund in the portal; the current refunds page states that earliest time but no latest deadline, so request promptly and check the fee schedule. Rescheduling or cancelling an appointment with Pearson — a separate rule — needs at least 96 hours' notice before the appointment. And an approved application can still be audited: if ARDMS then finds you ineligible, it may cancel with "a partial refund offered". The practical rule is to settle eligibility before you pay, not after.
The 2026 FE calendar, step by step
| Step | Cycle 1 (2026) | Cycle 2 (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Application opens | 9 December 2025 | 16 June 2026 |
| Application closes | 17 February 2026 | 25 August 2026 |
| Registration (scheduling) opens | 9 December 2025 | 16 June 2026 |
| Registration closes | 26 March 2026 | 1 October 2026 |
| Exam window | 3–26 March 2026 | 8 September – 1 October 2026 |
| Score release | 1 June 2026 | 30 November 2026 |
From the Inteleos Exam Calendar 2026. On 29 September 2026 the FE page read "Applications are closed. Check back soon for upcoming application windows." The 2027 windows were not published; the 2026 pattern (December for March, June for September) is only a pattern.
Counted from the calendar dates in the table above. ARDMS describes the score wait as "approximately 60 days", published "on the following Monday or next business day".
| Stage | Days (ours) |
|---|---|
| Application window: 70 days elapsed from open to close, 71 calendar days counted inclusively | 70 / 71 |
| Application close to exam window | 14 |
| Exam window (inclusive) | 24 |
| Window close to scores, Cycle 1 / Cycle 2 | 67 / 60 |
Two timing rules sit between those dates. ARDMS approves your application with an Exam Confirmation Letter; Pearson VUE says ARDMS sends it "within four weeks from receipt of the completed application", while Inteleos says approval "can take several weeks" for some exams — plan on four weeks. Then, for windowed exams including FE, you must schedule within 30 days of the letter. Apply early in the window: an application submitted in the last fortnight leaves little room if ARDMS asks for another document.

| Check-in | Photo ID, digital signature, palm-vein scan, test-day photo, hand-held scanner screening |
| ID in India | Original, unexpired government ID such as a passport or driver's licence. Aadhaar only as the physical PVC card issued by UIDAI: Pearson's policy (v1.2, May 2026) excludes laminated-paper, privately printed and photocopied Aadhaar |
| Testing outside your country | Without a primary ID from the testing country, bring your passport (Roman characters) |
| Name | Must match your Inteleos account |
| What you may bring in | Nothing: no belongings, study materials, food or drink |
| Reschedule or cancel | Contact Pearson at least 96 hours before the appointment |
| Refund request | In the portal, no sooner than 24 hours after cancelling |
| Approval letter (ECL) | Pearson: within four weeks of a complete application; Inteleos: can take several weeks |

| Accommodations | Requested with the application; documentation dated within 5 years; review up to 14 days |
From Inteleos's test-centre admission, acceptable ID, scheduling and accommodations pages. A Pearson locator search for the ARDMS client showed 30 locations near New Delhi on 29 September 2026; it does not say which of them seat FE in a given window, so check when you schedule. We could not capture Gulf sites.
After you pass: what the credential costs to keep
| Obligation | Rule |
|---|---|
| Annual renewal | Renewal opens in September; fees run on the calendar year; first-time December certificants have until 28 February; non-payment means revocation |
| Renewal fee amount | Not on the current official page; USD 105 reported by a third party |
| CME | 25 credits per 3-year period ending on or after 31 December 2026 (30 for periods ending on or before 31 December 2025); need not be specialty specific |
| CME waiver | 15 credits waived for a new certification, and for a new specialty under a certification already held |
| Knowledge Confirmation | Four quizzes of 10 questions per specialty per year, at least 80% cumulative by 31 December; no fee; starts the full year after the award |
| CME audit | Random selection each March; documents by 30 April; revocation if short; reinstatement by 1 August with a USD 150 fee |
| Records | Keep CME certificates at least four years |
| Annual attestation | By 31 December each year, in the portal: that you will complete the CME period and have stayed compliant with the ARDMS compliance policies, with any violation reported |
| Everything else | This table is not the full list; Inteleos's MOC pages are the authority, including keeping your contact details current |
From Inteleos's MOC, annual renewal, annual attestation, CME, CME audit, Knowledge Confirmation and MOC FAQ pages. The FAQ says the cut from 30 to 25 CME "helps balance the additional time needed for the annual Knowledge Confirmation requirement".
Where other pages get this wrong
CME is 25 credits per three-year period for periods ending on or after 31 December 2026.
Commonly published instead: "30 hours every three years" (a third-party certification page).
Inteleos's MOC FAQ: 30 credits applied to CME periods ending on or before 31 December 2025; periods ending on or after 31 December 2026 need 25, not specialty specific.
Put together, a candidate passing SPI and FE at an Indian centre on the first attempt pays USD 675 in exam fees (about ₹64,787 at the rate above), then an annual renewal fee and 25 CME credits over each three-year period, plus four short Knowledge Confirmation quizzes a year from the year after the award. Transcript evaluation, if your education is from outside the US, is a separate cost set by the evaluation organisation; ARDMS publishes no figure for it.

What is the ARDMS annual renewal fee?
Inteleos's current renewal page gives no amount. USD 105 is reported by a third-party site only.
How many CME credits do I need?
25 per three-year period for periods ending on or after 31 December 2026; they do not need to be specialty specific.
