People search for "MDU PG CET" or "MDUCEE", but Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak does not run one common exam. It holds a separate entrance test for each PG programme or group of programmes — Management, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Law, Pharmacy, and single papers for most M.A. and M.Sc. subjects — for admission to its own teaching departments in Rohtak and its Gurugram campus (MDU-CPAS). Every paper except M.A. Fine Arts (Drawing & Painting) follows the same rules: 100 objective questions, one mark each, 75 minutes, offline on an OMR sheet, with no negative marking. This guide sets out those rules, the 2026 timetable and the section patterns MDU publishes.

Where other pages get this wrong
MDU's PG entrance tests had no negative marking in 2025 or 2026: both prospectuses carry the same sentence.
Commonly published instead: "The 2025 exam had −0.25 negative marking; 2026 has none", and "Forensic Sciences paper is 90 minutes".
The 2025-26 and 2026-27 prospectuses both state that there is no negative marking, and every paper except M.A. Fine Arts is 75 minutes.

M.A. Fine Arts appears in a 75-minute slot although the prospectus gives its paper 210 minutes, and a 3 Jul 2026 notice moved it to 12:30–1:20 — Fine Arts candidates should go by the admit card and the department. Group papers: one test, several programmes
Where a department runs several related programmes, MDU sets one paper for all of them and you choose the programme at counselling, in merit order. For Psychology, Music, the Life Sciences departments, IHTM, IMSAR and MDU-CPAS, the prospectus counts the group as a single programme for the application fee; any other extra programme costs ₹400 (₹100 for reserved candidates of Haryana). From the PG Prospectus 2026-27, pp. 9–10, 43. The Life Sciences paper is set on unit-wise weights across all its subjects, so a Botany graduate and a Biochemistry graduate sit the same questions.
Two practical consequences follow. First, a single score decides your options across the whole group: in the Life Sciences counselling the higher-ranked candidates pick Biotechnology or Zoology first, and later ranks choose from what remains. Second, you cannot improve your chances by applying to two programmes in the same group — it is one paper and one rank.

MDU's MBA programmes (Rohtak and Gurugram) admit on MDU's own Management-group entrance test.
Commonly published instead: "MDUCEE is a common exam for seven Haryana universities" and "MBA admission through CMAT, CAT or MAT, with GD/PI".
The prospectus covers only MDU's own departments and MDU-CPAS, and lists no CAT, CMAT, MAT, GD or interview for MBA admission.

MDU's 2-year PG entrance tests ran on 13–17 July 2026, with the result on 20 July.
Commonly published instead: "MDUCEE 2026 exam June 10–16, result June 22", with a second "July cycle" for those who missed June.
The June dates are MDU's 4-year UG and 5-year LL.B. entrance tests. The 2026-27 prospectus lists a single PG test window, 13–17 July 2026.
On the day
What the prospectus requires
- Admit card and a photo ID; biometric attendance is taken.
- A blue or black ball-point pen — the OMR sheet is carbonless and the booklet carries a code (A, B, C or D).
- No calculators, log tables, slide rules or phones.
- Be seated early: no entry 15 minutes after the start, and nobody leaves before the end.
- Postponement requests are not entertained.

Official previous papers
MDU does something many universities do not: it uploads the question booklet and answer key of every PG paper, usually on the day of the test, with revised keys a few days later — every PG paper sat on 13–17 July 2026 was on its list by the 17th. These are the best practice material available, because they are the real papers in the real format. Download the last two years for your paper from MDU's question-booklet list, time yourself at 75 minutes, and mark with the official key.

What is the MDU PG entrance exam pattern?
