MAH B.Des CET has official cut-offs: after each CAP round the CET Cell publishes, for each institute and each category in which a seat was allotted, the merit number and score of the last candidate allotted a seat. This guide gives the Round I figures for 2025 and 2026 — the first-round closing scores, which are what you need to judge where your score is competitive — read directly from the CET Cell's lists. Scores are out of 200. Later rounds often went lower — Aditya's General seat closed at 110 in Round I and at 73 in Round III of 2026 — and more than half the CAP seats were still empty after the fourth round.

How to read a cut-off
Each cell shows the State General Merit Number of the last candidate admitted, with their merit score in brackets. The category code tells you the seat: a first letter G is General (open to everyone), L is Ladies; then OPEN, SC, ST, VJ, NT1–NT3, OBC or SEBC; a final S means State Level. So "GOPENS 92 (108.00)" means the last General open State-Level seat went to the candidate ranked 92nd in Maharashtra, with 108 out of 200. EWS, PWD, Defence, Orphan and minority seats have their own codes.

MIT Academy of Engineering held steady at 108. Aditya jumped from 66 to 110, and G. S. Mandal's rose from 65 to 78. The 2026 Maharashtra merit list was also longer — 366 names against 231 in 2025. Do not plan on last year's lowest figure; plan on the higher of the two years.

Marks per question from the 2026 syllabus: GK 1 mark, the other three MCQ sections 2 marks each; no negative marking. Closing scores are Round I, Maharashtra State Level seats, from the CET Cell's 2026-27 cut-off list — G = General (open to all), L = Ladies. With more than 350 CAP seats still vacant after Round IV in 2026, later rounds and institute-level admissions went further down the merit list; a new year's closing score will differ.
Two warnings with the checker. First, the Ladies figures are not a lower bar: in several colleges the last Ladies seat closed higher than the last General one, because relatively few Ladies seats were filled by high scorers. A woman can compete for both, which is why the checker takes the lower of the two for her. Second, these are Round I figures; many colleges admitted further down the list in later rounds and at the institute stage.

From the CET Cell's All India cut-off lists, CAP Round I. Because every UCEED scorer is ranked above every MAH-CET scorer on the All India list (136 UCEED candidates in 2026), the popular All India seats went to UCEED candidates.
How competitive is it really?
The merit lists on the CAP portal put the numbers in perspective (our counts from the final lists). The 2026 final Maharashtra list had 366 names — scores from 160 down to 8 — against 480 Maharashtra seats, and the All India list had 434 (136 UCEED, 298 MAH-CET) for 93 All India seats. In 2025 the lists had 231 and 263 names. The Maharashtra list was smaller than the Maharashtra seat pool, and hundreds of seats stayed vacant, but that does not guarantee anyone a seat — category, seat type, preferences and reporting all matter. The sharpest competition was for MIT Academy of Engineering and Aditya, whose General seats closed at 108 and 110 in Round I; aim above those figures, but no score guarantees admission. Women made up 291 of the 366 on the 2026 Maharashtra list.
Setting your target
- For MIT AOE or Aditya in Round I, aim for about 115–120 — a few marks above the recent closing score of 108–110.
- For Walchand, IDEAS, G. S. Mandal's or Rajarambapu, Round I closed between 64 and 78 in 2026.
- A score in the 90s in 2026 would have beaten the Round I General closing score everywhere except MIT AOE and Aditya.
- Your drawing marks count for half; practise Parts A and B as seriously as the MCQs.
