<p style="margin:0 0 16px;line-height:1.7">SIRI publishes each <strong>Indfødsretsprøven</strong> paper with its answer key after the sitting — the June 2026 paper appeared on the test day — and its preparation page holds the 13 papers from June 2020 to June 2026. That archive is the most valuable free resource for the citizenship test, because the test repeats itself: in the <strong>June 2026</strong> paper, <strong>24 of the 35 learning-material questions</strong> had closely matching wording in an earlier paper. We analysed all 13 papers from June 2020 to June 2026 — 570 questions — to show what repeats, what never does, and which questions candidates find hardest.</p>

<p style="margin:0 0 16px;line-height:1.7">The share of repeats has grown as the archive has grown — from 6 in November 2021 to 24 in June 2026. The reason is simple arithmetic: the learning material has a limited number of testable facts, and each new paper draws from the same pool. The current-affairs questions (36–40) are not designed to repeat — none did in our corpus — and are best studied from recent news; the values questions (41–45) repeat in theme and sometimes in wording. For the 35 learning-material questions, working through every past paper with its key is the best single use of study time.</p>

<p style="margin:0 0 16px;line-height:1.7"><ul style="margin:0 0 16px;padding-left:22px;line-height:1.7"><li><strong>Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the Realm (rigsfællesskabet)</strong> — in the learning-material block of every one of the 13 papers: the symbol in Greenland’s flag, the largest town, whether the constitution applies there, whether they are in the EU, population, the share of Greenland under ice.</li><li><strong>Dates.</strong> About 40 questions in the archive begin with “Hvornår” (“when”), and each paper carries between 11 and 22 questions with a year in the stem.</li><li><strong>Prime ministers and parties</strong> — which party a prime minister led, which decade, which party has governed longest.</li><li><strong>Culture as “what is X known for”</strong> — writers, film directors, architects, actors.</li><li><strong>Colonies</strong> — the Danish West Indies sold to the USA in 1917 (asked in November 2022 and November 2025), the slave trade to the Caribbean colonies (May 2023 and November 2024).</li></ul></p>

The hardest questions in SIRI’s samples

<p style="margin:0 0 16px;line-height:1.7">After each sitting SIRI publishes the share of a random sample that chose each answer. Matching those annexes to the answer keys shows which questions candidates get wrong. The pattern is consistent: the hardest items are prime ministers and parties, cultural figures, and facts that changed recently.</p>

<p style="margin:0 0 16px;line-height:1.7">The lesson of the November 2025 result deserves emphasis. Denmark abolished its EU defence opt-out in the 2022 referendum, the learning material says so, and yet only 20% of SIRI’s sample answered correctly that it no longer exists. Facts that changed recently are where a candidate’s general knowledge works against them. When you read the current edition, note every “since 2022”, “from 2025” and “after the 2026 election”.</p>

Current affairs: what questions 36–40 have asked

<p style="margin:0 0 16px;line-height:1.7">The five current-affairs questions cover events of significant interest in Danish news in roughly the last six months. We classified the 20 asked from November 2024 to June 2026: politics and government 10, sport 4 (Olympic golds in 2024, the handball player of the year, the 2025 Vuelta, Viktor Axelsen’s retirement), and one each on the royal family, an anniversary (80 years since liberation on 5 May 2025), prices, a security incident (drones closing Copenhagen Airport on 22 September 2025), the weather and an obituary. For 25 November 2026 the window is roughly late May to November 2026. Follow one Danish news source through the autumn and note elections, government decisions, royal events and major sporting results.</p>

<p style="margin:0 0 16px;line-height:1.7"><ol style="margin:0 0 16px;padding-left:22px;line-height:1.7"><li><strong>Start with the three most recent papers</strong> (June 2026, November 2025, May 2025) under real conditions: 45 minutes, no aids.</li><li><strong>Mark with the official key</strong> and record three numbers: correct in 1–35, in 36–40 and in 41–45 — and check you have at least 4 of 5 in the last block as well as 36 overall.</li><li><strong>For every wrong learning-material answer, find the page in the August 2026 edition</strong> — and check whether the fact has since changed.</li><li><strong>Work back through all 13 papers</strong>; the repeats will start to feel familiar, which is exactly the point.</li><li><strong>Ask your centre for a copy of your own answer booklet</strong> after the real test if you need to complain — it is free, and complaints to SIRI must be made within four weeks of the marking.</li></ol></p>
