Every PG programme in Kurukshetra University's teaching departments has a sanctioned intake split in the same way: 15% for the All India Category, open to everyone including Haryana, and 85% for bonafide residents of Haryana, divided between a Haryana general pool and reserved categories — two kinds of Scheduled Caste, two kinds of Backward Class, EWS and differently abled. On top of that sit supernumerary seats for sportspeople, NCC, NSS, migrants, international students and others. This guide gives the split, the seat matrix and first-year fee for 26 programmes, and the refund rule.

Women get 30% of seats, within every category, in M.P.Ed., B.P.Ed. and the PG Diploma in Yoga; differently-abled candidates are not considered for M.P.Ed. and B.P.Ed.

Who counts as a Haryana resident? The Handbook deems anyone who passed the qualifying examination from a university in Haryana to be a Haryana resident. Others need a Resident Certificate under the state's guidelines in the Handbook's Appendix A — for example, children of Haryana government employees and pensioners, those with a permanent home or at least 15 years' residence, or those born in the state. Category certificates (BC, EWS) and SC income certificates must be dated on or after 1 April 2026, and caste certificates come through Haryana's SARAL portal against your Parivar Pehchan Number.
From outside Haryana? Your seats are the All India Category — for example 18 of M.A. English's 120 (16 open + 2 EWS), or 20 of M.Com's 130 (18 + 2) — and you compete there with Haryana candidates, who may take AIC seats too. If you belong to a reserved category of another state, you compete as an open candidate. Two more things apply to you: if your degree is from a university outside Haryana's state universities and boards, you need an Eligibility Certificate from KUK's Registration Branch before provisional admission; and the supernumerary seats for international students do not cover candidates from other Indian states.

Two changes from 2025-26 matter: M.A. Economics went from 80 to 120 seats and M.A. Psychology from 50 to 60, while the two-year M.A. Business Economics no longer appears (only a one-year intake of 37). English, M.Com, MCA, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, LL.B., LL.M. and M.Pharmacy (45 seats across four specialisations) kept their intake. Intake can also rise during the year: in September 2026 a KUK notice on the IUMS portal added 10 LL.M. (SFS) seats, filled through a physical counselling on 16 September.
Supernumerary seats
Seats over and above the intake
- 2 for outstanding sportspersons; 1 NCC and 1 NSS (Republic Day Parade); 1 Kashmiri migrant and 1 Kashmiri Pandit (non-migrant); 1 single girl child (Haryana domicile).
- 15% for international students (10% foreign nationals, 5% wards of Indians in the Gulf and South-East Asia) — admitted without the entrance test.
- 15% "KG to PG" for students of the University Senior Secondary Model School.
- Tuition-fee waiver seats (up to 5%) in MCA for family income up to ₹8 lakh; 2 differently-abled seats in MFA.
Handbook 2026, pp. 73–77. Supernumerary seats generally do not apply in programmes regulated by AICTE, NCTE, PCI, BCI or RCI except where the Handbook says so. The Handbook prints, for example, 43 supernumerary seats on top of M.A. English's 120.

"Total fees 1st and 2nd Sem. per annum" from the Handbook 2026 (pp. 64–67) and 2025. Hostel and examination charges are separate. The Dean Academic Affairs' notices of June 2026 describe the revision as "generally in the range of 5–7% across most programmes" for new admissions, waive the migration fee from 2026-27 and leave hostel fees unchanged. For the programmes in this table our arithmetic gives more: about 8% for M.A., 7% for M.Sc. and M.Com, 9% for MCA and MBA and 10% for LL.B. and LL.M.

The MBA figures are worth a second look: MBA (Budgeted) and MBA (SFS) share one test, one GD and one interview, but the self-financing seat costs about ₹38,000 a year more. The budgeted seat is the cheaper one, and each programme is a separate application, so apply for both if you want both options.
Concessions, application fee and refunds
- Application: ₹1,200 per programme (₹300 for SC, BC and differently-abled candidates of Haryana only) and ₹500 (₹125) for each additional programme, paid online by net banking, UPI, RTGS/NEFT or CSC wallet — not by debit or credit card. Not refundable.
- Final List: a ₹100 online attendance fee to stay in the running after the Second List.
- SC students with parental income up to ₹2.5 lakh pay no fee under the post-matric scholarship route (undertaking required). No concession in SFS courses except 50% for university Group C/D employees.
- Refund: full refund if you cancel up to 30 Sep 2026; up to 31 Oct 2026 with a deduction of at most ₹1,000; after that, the UGC 2018 scale.
