Checked 25 September 2026. From the programme pages and general conditions of KUK's Handbook of Information 2026 (PG, UTDs). The Handbook prints some programmes with several alternative routes; the tool gives the headline route and the Handbook page decides.
Kurukshetra University does not have one PG eligibility rule. Each programme's page in the 2026 Handbook sets its own qualifying degree and minimum marks — 45% for several M.A. programmes, 50% for most others, 55% for the department's LL.M. and for M.Pharmacy — and a few print a relaxation for SC, ST and differently-abled candidates. Around those figures sit general rules on final-year candidates, re-appears, CGPA conversion and degrees from outside Haryana. This guide sets them out, with a checker.
KUK Handbook of Information 2026, programme pages and clauses 6.11–6.12.

| LL.B. (Professional) 3-year | Graduation (not a qualification taken directly through open school/open university without the basic qualification) | 45% (SC/ST/DA 40%) |
| LL.M. (Department of Law) | LL.B. | 55% (SC/ST/DA: pass) |
| LL.M. (SFS) | LL.B. (3- or 5-year); a re-appear makes you ineligible | 50% (SC/ST/DA: pass) |

| MHM&CT, MTTM | Bachelor's in any discipline | None printed |
From the programme pages of the Handbook 2026 (pp. 26–63). Where our summary shows no relaxed figure, check the programme page and the Handbook's general notes before assuming none applies to SC/ST/differently-abled candidates; several programmes also list subject-mark routes at 45%. The one-year Master's programmes for four-year Honours graduates have their own conditions and intakes.
Do I meet the minimum marks?
Minimums from KUK's 2026 Handbook. Where no relaxed figure is printed, the tool applies the general minimum; check the programme page of the Handbook for any relaxation. A CGPA with no conversion formula on the marksheet is multiplied by 9, as the Handbook says.
Reading the table for your own degree. A B.Com graduate with 50% can apply for M.Com, MBA, the 3-year LL.B. (45%) and the any-discipline M.A. programmes such as English, History or Public Administration — and for MHM&CT or MTTM, where no minimum is printed. A B.A. graduate needs Economics or Mathematics in all three years to be eligible for M.Com, but not for MBA. A B.Sc. graduate's options in the sciences mostly depend on the subject having run through all three years, though some programmes print alternatives (Chemistry, for instance, accepts at least 24 credits in the subject). Because the application fee is per programme (₹500 for each extra, ₹125 for SC/BC/differently-abled candidates of Haryana), it is worth applying for two or three programmes whose tests fall on different days.
Where other pages get this wrong
KUK's minimum marks differ by programme — 45% for M.A. Panjabi, Philosophy, Education and Yoga, 50% for English, History, M.Com and the sciences, 55% for LL.M. — and the SC/ST relaxation for MBA is to 47.5%.
Commonly published instead: A flat "relevant bachelor's degree with 50%" for every M.A./M.Sc./M.Com, "MBA 50% (45% SC/ST)", and a 3-year LL.B. SC/ST minimum of "42.75%".
The Handbook prints each programme separately: MBA 50% (47.5% SC/ST/DA), LL.B. 45% (40% SC/ST/DA), LL.M. 55% in the Department of Law and 50% in the SFS programme.
CGPA, final-year candidates and re-appears
General conditions in the Handbook
- CGPA. If your university's marksheet gives a CGPA but no formula to convert it, "by default, the CGPA shall be multiplied by 9" — so a CGPA of 6.0 counts as 54%, just above a 50% minimum.
- Final-year students may apply and take the test. You submit a result-awaited undertaking (Annexure XVIII) and must pass by the date the University notifies; in 2025 that date was 30 September.
- A UG re-appear allows only provisional admission to a two-year PG programme, and only if seats remain after all eligible candidates and there is no waiting list. It is not allowed for the one-year Master's or for LL.M. (SFS).
- Qualifications from outside Haryana's state universities and boards need an Eligibility Certificate from KUK's Registration Branch, obtained before provisional admission.
- Where the test is not held, and final results are awaited, you are ranked on the aggregate of all semesters except the last.
Two of these rules catch people out. The CGPA × 9 default is lower than the "× 10" conversion some universities print (GNDU Amritsar, for one), so check your marksheet: if it states its own formula, that formula applies; if not, 9 does. And the re-appear rule is weak: a candidate with a pending UG paper is admitted only after every clear candidate, so in the papers that drew the most candidates in 2026 — MCA, MBA, LL.B., M.A. English — it can mean waiting for seats left vacant in the later rounds.
Haryana residence and category certificates
| Question | Handbook 2026 |
|---|---|
| Am I a Haryana resident for the 85% State Quota? | Yes if you passed the qualifying exam from a university in Haryana; otherwise with a Resident Certificate under Appendix A (for example, children of Haryana government employees or pensioners, 15 years' residence, or born in the state) |
| How recent must my certificates be? | BC, EWS, tuition-fee-waiver and SC income certificates issued on or after 1 April 2026 |
| Where do caste certificates come from? | Haryana's SARAL portal, linked to your Parivar Pehchan Number |
| Can a reserved-category candidate from another state use reservation? | No; they may compete for All India Category seats |
| What counts as differently abled? | At least 40% disability, verified by a University Medical Board; not considered for M.P.Ed. and B.P.Ed. |

Practise it, don't just read it
Once you know you are eligible, ranking follows your programme's route — for most, the entrance test (plus GD/interview for MBA, a practical for Music, GPAT first for M.Pharmacy). Timed practice in your paper's subjects is where the test marks come from.
The ProSyllabus KUK PG entrance library has practice quizzes for English, Commerce, Economics, History and Chemistry, each with an AI analysis of what you got wrong.

Yes, with a result-awaited undertaking; you must pass by the date KUK notifies.
Can I take admission in KUK with a re-appear?
Only provisionally in a two-year PG programme, after all eligible candidates and if no waiting list exists; not in LL.M. (SFS) or one-year Master's.
How does KUK convert CGPA to percentage?
By your university's printed formula; if none is printed, the CGPA is multiplied by 9.
Do I need an eligibility certificate for KUK?
Yes, if your degree is from a university outside Haryana's state universities and boards.
Is 45% enough for KUK M.A.?
For M.A. Panjabi, Philosophy, Education and Yoga, yes. English and History need 50%; Public Administration and Sociology need 50% aggregate or one of the subject-mark routes on their Handbook page.
