IIMC Zero to Hero: The 2026 Media Roadmap
Dreaming of joining the Harvard of Media in India? IIMC is where the country's top journalists and communication experts are forged.

With CUET PG now being the primary gateway, your preparation needs to be a mix of General Awareness, Analytical Reasoning, and Media Literacy. This roadmap covers everything from the COQP17 syllabus to the final interview rounds.
1. Understanding the Entrance Landscape
For 2026, IIMC admissions are split into two distinct paths:

Path A: CUET PG (NTA)
For English, Hindi, Radio & TV, Advertising & PR, and Digital Media.
• Paper Code: COQP17
• Pattern: 75 MCQs in 90 Minutes.

Path B: IIMC Regional Test
For Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, and Urdu Journalism.
• Pattern: Descriptive & Objective (2 Hours).

Marking Scheme (CUET): +4 for correct, -1 for wrong.
2. High-Yield Syllabus Breakdown (COQP17)
The CUET PG paper for Mass Communication focuses on your Social Consciousness and Analytical Ability.

The Aspiring Journalist:
Focus 60% on Current Public Issues. Read editorials daily to develop an analytical viewpoint—it helps immensely in the Interview/GD rounds.
