IIMC's MA/PG Diploma admissions (Journalism, Advertising & PR, New Media, Development Communication) for 2026-27 run through CUET-PG rather than a separate IIMC test: CUET-PG was held March 6-27, results came out April 24, and IIMC counselling/choice-filling ran May 26 to June 7, 2026.

IIMC still conducts its own institutional entrance test, but only for the PG Diploma in Journalism in four regional languages -- Odia, Marathi, Malayalam and Urdu -- offered at its regional campuses, separately from the CUET-PG-based programmes.

With regular counselling largely complete, IIMC's Amravati campus opened a walk-in spot-admission round for vacant 2026-27 seats, alongside supernumerary-seat applications and lateral-entry admissions into the second year of the MA-NMC and CCBM programmes.

IIMC's SPOT Round counselling for 2026-27 is live. Registration and choice filling on the official admissions portal runs from July 10 to July 15, 2026, with the SPOT round seat allotment result scheduled for July 16, 2026. Vacancy position and process-flow documents are on the portal.

Admission to IIMC's six MA programmes and four PG Diploma programmes for 2026-27 is on CUET PG 2026 merit, not a separate IIMC test. Main counselling registration and choice filling opened on May 26, 2026 and ran to June 7, 2026, followed by seat-allotment rounds.

IIMC's 2026-27 intake is 552 seats across six campuses: New Delhi, Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amravati, Jammu and Kottayam. New MA offerings this cycle include Health Communication, Media and Communication Governance, and Corporate Communication and Brand Management.

Candidates allotted seats in the earlier rounds had to pay the first-semester fee minus the seat-acceptance amount by June 27, 2026, or lose the seat. Round-wise opening and closing cut-off ranks for 2026, the prospectus and the SPOT round vacancy list are all published on the admissions portal.
