Checked 25 September 2026. Result dates and pass percentages are from GNDU's own result gazettes (read for dates and totals only; they name students). Re-evaluation rules are from the online instructions on gnduadmissions.org and GNDU's older printed form, which differ.
GNDU publishes semester results in two ways: a result by roll number on its college portal, and a public result gazette for each class and semester, dated and signed by the Professor Incharge (Examinations). The gazette date matters more than most students realise, because the 18-day re-evaluation window runs from it. This guide gives the gazette dates of the last two B.Com sessions, the pass percentages GNDU printed for December 2025, and the re-evaluation rules — including a clause that makes it unclear whether semester papers can be re-evaluated at all.

How to check your result
Two routes
- By roll number: collegeadmissions.gndu.ac.in → Results & Gazette → Semester/Annual System. Choose the year and month, course type "CBGS New (College Courses)", your course and semester, then enter your roll number.
- The gazette: the same menu lists each class's gazette PDF. B.Com (the 2024 and later scheme) is class 1211; Semester I is 121101, Semester II 121102, and so on.
- Even-semester UG results have also been posted on a second GNDU results page, des.gndu.ac.in/USIC/GNDUEXAMRESULTS.aspx (the bare des.gndu.ac.in address does not open a page).
- To verify a result for an employer or another university, GNDU's verification page takes the registration number in the format 9999.XXX/X.99999, not the roll number.
Where other pages get this wrong
GNDU semester results are checked by roll number on collegeadmissions.gndu.ac.in, and the May 2026 B.Com gazettes are dated 30 Jul, 19 Aug and 25 Aug 2026.
Commonly published instead: Results "expectedly in August 2026", checked on online.gndu.ac.in "with registered email ID and password".
The result page asks for the course, semester and roll number — no email login — and the gazettes carry their own declaration dates.
How long results take
| Result | Gazette date | Time after the last paper |
|---|---|---|
| B.Com Semester I, December 2025 | 2 Apr 2026 | about 3½ months |
| B.Com Semester III, December 2025 | 7 Apr 2026 | about 4 months |
| B.Com Semester V, December 2025 | 13 Apr 2026 | about 4 months |
| B.Com Semester VI, May 2026 | 30 Jul 2026 | about 7 weeks |
| B.Com Semester II, May 2026 | 19 Aug 2026 | about 10 weeks |
| B.Com Semester IV, May 2026 | 25 Aug 2026 | about 11 weeks |
Gazette dates from the dated signature on each B.Com (class 1211) gazette. "Time after the last paper" is our rough estimate from the date sheets, counted from each semester's last scheduled paper: Semester I 12 Dec, III 9 Dec and V 12 Dec 2025; Semester VI 10 Jun, IV 11 Jun and II 12 Jun 2026 — the last two after GNDU moved the 26 May and 28 May papers (Semester IV Punjabi and Semester II English) into June (notices 317/CA-2 and 358/CA-2 of 25 May 2026).
The pattern is worth knowing for planning: the final-semester result (Semester VI) came first in 2026 — the one that matters most for jobs and admissions — while December results came in April — after the next semester's classes had started. So a Semester I student in 2026-27 will probably be well into Semester II before learning whether any paper needs a re-appear. That is also why the promotion rules count papers across two semesters rather than one.
What share of students passed (December 2025)
Pass statements printed on GNDU's result gazettes (all colleges, candidates who appeared in the full set of subjects). For Semesters I and V the printed percentage differs slightly from the printed counts; we show both. The May 2026 gazettes carried no pass statement.
Nearly half of first-semester B.Com students across GNDU's colleges did not clear every paper in December 2025. The paper-level figures show where: each paper on its own had a pass rate between 76.7% and 89.2%, but a student has to pass all of them, and the weakest papers were the two numerical ones.
From the Semester I gazette (121101). Paper totals include re-appear candidates, so they are larger than the number who sat the full semester.
| Semester | Lowest paper pass rates shown | Highest shown |
|---|---|---|
| III (Dec 2025) | Corporate Accounting 83.71%; Company Law 87.10% | Functional Management 95.11% |
| V (Dec 2025) | Direct Tax Laws 92.00% | Management Accounting 95.76%; Auditing 98.40% |
Examples from the Semester III and V gazettes. We quote totals only; the gazettes also list students by name, which we do not reproduce.
Reading the result
| On the result or gazette | Meaning |
|---|---|
| SGPA / CGPA | Grade-point averages on a 10-point scale; × 10 gives the percentage |
| R | Re-appear |
| * | Re-appear in the marked paper(s) |
| RL | Result late — declared later than the rest |
| # | Credits short of the degree |
| F grade | Below 35% or absent; the paper must be cleared at a re-appear |

Re-evaluation: the rules
| Item | Current online instructions | Older printed form (2013) |
|---|---|---|
| How to apply | Online, from the college student portal ("Apply for Reevaluation") | Form by registered post |
| Fee | ₹1,200 per answer book + ₹200 per form | ₹1,000 per answer book; form ₹200 |
| Deadline | Within 18 days of the date on the result gazette | Within 15 days + 3 working days |
| Withdrawal | Within 10 days of applying | Same |
| Refund | None | None |
| How it is marked | Two examiners separately; the average of the two nearest of the three marks (original included) is final, up or down | Same |
| Seeing your answer book | For identification only, ₹1,000 per book, written request within 15 days of the re-evaluation result | Same |
| Cannot be re-evaluated | Practicals, sessional/internal assessment, projects, dissertations, vivas; "semester examinations where grading system has been adopted"; papers marked by an external and an internal examiner | Same |
From the "General Instructions" of GNDU's online re-evaluation application (gnduadmissions.org) and the older printed form on gndu.ac.in. There is no separate re-totalling service in either.
The unclear point. Both versions exclude "semester examinations where grading system has been adopted" — and the B.Com is a graded semester programme. Yet the same B.Com gazettes carry a line about re-evaluation results being declared, and the portal offers re-evaluation. No GNDU notice we found says plainly whether college B.Com semester papers are covered. Because the fee is not refunded, ask your college's examination clerk before you apply, and apply only if the answer is yes.
Re-evaluation deadline and fee
Enter the date printed on your result gazette (under the Professor Incharge's signature) and how many answer books you want re-evaluated. Figures are from the current online re-evaluation instructions.
GNDU's older printed form gave 15 days plus 3 working days and ₹1,000 a book. The instructions also exclude "semester examinations where grading system has been adopted" — confirm with your college that your paper can be re-evaluated before you pay; the fee is not refunded.
After the result: what to do with an F
- An F in a December (odd-semester) paper is cleared at the next December; an F in a May paper at the next May. GNDU holds no special supplementary examinations.
- The re-appear paper goes on your regular semester exam form, through your college, in the same form window as everyone else — for December 2026 that window closed without late fee on 25 Sep 2026 (Press Note 715/Comp-Sec of 17 Aug 2026; late-fee slabs ran to 13 Oct — see the exam-form guide).
- Only annual-system papers (special chance, additional subject, improvement) use a paper form at the university cash counter.
- Check your promotion position: to enter Semester III you need 50% of the Semester I and II papers, or every paper of one of those semesters.
- Keep the gazette date: the 18-day re-evaluation clock starts there, not on the day you first see your marks.
Is it worth it? Think about the averaging rule before you pay. Your re-evaluated mark is the average of the two closest of three marks, and it replaces the original "whether up or down". Re-evaluation helps most when you are a few marks short of 35 in a paper you know you answered fully — and remember the result already includes any grace marks you qualified for (up to 1% of the aggregate, only if that is enough to pass), so an F is a miss that grace could not cover; it is a gamble when you already passed and want a better grade. The re-appear route — sitting the paper again with the next odd or even semester — is the alternative for a paper you did badly in.
Practise it, don't just read it
In December 2025 the Semester I papers most often failed were Financial Accounting and Business Statistics, and a re-appear in them is sat a year later with the next batch. Timed topic quizzes on those two papers are the practical way to keep them fresh until then.
The ProSyllabus GNDU B.Com library has Semester I quizzes on Financial Accounting, Business Organisation, Business Statistics, computer fundamentals and English, each with an AI analysis of what you got wrong.
