NIFT will hold its Combined Convocation 2026 in New Delhi on September 1, 2026, with President Droupadi Murmu as chief guest and Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh attending; graduating students from 18 campuses will be conferred degrees, with top performers across programmes honoured with gold medals.

NIFT's spot round counselling for 2026 UG/PG admissions ran registration and document verification from July 19-22, choice filling till July 23, with seat allotment declared July 24, fee payment due by July 27, and reporting to campuses on July 29, 2026, filling seats left vacant after the three regular rounds.

New UG and PG students admitted for the 2026-27 academic session began physical reporting and multi-day orientation programmes across NIFT campuses, including Patna, Shillong and Gandhinagar, starting July 29, 2026, marking the start of the new academic year.

Round 3 choice filling and correction is open right now, from July 11 to July 13, 2026, on nift.admissions.nic.in for UG, UG Lateral and PG counselling. The Round 3 seat allotment result is due on July 15, and allotted candidates must accept the seat by July 17, 11:59 pm.

The Round 2 seat allotment result for NIFT UG, PG and UG Lateral counselling 2026 was announced on July 7, 2026. Candidates allotted a seat had to submit their willingness and pay the seat acceptance fee by July 9, failing which the seat stood cancelled.

The first round of NIFT 2026 counselling seat allotment was released on June 27, 2026. NIFT has since issued separate notices extending the academic fee payment deadlines for both Round 1 and Round 2, so check the notices tab before assuming a deadline has passed.

Choice filling is done by logging in with your application number and password on the counselling portal. NIFT publishes every round result, fee extension and withdrawal instruction as a dated notice on nift.admissions.nic.in, so read the current notice list before acting on any secondhand date.
