Smart Preparation Strategy
Most toppers recommend starting 6–9 months before the exam. Here's how to structure your effort:
Start Early, Stay Consistent
Begin 6–9 months out. Dedicate weekdays to concepts and weekends to full-length practice sessions.
Mock Tests are Non-Negotiable
Give at least 8–10 full-length mocks in the last 6 weeks. Analyse every mistake — not just your score.
Daily News Reading
Read The Hindu, Indian Express, or Economic Times every day. Maintain a short current affairs notebook.
Don't Neglect GA & I&E
Most candidates lose marks here. Study previous CMAT papers for GK patterns and read about top Indian startups.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to questions every CMAT 2027 aspirant is asking:
Yes. CMAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) — the same body that runs JEE Main and NEET. NTA took over CMAT from AICTE in 2019.
CMAT is conducted once a year, typically in January. There is no second session or additional attempt window unlike JEE or CUET.
For premier CMAT colleges like GIM, JBIMS, SIMSREE, and PUMBA, you need a 99+ percentile. For strong mid-tier institutes, a score of 280–320 out of 400 (roughly 90–95 percentile) is a solid target.
Yes — +4 for correct and −1 for wrong. Unattempted questions carry zero marks. Avoid random guessing, especially in GA and I&E where you may feel uncertain.
Yes, final-year students can appear for CMAT. Admission is confirmed only after submitting proof of degree completion — you must finish your graduation before the academic session begins.
Over 1,000 AICTE-approved MBA/PGDM institutes across India accept CMAT scores. Several state governments also use CMAT scores for their own MBA counselling processes.
Your raw score is total marks earned out of 400. Your percentile shows the percentage of candidates you scored above. Colleges rank applicants by percentile, not by raw score.
