SSC declared the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) for the SSC CHSL 2025 cycle on August 17, 2026: 3,515 candidates were provisionally recommended against 3,522 reported vacancies across LDC, JSA, Postal/Sorting Assistant and DEO posts in various central ministries and departments.

Candidates on the CHSL 2025 FRTA list had to book a sliding-process slot on ssc.gov.in between August 20 and 22, 2026, and were required to attend the sliding process in person at regional office cities between September 1 and 3, 2026; absentees are excluded from the final result.

As of late August 2026, SSC had not released the notification for a new SSC CHSL 2026 recruitment cycle, well past its originally planned April 30, 2026 release date; no fresh release date has been announced, so candidates are advised to track ssc.gov.in directly for it.

As per the SSC annual calendar for 2026-27, the CHSL 2026 notification was slated for 30 April 2026 with applications closing 31 May 2026, and the Tier 1 computer-based test is scheduled across the July-September 2026 window. Candidates should confirm exact dates on ssc.gov.in.

The CHSL Tier 1 window is open right now, so admit cards are being released region-wise. SSC typically publishes the exam city intimation slip about a week ahead and the hall ticket only three to five days before the exam, on the regional SSC portals.

CHSL 2026 recruits for Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator posts. Eligibility is Class 12 pass, age 18 to 27 years, and the fee is Rs 100 for General, OBC and EWS male candidates, with women, SC, ST, PwD and ex-servicemen exempt.

Selection is by written test plus a skill or typing test, with no interview. Tier 2 for CHSL 2026 is expected around December 2026 to January 2027 and the Tier 1 result is expected in October 2026; both remain tentative until SSC confirms.

SSC CHSL 2026 notification will be issued on April 30, 2026 on ssc.gov.in, with the online application window running from April 30 to May 31, 2026.

Tier 1 CBT examination is scheduled for the July–September 2026 window as per the SSC calendar.
