EPFO Section Supervisor LDCE Vacancies by Zone and Exam History

Checked 29 September 2026. Vacancy figures are the anticipated vacancies as on 31.12.2024 in Annexure-I of the notice of 07.06.2024. EPFO called for vacancies up to 31.12.2025 on 10.07.2025 but had published no new figures or notice by 29 September 2026.

EPFO notified 1,006 vacancies for the Section Supervisor LDCE in its notice of 07.06.2024: anticipated vacancies as on 31.12.2024, across 22 States and Zones. The exam was held on 22.11.2024 through the National Testing Agency, and marks were issued on 24.02.2025. In July 2025 Head Office asked zones for the vacancies up to 31.12.2025, saying it was "proposed to conduct" the next LDCE; no notice has followed on the circulars page. This guide gives the full 2024 vacancy table, with the SC, ST, UR and PwBD splits, a lookup for your zone, and a dated history of every round we could trace in EPFO's own documents since the 2017 scheme. ProSyllabus is an independent study site, not part of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation or the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Every rule here is quoted or summarised from EPFO circulars and Gazette notifications; your zonal office and EPFO Head Office decide every individual case.

Where other pages get this wrong

The 1,006 figure is the number of vacancies for the 2024 round (anticipated to 31.12.2024). It is not the vacancy count for the next exam, which EPFO has not published.

Commonly published instead: Pages that carry 1,006 forward as the vacancy figure for a 2025 or 2026 exam.

EPFO's letter of 10.07.2025 only asked zones to report category-wise vacancies as on 31.12.2025, within seven days, with a PwBD breakup. The resulting figures have not been published.

Grand total14292772100621/12/10/8

Every row and the grand total in this table add up; we checked the sums in code before printing it. Five zones, Maharashtra (146), Tamil Nadu (106), Uttar Pradesh (90), Bengaluru (Karnataka) (88) and Delhi (84), hold 514 of the 1,006 vacancies, just over half (our arithmetic). At the other end, Goa and Chhattisgarh had 9 each, and Goa had no SC vacancy. Because the merit list is drawn per category per zone, those numbers are the real size of the contest you enter: an ST candidate in Madhya Pradesh had no ST vacancy to compete for in 2024, while an ST candidate in Tamil Nadu had 18.

2024 vacancies for your State or Zone

Annexure-I of the notice of 07.06.2024 (official). Shares and the waiting-list ceiling are our arithmetic. These are 2024 figures, not the next round's.

PwBD and category totals

CategoryVacanciesShare of 1,006
SC14214.1% (our arithmetic)
ST929.1% (our arithmetic)
UR77276.7% (our arithmetic)
PwBD (a) blindness and low vision21Shown separately in Annexure-I
PwBD (b) deaf and hard of hearing12Shown separately in Annexure-I
PwBD (c) locomotor disability10Shown separately in Annexure-I
PwBD (d) and (e) other and multiple8Shown separately in Annexure-I

The table prints PwBD figures in their own columns beside the SC/ST/UR count; it does not say whether they are within those numbers or in addition. The grand total of 1,006 equals SC + ST + UR alone, so on our reading the 51 PwBD vacancies sit within the 1,006. The PwBD sub-category descriptions above follow the standard DoPT groupings and are our gloss; Annexure-I prints only the letters.

Candidates and the 2024 result

EPFO's letter of 24.02.2025, headed as a declaration of result giving the marks of the candidates, is a list of marks of eligible candidates, with Paper I, Paper II and total for each. It runs to 37 list pages in the scan. Our OCR count of rows with an application number is 2,449; several pages read poorly, so that is a floor, not the total, and EPFO prints no total. We have not used any individual row. Against 1,006 notified vacancies that is at least 2.4 candidates with marks per vacancy nationally (our arithmetic), but the ratio in any one zone and category can be very different, and the list excludes the provisional candidates whose marks were withheld under the Tribunal orders and three more held pending eligibility.

The marks list refers back to two earlier Head Office letters on the result: No. A-34012/1/2022-Exam/385 dated 27.12.2024 and No. A-34012/2/2022-EXAM/387 dated 31.12.2024. Neither appears on EPFO's circulars page and we could not read either, so we print no pass count or zone figures from them. If you need the 2024 selection figures for your zone, ask your zonal office for the result letter. No zone cut-off table appears anywhere we looked. Promotions follow zone by zone through DPCs, and those orders are not published centrally.

Two patterns stand out from the history, both our reading of the dates above. The rounds are irregular: an exam announced for August 2018 was held in July 2019, and the next was in November 2024, more than five years later. And results take time: the 2019 exam's objection window opened more than two years after the exam, and its results came in 2022. Anyone eligible should not assume there will be another chance soon after this one.

Who will conduct the next round

The 2024 round went through the National Testing Agency. On 02.03.2026, PIB reported that EPFO's Central Board of Trustees "approved IBPS as an agency for conducting direct recruitment and promotion examinations on behalf of EPFO". The first use we found is the 2026 IBPS registration portal for EPFO, titled "Promotion to the post of Section Officer, Lower Division Clerk & Junior Secretariat Assistant", which took registrations from 20.03.2026 to 01.04.2026 (read from an archived copy of 28.03.2026; the live page no longer loads). So IBPS ran EPFO's 2026 promotion registrations for Section Officer and for LDC/JSA together. Nothing has been issued for the Section Supervisor LDCE, and whether its next round will use IBPS, NTA or another agency is not published.

How many vacancies were there in the EPFO Section Supervisor LDCE?

1,006 for the 2024 round: 142 SC, 92 ST and 772 UR, across 22 States and Zones, anticipated as on 31.12.2024.

Which zone had the most vacancies?

Maharashtra, with 146, followed by Tamil Nadu (106), Uttar Pradesh (90), Bengaluru (Karnataka) (88) and Delhi (84).

How many vacancies are there for the next exam?

Not published. EPFO asked zones for vacancies up to 31.12.2025 in July 2025 but had not published figures by 29 September 2026.

When is the next Section Supervisor LDCE?

Not published. No notice had been issued on EPFO's circulars page by 29 September 2026.

When was the last exam held?

On 22.11.2024, through the National Testing Agency. Marks of eligible candidates were issued on 24.02.2025.

Is there OBC reservation in the vacancies?

The 2024 vacancy table has only SC, ST and UR columns, plus a PwBD breakup. It has no OBC or EWS column.

How many candidates have published marks for the 2024 exam?

EPFO does not print a total, and it has not published how many sat. Our OCR count of the marks list finds 2,449 rows with marks, a floor because some pages read poorly. Provisional candidates whose marks were withheld are not in the list.

Will IBPS conduct the next exam?

PIB reported that EPFO approved IBPS as an agency for recruitment and promotion exams in March 2026, and IBPS then took registrations for EPFO's Section Officer and LDC/JSA promotion exams from 20.03.2026 to 01.04.2026. Which agency will run the next Section Supervisor LDCE is not published.
