Checked 30 September 2026. High until 25 November 2026: SIU can extend registration, and the programme deadlines for this cycle are not yet published. The test dates and fee are printed in the bulletin; re-check the important-dates page before paying.
SNAP 2026 registration and payment close on Wednesday 25 November 2026. The tests are on Sunday 13 December, Saturday 19 December and Saturday 26 December 2026, and you may sit up to three of them; your higher score is used. The fee is ₹2,550 for each test plus ₹1,000 for each programme you apply to, with government taxes extra. The result is due on Tuesday 12 January 2027. Two traps catch candidates every year: paying the SNAP fee without registering for any programme, and missing a programme's own deadline, which in the last cycle fell before the tests for three institutes. ProSyllabus is an independent study site. It is not part of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), the Symbiosis Test Secretariat that conducts SNAP, or any Symbiosis institute. Every rule here is quoted or summarised from snaptest.org, the SNAP 2026 bulletin or an institute's own published document, and those documents decide every case.
SNAP 2026 bulletin and the snaptest.org important-dates page, re-checked 30 September 2026.
Where other pages get this wrong
The SNAP 2026 fee is ₹2,550 per test, and the three tests are all in December: 13, 19 and 26 December 2026.
Commonly published instead: Older pages, including our own SNAP notice board until it is corrected, print ₹2,250 per attempt, tentative dates of 5, 13 and 19 December, or "three windows in December-January".
₹2,250 was the SNAP 2025 fee, and 6, 14 and 20 December were the 2025 test dates. The SNAP 2026 bulletin and important-dates page give ₹2,550 and 13, 19 and 26 December 2026.

Test timings are not published yet; the bulletin says they will be printed on each admit card. The test is held in 79 cities. Test date and test city are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the bulletin says no request to change either will be entertained once you have paid. The home page adds that test-slot booking is mandatory through the access link you receive after completing the application. So the earlier you pay, the better your chance of the date and city you want.
The fee: two separate payments
The bulletin describes two fees, and both are needed. The SNAP registration fee is ₹2,550 per test. The programme registration fee is ₹1,000 for each programme you want to be considered for. Government taxes are added to both "as and when applicable". Both are non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment is through the Billdesk or Easebuzz gateways, or by demand draft.
| Your plan | SNAP fee | Programme fees | Total before tax |
|---|---|---|---|
| One test, one programme | ₹2,550 | ₹1,000 | ₹3,550 |
| One test, three programmes | ₹2,550 | ₹3,000 | ₹5,550 |
| Two tests, three programmes | ₹5,100 | ₹3,000 | ₹8,100 |
| Three tests, three programmes | ₹7,650 | ₹3,000 | ₹10,650 |
| Three tests, five programmes | ₹7,650 | ₹5,000 | ₹12,650 |
Our arithmetic on the bulletin rates, before tax. The bulletin is blunt about the most expensive mistake: "payment of only the SNAP registration fee will not make you eligible for shortlisting in any programme, regardless of your SNAP score." A 99th-percentile score earns nothing if no programme fee was paid by that programme's closing date.
Programme deadlines: the second clock
Each institute sets its own closing date for its programme fee. The bulletin says a programme fee can still be paid through the SNAP website after 25 November, up to that programme's own closing date, and tells candidates to check each institute's website for it. The 2026-cycle deadlines are not published yet. The last cycle's, from the SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27, show how far apart they can be, and that some fall before the tests.
| Institute | Programme fee closed (2025 cycle) | Against the 2025 tests (6, 14, 20 Dec) and result (9 Jan) |
|---|---|---|
| SIBM Pune | 5 Dec 2025 | Before Test 1 |
| SCMHRD Pune | 5 Dec 2025 | Before Test 1 |
| SIIB Pune | 13 Dec 2025 | Before Test 2 |
| SCIT Pune | 19 Dec 2025 | Before Test 3 |
| SIHS Pune | 25 Dec 2025 | After all tests |
| SIMS Pune, SIDTM Pune | 8 Jan 2026 | Before the result |
| SIBM Noida | 9 Jan 2026 | Result day |
| SIBM Hyderabad | 12 Jan 2026 | After the result |
| SIOM Nashik, SSBF Pune | 14 Jan 2026 | After the result |
| SICSR Pune | 15 Jan 2026 | After the result |
| SIBM Nagpur | 16 Jan 2026 | After the result |
| SIMC Pune, SSSS Pune | 19 Jan 2026 | After the result |
| SSCANS Pune | 13 Feb 2026 | After the result |
| SIBM Bengaluru | Not found in the prospectus | Shortlist was 16 Jan 2026 |
The prospectus marks all these dates tentative, and they belong to the last cycle. Our reading, not an SIU rule: if SIBM Pune or SCMHRD is on your list, pay their programme fee with your SNAP fee rather than waiting for a test score, because last year their window shut before the first test. For the institutes whose deadline came after the result, you could wait for your score; the 2026 dates will be on each institute's website.
Best of three: what the extra tests buy
You may book one, two or all three tests. The bulletin says that if you appear for more than one, "the higher score will be considered for the final percentile calculation and there will be no normalization". The same paragraph also says the question papers "will be normalised for the level of difficulty across all three tests". Both sentences are official; we read the first as about how scores are used and the second as about how papers are set, but the bulletin does not say so. The pattern guide in this series quotes the paragraph in full.
A second test costs ₹2,550 plus tax and buys one thing: another chance at a higher score. It does not add marks. It helps most if your first test goes badly for a reason you can fix in a week, such as timing or section order. Each extra test must be booked, and slots are allotted first-come, first-served, so a late decision may not get your preferred city for the later dates.
SNAP, CAT and XAT side by side
| SNAP 2026 | CAT 2026 | XAT 2027 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Test date | 13, 19 and 26 Dec 2026 (best of up to three) | Sunday 29 Nov 2026 | Sunday 3 Jan 2027 |
| Fee | ₹2,550 per test + ₹1,000 per programme (taxes extra) | ₹2,700 (₹1,350 reserved categories) | ₹2,300 + ₹200 per XLRI programme |
| Paper | 60 questions, 60 minutes, four options | Three sections, computer-based | About 95 questions, five options |
| Used by | Symbiosis International University programmes only | IIMs and many other schools | XLRI and XAMI members, 250+ schools |
| Registration | Open to 25 Nov 2026 | Closed 22 Sep 2026 | Open to 6 Dec 2026 |
SNAP is used only for Symbiosis programmes, and the bulletin says the SNAP 2026 score is valid only for admission in 2027-28. CAT 2026 falls two weeks before the first SNAP test and XAT 2027 a week after the last, so many candidates sit all three. The SNAP paper is the shortest of the three by a wide margin, which is a reason to practise it separately rather than assume CAT practice transfers.
Eligibility to register
The general rule is a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks, or 45% for SC and ST candidates, from a recognised university. Several programmes add conditions of their own, from an engineering degree to two years' work experience; the selection guide in this series lists them. Foreign nationals, OCI and PIO candidates do not take SNAP; they apply through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education and take an English proficiency test instead. The bulletin warns that SIU will not refund fees paid for a programme you are not eligible for, so check each programme before paying for it.
Practise it, don't just read it
Seventy-odd days to Test 1 is enough to fix accuracy in the sections you already know. Start with the reading and reasoning quizzes.
Two SNAP quizzes are live on ProSyllabus today, 10 questions each: Reading Comprehension Inference Fundamentals and Critical Reasoning Assumptions Advanced Challenge. They cover General English and reasoning. There is no quiz yet for Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency or for the new Ethics, Morality and Values section.
