AIAPGET AACCC Counselling: Rounds, Seat Matrix, Fees and Exit Rules

AACCC runs the all-India-quota counselling after AIAPGET: three rounds and a stray round. The 2025-26 seat matrices, fees and exit rules are below; the 2026-27 schedule is not published yet.

Checked 7 October 2026. AACCC had not posted the PG Information Bulletin or schedule for 2026-27 on 7 October 2026 (its PG pages said "No Documents found", last updated 6 October). Every date, fee and rule here is from the 2025-26 cycle and may change; the 2026 bulletin decides.

After AIAPGET, the seats that are not run by a state are counselled by AACCC, the Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee under NCISM and NCH. In the 2025-26 cycle it ran four stages for MD and MS in Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani and Siddha: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a Stray Vacancy Round in two phases (SVR-I and SVR-II), followed by spot rounds for the few seats still empty. NTA declared the AIAPGET 2026 result on 18 September 2026 (cut-off marks and percentiles are in our marks guide). On 7 October 2026 the AACCC site carried 2026-27 notices dated 27 August, 7 September and 1 October, but its PG bulletin and schedule pages were empty, so the 2026-27 round dates are not announced. We use the 2025-26 cycle as the worked example and say so each time.

Every rule below is quoted or summarised from their published documents, and every sum, share or bound is labelled as our own arithmetic. We print no candidate names or roll numbers.

What AACCC counsels, and what it does not

The first thing to settle is which seats are even in AACCC's hands. The Information Bulletin lists them and says the percentages are tentative, because the number of colleges in each round depends on permissions from NCISM, NCH or the university. Everything not on this list, including all state-quota seats and the all-india-quota seats of private colleges, is counselled by the state or union territory.

Seat poolWhat AACCC counselsReservation (bulletin)
Government and Government-Aided colleges of all states and UTs15% All India QuotaSC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC-NCL 27%, GEN-EWS 10%, PwBD 5%

All Deemed Universities, AYUSH PG seats100%None: all seats unreserved and domicile-free; some have minority or NRI quotas

Two lines in that table decide most surprises. First, the 15% AIQ share applies to government colleges only. The bulletin says counselling for AIQ PG seats of private ASU&H institutes is conducted by the respective State or UT authority, and that AACCC has no role in Central Government Nominee seats or foreign-quota seats. Second, deemed universities are 100% AACCC but reservation does not apply to them, which is why their seat rows in the matrix are all Open. Our state-quota guide takes the state side in detail.

Where other pages get this wrong

AACCC does not allot "all PG seats in India" after AIAPGET.

Commonly published instead: Pages that say the AACCC rank decides every Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani or Siddha MD or MS seat in the country.

The Information Bulletin 2025-26 gives AACCC 15% of government-college seats plus whole central institutions and deemed universities, and hands private-college AIQ seats and all state-quota seats to the state authority. NTA's own 2026 bulletin says the same: AACCC counsels AIQ seats; state authorities counsel state-quota seats on the same AIAPGET merit.

The rounds, in plain terms

All AACCC PG counselling is online, and the seat is allotted only from the choices you lock, in merit order. You register once, pay once, and fill choices afresh in each round: choices from an earlier round are treated as null and void. The table summarises the rules from the 2025-26 bulletin; the 2026 bulletin may change any of it.

StageRegistration and paymentUpgrade to a later round?Free exit?
Round 1Yes, for everyoneJoined candidates can ask for upgrade to Round 2 at reportingYes if allotted but not joined; yes if joined, until the Round 2 final result (excluding that date)
Round 2Round 1 candidates need not register again; new candidates payYes, up to Round 3No. An allotted candidate who does not join, or who leaves, forfeits the counselling fee
Round 3Fresh registration allowed; candidates who exited with forfeiture pay in full againNo upgrade from Round 3 to the stray roundNo. An allotted candidate must join or loses the fee and becomes ineligible for any Ayush PG counselling (Central, State, UT)
Stray Vacancy Round, phase IFresh registration only here; registered candidates fill choicesNone from Rounds 1, 2 or 3No
Stray Vacancy Round, phase IINone: no registration, no new choicesNoneNo. The choices from phase I are reused for the second allotment

Two details trip people up. First, in 2025-26 the vacant seats of deemed universities were folded into the common stray round instead of getting a separate round, and the bulletin says there is no institute-level stray counselling. The two-phase design follows a Gujarat High Court order of 30 November 2023 quoted in the bulletin. Second, a candidate already admitted through any state or UT counselling round is ineligible for the stray round, while a candidate who is not admitted anywhere can register fresh in SVR-I.

How the 2025-26 cycle actually ran

Schedules are intentions. The table sets the dates AACCC first published (5 September 2025) against what its notices show. Dates marked "file" are the upload dates encoded in the notice file names on the AACCC archive, which is our reading, not a printed result date.

StageFirst published scheduleWhat the notices show

Round 2Registration 1 to 6 Oct; result 9 Oct; reporting 10 to 16 OctFinal result published 9 Oct, then withheld on 10 Oct; revised schedules 13 Oct; revised final result 14 Oct (file)

SVR-IIAllotment 28 to 29 Nov; result 30 Nov; reporting 1 to 8 DecAyurveda provisional result 9 Dec; final result 10 Dec (file); we did not find SVR-II lists for the other streams in the archive
Spot roundsNot in the first scheduleInstitute-level spot rounds 17 to 22 Dec 2025; fresh registration 14 to 18 Jan 2026 with counselling to 23 Jan 2026

The reason for the Round 2 withdrawal is printed in AACCC's notice of 10 October 2025: non-compliance by a few participating institutes during online reporting of Round 1 meant many candidates could not fill their category seats in Round 2 choice filling, so the Round 2 final result of all four streams was withheld. By our comparison of file dates with the first schedule, the Round 3, SVR-I and SVR-II results then landed about nine or ten days after their first-published dates. Plan for slippage, not for the printed calendar. Security money came back in February 2026: AACCC's notice of 23 February says the security money of 5,587 PG candidates had been refunded.

Our sums of the seat rows. SVR-I had no published Siddha matrix in the archive. Each round lists the seats still vacant, so the counts shrink as seats fill.

Round 1 listed 1,413 seats and Round 2 listed 608, because Round 2 shows only what Round 1 left plus seats surrendered. By Round 3 the provisional matrix is down to 241, and the first stray phase to 50. Separately, AACCC publishes a "virtual" matrix that guesses at seats likely to be vacated by upgrades; we did not count those, so a candidate in Round 3 saw more seats than our table.

The 2025-26 seat matrix, stream by stream

A seat matrix row is a college, a branch, a category and a number of seats. Adding the Round 1 rows gives the table below. Ayurveda is two-thirds of all AIQ seats, and the deemed universities hold a larger share of Ayurveda than the government colleges do, which surprises most candidates who expect the 15% pool to dominate.

Of the 1,413 Round 1 seats, only 338 (23.9%) are AIQ Government seats. Central universities and national institutes hold 544 (38.5%) and deemed universities 524 (37.1%). Unani is almost entirely central institutions (164 of 205), and Siddha has just three colleges in the Round 1 seat-matrix PDF (our count). The 33 NRI-quota seats sit inside the deemed total (our sum of the Round 1 seat-matrix PDFs).

The big numbers are mostly deemed or private-quota seats: two Maharashtra and Karnataka deemed colleges hold 100 seats each, ahead of ITRA Jamnagar with 84 and BHU with 50. A large seat count does not make a seat easy or cheap: deemed fees are set by the university, and the bulletin tells candidates to confirm fees before filling choices.

Ayurveda branches in Round 1

Branch matters as much as college. This table lists every Ayurveda branch in the Round 1 matrix by seats, with its share of the 920 Ayurveda seats (our division).

Kayachikitsa leads with 94 seats and Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana follows with 88. Manasaroga and Rasayana together hold 13 seats. With so few seats, a single college row there can swing a whole rank band; our closing-rank guide shows what ranks those branches closed at.

Because deemed seats are unreserved, the Open share of the whole matrix is far above the 50% a reservation table suggests. Read the category split for the pool you are targeting, which the explorer below does.

Fees and security money

The bulletin sets two payments at registration, both online. The registration fee is not refundable. The security deposit is refunded after the whole counselling ends, to the same bank account or card that paid it, unless you forfeit it. Asking your card issuer for a chargeback instead delays the refund, the bulletin warns.

Opting for both pools means paying only the higher deemed-university amount, Rs 55,000, once. Changing from government to deemed counselling later is possible through the one-time registration unlocking facility, but the bulletin's own example shows the cost: an unreserved candidate who paid Rs 22,000, switched to deemed and paid Rs 55,000, then broke the scheme, forfeits the full Rs 77,000.

Exit rules: what costs you money and eligibility

This is the section to read twice before locking choices. The rules are strict, and they reach beyond AACCC: candidates who break them are listed as ineligible and the list is sent to state and UT counselling authorities.

SituationConsequence
Allotted in Round 1, do not joinFree exit. You can try Round 2 with fresh choices
Joined Round 1, want to leave before the Round 2 final resultFree exit until that result (excluding the result date)
Joined Round 1, not upgraded, leave from the Round 2 result up to 3 days before Round 3 startsCounselling fee forfeited; you may still join Round 3 or the stray round by paying the full fee again
Leave a joined seat between 3 days before Round 3 and the Round 3 final resultFee forfeited; ineligible for AACCC but still eligible for state or UT counselling
Leave a joined seat on or after the Round 3 final result dateFee forfeited; ineligible for any Ayush PG counselling (Central, State, UT) that year
Allotted in Round 3 or either stray phase, do not join or later withdrawFee forfeited; ineligible for any Ayush PG counselling that year
Upgraded seat not joinedFee forfeited; your earlier joined seat stands cancelled

The 1 October 2026 notice adds the mechanics for the coming cycle: if a candidate who joined through AACCC is later allotted a state seat, an MBBS, BDS or B.Sc seat, or simply withdraws, the college must process the surrender online using its institute admin login, and a candidate who is upgraded needs an online relieving letter from the earlier college. AACCC and NCISM or NCH say they will not approve admission, resignation or relieving made offline.

Practise it, don't just read it

Counselling is decided by rank, and rank is decided by what you score now. While AACCC finalises the 2026-27 schedule, topic quizzes are the quickest way to find a weak chapter before the next sitting or a re-attempt.

The ProSyllabus AIAPGET library has ten quizzes on eight topics: Tridosha and Prakriti Assessment, Basic Sharira Rachana Landmarks, Marma Classification and Clinical Significance, Samhita Kala and Kriya Kala, Dravyaguna: Rasa Panchaka, Agni and Ama Concepts, Srotas and Body Channels and Panchakarma Procedures. They cover Ayurveda basics only; there is nothing yet for Homoeopathy, Siddha or Unani, and these are practice quizzes, not past papers.

Frequently asked questions

How many rounds does AACCC counselling have for AIAPGET?

Four stages in the 2025-26 cycle: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a Stray Vacancy Round in two phases (SVR-I with registration and choice filling, SVR-II reusing those choices). Spot rounds followed for seats still vacant. The 2026-27 bulletin was not on the AACCC portal on 7 October 2026.

When will AACCC PG counselling 2026 start?

AACCC had not published a 2026-27 PG schedule by 7 October 2026. NTA declared the AIAPGET 2026 result on 18 September 2026. Last year the first schedule was published on 5 September 2025 with registration from 10 September, and it slipped later, so treat any date you read elsewhere as unofficial until AACCC posts it.

How much does AACCC PG registration cost?

In 2025-26: Rs 22,000 for UR, EWS or OBC-NCL candidates (Rs 2,000 non-refundable plus Rs 20,000 refundable security) for government, aided, central university and national institute seats; Rs 21,000 for SC, ST or PwBD; Rs 55,000 for anyone choosing deemed universities. The 2026 figures come with the 2026 bulletin.

Can I leave a seat after joining in Round 1?

Yes, free of charge, until the Round 2 final result (excluding that date). After that, leaving a Round 1 seat that was not upgraded forfeits the counselling fee, and leaving after the Round 3 final result also makes you ineligible for any Ayush PG counselling that year.

Does AACCC counsel private college seats?

Not the all-india-quota seats of private colleges: the bulletin says the respective State or UT counselling authority conducts those. AACCC does counsel deemed universities in full, and they are domicile-free and unreserved.

Is the stray vacancy round the last chance?

It was the last AACCC online round with allotments in 2025-26, but AACCC then ran institute-level spot rounds in December 2025 and a fresh-registration spot round on 14 to 23 January 2026. Spot-round seats were few, for example five Siddha seats at NIS Chennai.

Where does my security money go if I get no seat?

It is refunded after the whole counselling ends to the same bank account or card that paid it. AACCC announced the 2025-26 refund on 23 February 2026, saying 5,587 PG candidates had been refunded. Keep that account open until then.
