Queensland Coal Mining Law Exam (RSHQ Board of Examiners)

The written law exam set by the Board of Examiners at Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) for coal mining certificates of competency and site senior executive notices, such as deputy, open-cut examiner, underground mine manager and ventilation officer. RSHQ describes the coal mining exam as a 2-hour, 2-part closed book exam on the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017, with a pass mark of 70% for each part, and says written questions may be short answer or multiple choice depending on the competency. Candidates must pass the law exam before the oral panel assessment.
