HMRC Tax Specialist Programme (TSP) Practice Quiz

The Tax Specialist Programme (TSP) is the graduate and internal training scheme of HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) for future tax specialists in the UK. It is a structured 3 to 4 year programme that combines live tax casework with formal learning and assessment, and trainees who complete it are promoted to a Senior Tax Specialist role. No previous tax experience, accounting qualification or finance degree is required. Applicants need a minimum 2:2 degree or an equivalent Level 6 qualification, or must be a current civil servant recruited through fair and open competition who has completed probation. Applications are made through Civil Service Jobs, and selection runs in stages: the Civil Service Verbal and Numerical tests, the Civil Service Judgement Test, the Civil Service Styles Assessment and a half-day face-to-face assessment centre. HMRC says it may raise pass marks at any stage, and applications are assessed separately for each location, so no single pass mark is published.
