Departmental examination of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department that directly recruited Auditors and Accountants must pass to be confirmed in service. Accountants sit government accounts and codes, the mandate and functioning of accounts and entitlement offices, and service regulations; Auditors sit government and commercial accounting, the mandate of the CAG, service regulations, government audit and the basics of income tax and GST, with branch-specific papers for defence, commercial, railway and P&T audit. Both take an IT practical.
