FSOA oral assessment practice
Rehearse the interview and the negotiation, then read what to fix
The last stage is the Structured Interview and Negotiation Exercise, which the State Department says tests foreign-policy knowledge, diplomatic history and negotiation. Practise it here as a typed session: an assessor asks the questions, or a counterpart across the table pushes back on your position. At the end you get a written report: a practice score on five points, what worked, what to fix first, and a model to compare with.
3 full sessions with written reports, in FSOA Complete
- 3 full sessions: negotiation or structured interview, each with a written report
- 6 negotiation scenarios and 20 interview prompts with model answers
- The Written Exercise Pack: 6 timed briefings with model memos and feedback
- The knowledge kit and the clearance checklist

Is this how the real assessment works?
No official page publishes the redesigned format in detail. These sessions practise the two things it is named for, a structured interview and a negotiation, using scenarios and questions from our oral practice kit. They are typed, not spoken; say your answers aloud as you type if you can.
Who plays the assessor and the other side?
An AI model, instructed to stay in role, ask follow-ups and push back like a real counterpart. The report is also written by the model, against our five-point practice rubric built on the State Department's published competencies. The scores are practice scores, not an official FSOA score.
What do I get?
Three full sessions, each either a structured interview (four questions with follow-ups) or a negotiation (a brief and up to eight exchanges), each followed by a written report you can re-read on this page. One short session is free on every device before you buy. The three sessions come with FSOA Complete, which also holds the negotiation and interview practice set, the Written Exercise Pack, the knowledge kit and the clearance checklist.
How do I pay?
