All ten units of the common Paper 1 (Teaching & Research Aptitude) on seven pages — the rules, formulas, facts and worked past questions that carry the marks, in the order the official papers ask them: 160 questions of the last three official booklets counted by type, then logic, maths and data, ICT and environment, higher education and research, teaching and communication, and the traps.

The rest of it — pages 2 to 7

About an hour for one careful pass through all ten Paper 1 units, the formulas, the logic rules and the traps. Use it to guide revision, then go back to your mocks and books.

What is inside

  1. 1What Paper 1 asks — the most-asked question types in the last three official booklets, the exam at a glance, and the logic that decides it
  2. 2Logical reasoning — syllogisms, arguments, fallacies, the pramanas and hetvabhasas
  3. 3Mathematical reasoning and data interpretation — formulas, series, codes and the table set
  4. 4ICT terms and the environment facts
  5. 5Higher education, polity and research
  6. 6Teaching, communication and a method for the reading passage
  7. 7Seventeen traps, the last week, a 20-question timed self-test

Keep it through your prep, not just the last week

Before every mockRun through the formulas, rules and facts on the pages, then sit the test.
Whenever a topic slipsThe important points for it are in one place — no hunting through books and notes.
In the final daysOne read, start to finish — with the page-by-page plan below.

How to revise with it, page by page

D-7 to D-5Pages 1–2 — the question types and the logic rules, then timed reasoning sets.
D-4 to D-3Page 3 (formulas, series, the table set), then pages 4 and 5 — ICT, environment, higher education and research.
D-2Page 6 and one comprehension passage by its method; one full 180-minute mock, reviewing only the wrong answers.
D-1Page 7 — the seventeen traps and the 20-question self-test; recheck the admit card; no new topics.

Don't read it like a textbook. Read → close → recall → repeat.

What went into these seven pages

Written from the primary documents, not from other people's notes:

  • The UGC NET Bureau Paper-I booklets of January 2017, November 2017 and July 2018 — every count and past question in the kit — and the UGC NET Bureau Paper-I syllabus (code 00).
  • The NTA Information Bulletin UGC-NET June 2026 (as on 30.04.2026), the NTA calendar notice dated 16.09.2026, the UGC Ph.D. Regulations 2022 and NEP 2020.
  • Every point checked by two AI reviewers (ChatGPT and DeepSeek) against those texts; points they could not agree on were removed.

Three things most material still gets wrong

  1. Paper 1 has no one-hour clock. NTA gives Paper 1 and Paper 2 one 180-minute sitting with one timer.
  2. There is no Paper 1 pass mark — 40% in Paper 1 is not a "pass"; only the aggregate of both papers counts.
  3. No unit is low-weight: each carries five 2-mark questions, and each had exactly 16 of the 160 in the last three official booklets.

Every count is tied to the booklet and question number it comes from.

Questions

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. Page 1 is free to read in full at the top of this page — no sign-in, no payment. Every other page is shown beside it as a thumbnail, so you can see exactly how much there is before you pay for it.

Is it only for the last week before the exam?

No. It is a cheatsheet of the important points, formulas and facts. Keep it on your phone and use it all through your preparation: before a mock, when a topic slips, and for one full read in the final days.

How do I get it after paying?

It's yours the moment the payment clears, and you come straight back to this page with Download and Read buttons. It stays in your ProSyllabus account.

Can I pay with UPI?

Yes — UPI, cards or netbanking through Razorpay. If you already have ProSyllabus credits, they are used instead and nothing is charged.

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. Page 1 is on this page in full, free — the most-asked question types, the exam at a glance and the logic that decides it. It is the same page you would get.

Is this an official NTA document?

No. It is a revision kit compiled by ProSyllabus from the official Paper-I booklets, NTA's bulletin and notices, the UGC Paper-I syllabus and the regulations. Always check ugcnet.nta.nic.in and your admit card.

Does it cover my Paper 2 subject?

No. It covers Paper 1 only — the General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude that every UGC-NET candidate sits, all ten units. It does not cover any Paper 2 subject, or current affairs.

Why are the counts from 2017–2018?

Those are the last Paper-I booklets published with their questions. NTA, the exam setter since December 2018, publishes its keys as question IDs only, so later papers cannot be counted by type.

What does this kit cover?

Seven pages built by counting the 160 questions of the last three official Paper-I booklets by type: the rules that decide several types first, then maths and data, ICT and environment, higher education and research, teaching and communication, and the traps, with the past questions they come from. Every point was checked by two independent AI reviewers against the booklets, the NTA bulletin, the UGC syllabus and the regulations; what they could not agree on was cut.
