NATS Stage 2 Practice Test
Practice for the two online tests at NATS Stage 2: 6 listening clips about air traffic work with 24 questions on the details our clips ask you to catch first time (callsigns, numbers, times, changes and the final instruction), and judgement scenarios set in air traffic control training and work, with our rating and reason for every response.
Also in the NATS practice bundle with the knowledge test revision kit and interview prep.
The clips and scenarios
Each judgement scenario is two questions in a row: which action is most effective, then which is least effective, with our rating and reason for all four actions afterwards. Each clip plays inside the question, in the same test player and result page as every ProSyllabus test. Our advice: play it once, as if live, write down what you hear, then answer.

| Free scenarios · A rushed handover, a failing headset | Most and least effective action, with our rating and reason for each | 4 |
| Judgement scenarios 1-6 | Feedback, a skipped check, a shift change, a missed error, a request for answers, a half-heard message | 12 |

The clips are scripts we wrote, read by a synthetic British English voice and checked word for word against the script. Radio phrases in the clips such as "hold position", "I say again" and "correction" are used as the CAA's radiotelephony manual, CAP 413, uses them.
Stage 2 as NATS describes it
If you pass Stage 1, NATS invites you to an online Situational Judgement Test and an online Listening Comprehension test, with 14 days to complete them. Both are virtually proctored: with your consent the camera takes regular photos and the microphone detects the presence and duration of audio, so NATS advises you to limit detectable noise. If you pass Stage 2 and meet the minimum requirements, you are invited to the Stage 3 virtual assessment centre. If you do not pass a stage, you cannot reapply until the next recruitment campaign.

Questions
Are these the real NATS Stage 2 tests?
No. NATS has not published the format of either Stage 2 test. Every clip, question and scenario here is our own.
Will this make me pass?
We do not claim that it will. It gives you practice at catching callsigns, numbers, times, changes and final instructions, and at reasoning through work situations, with the reasoning behind every answer.
Can I replay the clips?
Yes, as often as you like. NATS has not said whether its own test lets you replay anything, so our advice is to play each clip once first, as if live.
How do I pay and get access?
One payment by card (or PayPal where offered). In the United Kingdom the price is charged in pounds; the checkout shows the exact amount before you pay. Access opens on this device straight after payment. Sign in afterwards to keep it on your account. Purchase policy.
