The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is conducted by the NTA for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in Central/State Universities and prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs.

2. Detailed Application Roadmap

STEP 01: Registration
Visit the NTA NCET portal. Use a unique email and mobile number. Generate your Application Number and set a strong password.
STEP 02: Subject & University Selection
Choose the specific ITEP course (B.A. B.Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. / B.Com. B.Ed.). Select your preferred Universities and RIEs (Regional Institutes of Education).
STEP 03: Document Uploads
Upload a recent photograph (80% face visible) and signature. Categorical certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) must be in PDF format.

3. Eligibility & The 4-Year ITEP Advantage

The ITEP is a dual-major holistic undergraduate degree which saves one year of your time compared to the traditional 3+2 year path.

  • Minimum Education: Passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026.
  • Minimum Marks: Generally 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 (relaxations for reserved categories).
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in NCET 2026.

4. Examination Pattern & Subject Sections

The NCET is a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 160 questions. The medium of the exam is available in 13 languages.
