NPTEL has opened enrolment for the July 2026 semester on SWAYAM, with 1,055 certification courses on offer including 132 new courses. Enrolment opened on 27 May 2026 and course content begins on 20 July 2026.

For the July 2026 semester, the exam registration deadline is 27 July 2026 for 4-week and 8-week courses, and 17 August 2026 for 12-week courses as well as the SET-2 batches of the 4-week and 8-week courses. Register through exams.nta.nic.in/swayam.

NTA will conduct the SWAYAM-NPTEL July 2026 semester certification exams on 19 and 20 September 2026 and on 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 October 2026. Exam fee is Rs 750 per course (Rs 600 for each additional course), reduced to Rs 500 and Rs 400 for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD candidates.

The previous cycle has just concluded: NTA held the SWAYAM January 2026 semester exams from 17 to 21 June 2026, with 22 and 23 June kept as buffer dates. Admit cards were issued on 12 June 2026 and results will be published on the NTA SWAYAM portal.

SWAYAM courses are free to learn; only the proctored certification exam is paid. Credit transfer is permitted where the candidate's university has adopted the UGC credit framework, so check with your institution before registering for the exam.

SWAYAM July 2026 semester course enrolment is open on swayam.gov.in with credit-transfer-eligible courses across UG, PG and skill streams from premier institutes.
