For the 2026-27 admission cycle, National Forensic Sciences University has discontinued its own NFAT entrance exam. UG and PG admissions instead run on scores from national-level tests such as CUET, JEE Main, CAT and CLAT depending on the programme, a major change from prior years' dedicated NFAT test.

NFSU's admission portal lists the 2026-27 application deadline as July 25, 2026, meaning fresh NFAT-based applications are not open for this cycle; candidates interested in future intakes should watch nfsu.ac.in and the admission portal for the next cycle's notice.

NFSU's official site continues to post fresh, unrelated admission notices - most recently a dual-degree LL.M. in Cyber Crime Law and Digital Forensics opened on August 17, 2026, and a Ph.D. entrance test notice for 2026-27 on August 10, 2026 - confirming the university's admissions activity is ongoing even without a standalone NFAT test this year.

NFSU announced the commencement of the counselling process for admissions to the academic year 2026-27 in a notice dated July 2, 2026. Merit declaration and counselling are being run through the university's CSAS admission portal, with all notices posted on the NFSU website.

The first provisional merit lists for 2026-27 were released on June 19, 2026, covering BBA LL.B. (Hons.), B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. in Cyber Law and Cyber Crime Investigation, and LL.M. in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Administration. The lists are provisional; a seat is confirmed only through counselling.

In a notice dated July 6, 2026 NFSU asked applicants not to visit or report to any NFSU campus with admission or seat-allotment queries until further communication. All updates are to be tracked online through the admission portal and the official notices page.

The Ph.D. admission brochure for the academic year 2026-27 was released on July 3, 2026. Separate application portals are live for national (Indian) applicants and for international and CIWGC applicants, alongside the merit list link, on the NFSU admission page.

NFSU admits largely on national test scores rather than a single university exam: CUET-UG for B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes, CLAT and CLAT PG for the law programmes, JEE Main for B.Tech and M.Tech Cyber Security, GATE for M.Tech and CAT for MBA. Registration on the CSAS portal is separate and mandatory.
