JoSAA 2026 counselling across 138 institutes, including 23 IITs, closed with the Round 5 seat allotment on 16 July 2026 -- the most recent notice on the official JEE Advanced site asked first-time Round 5 allottees to upload documents and pay the seat acceptance fee by 20 July 2026.

IITs do not take part in CSAB's post-JoSAA special rounds -- those cover only NITs, IIITs and GFTIs (114 institutes, thousands of vacant seats) -- so any IIT seat still vacant after JoSAA's five rounds has no further centralised counselling round for 2026-27 admissions.

Expected, not yet confirmed: per the Joint Admission Board's IIT rotation, IIT Delhi (which last organised the exam in 2020) is due to conduct JEE Advanced 2027, likely in mid-May 2027. The official exam date is expected only around December 2026 and is not yet posted on jeeadv.ac.in.

JoSAA 2026 is in its final rounds. Per the official JEE (Advanced) site, Round 4 seat acceptance with willingness and documents closes at 5 pm on July 13, 2026, the deadline to withdraw from JoSAA 2026 is 5 pm on July 14, 2026, and Round 5 allotment is scheduled for July 16.

JEE (Advanced) 2026 was conducted by IIT Roorkee on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with the Architecture Aptitude Test on June 4. Results were released in June 2026: Shubham Kumar topped with AIR 1 scoring 330 of 360, and 56,880 of the 1,79,694 candidates who took both papers qualified.

A structural change this cycle: IISc Bengaluru's BTech admissions now run through JoSAA using JEE (Advanced) ranks, announced on the official portal in January 2026. Registration and choice filling in JoSAA is mandatory for every qualified candidate seeking an IIT, IISc, NIT or IIIT seat.

For JEE Advanced 2027, no official exam date or organising institute has been announced yet. Under the Joint Admission Board's round-robin rotation, IIT Delhi is expected to conduct it, with the exam typically held in May and the date usually confirmed around December.
