Ind-SAT has been renamed PRAGATII (Performance Rating of Applicants through Global Aptitude Test for Indian Institutes) under the Ministry of Education's Study in India programme. The exam itself continues unchanged in structure and purpose — it is the entrance test used to shortlist international students for Study in India scholarships — but is now administered and referenced under the new name.
Study in India — PRAGATII Exam pageFor the 2026-27 academic year, the Study in India Portal (the single-window system through which Ind-SAT/PRAGATII-linked scholarship applications are routed) opened for registration on 1 January 2026, with the final application deadline of 15 June 2026 and selected-candidates' lists published 30 June 2026. As of late August 2026 this cycle's application window is already closed.
SVNIT official notice — Study in India Admission Schedule 2026-27PRAGATII (the renamed Ind-SAT) remains mandatory only for the full Study in India Scholarship, which covers tuition, hostel and mess charges; it is not required for tuition-only fee waivers, which are separately available across 164 participating institutes.
