What this means for your preparation
The single most useful thing to know about this post is that Natural Science is one composite paper, not three. Section B draws physics, chemistry and biology questions from the same 100-question block, with no choice of stream and no internal option. A candidate whose degree was a B.Sc. in Zoology or in Physics is qualified to apply but is prepared for roughly a third of the subject half. That structural point applies to no other DSSSB TGT subject.
One paper, three disciplines, no stream option
The Section B coverage reported for Natural Science runs across all three sciences at once. The physics side includes motion, gravitation, floatation, sound, light, effect of current and sources of energy. The chemistry side includes matter, the laws of chemical combination, periodic classification of elements, chemical substances, chemical reactions, metals and non-metals, and carbon compounds. The biology side includes life processes, reproduction, control and coordination, heredity and evolution, the human eye, tissues, diversity of living organisms, disease, natural resources and the environment, with conservation of natural resources and man-made materials also listed. All of it is examined in the same 100 questions, so a gap in one discipline is not something another can compensate for.
What a single-stream B.Sc. actually leaves uncovered
Most applicants hold a B.Sc. with a dominant subject rather than an even three-science spread. A botany or zoology graduate typically last studied numerical physics at class twelve and has not touched current electricity, optics or wave problems since; a physics graduate is usually weakest on the organic chemistry and the genetics and evolution material. On a 100-question composite block that is a plausible thirty-mark exposure. The correct response is not to revise the strong discipline harder but to bring the weakest one to a working standard first, because marks recovered there are cheaper than marks squeezed out of a discipline already near ceiling.
Natural Science cuts off higher than Mathematics
Against the 2022 cycle, the reported Natural Science cut-offs are, for female candidates, UR 123.06, OBC 112.24, SC 88.07 and ST 62.16, and for male candidates UR 108.15, OBC 70.50, SC 86.09 and ST 73.55. In the same cycle TGT Mathematics for female candidates cut at UR 102.77. An earlier cycle, dated 2018 by one source and 2021 by another, gives Natural Science male UR 80.96 and female UR 103.54. The female unreserved figure has repeatedly sat above the male one, and above 120 out of 200 in 2022, so clearing the 40 per cent qualifying minimum is not remotely the operative target.
A shortlist more than twice the vacancy count
For Post Code 806/24 the reported shortlist is 830 candidates against 354 vacancies, a ratio of about 2.3 to 1, wider than the roughly 1.4 to 1 cushion reported for TGT Mathematics under Post Code 803/24 in the same advertisement. A wide shortlist means the marks separating the last shortlisted candidate from the last appointed one are thinner than the result notice suggests, and that the document verification stage does real work. The e-dossier window for this post code ran from 3 to 17 June 2026; DSSSB has in a parallel post code rejected candidates outright for missing that window, with no provision for appeal.
Sequencing the composite block against the clock
Two hours for 200 questions averages 36 seconds each, and the science half contains the slowest items in the paper: numerical physics on motion, gravitation and current, and stoichiometric or reaction-based chemistry. Biology and the descriptive chemistry topics are the fastest. A workable order is to clear the biology and descriptive items in the subject block first, then the chemistry, and leave numerical physics last, so that slow questions cannot eat the time that fast marks were waiting in. With 0.25 negative marking, a question in a weak discipline narrowed to two options is worth attempting and one left at four is not.
