Five posts changes what a safe score means

Where a subject carries sixty-one posts the merit list runs deep and a score a few marks above the qualifying percentage can still be in contention at the reserved-category end. With three male and two female Physics posts there is no such depth: in several categories the requisition amounts to a single seat or none at all, and unreserved candidates are effectively competing for the top handful of scores in the state. Treat the 40 per cent qualifying threshold as a filter that removes people, not as an indication of the standard required, and set a target from the top of the distribution rather than from the bottom.

The 200-mark Physics section is post-graduate, not school level

Section B is written against the post-graduate qualification prescribed for the post, so the content sits at master's level rather than at the senior-secondary level the appointee will teach. The eligibility clause itself signals the level: a master's degree in the subject together with B.Ed. Read the post code, not the subject name

DSSSB issues its indicative syllabus and its result notices against a post code. Negative marking over 300 questions
