EMRS TGT Result and Cut-Off Marks: Tier-I Cut-offs, Tier-II and Merit

Checked 7 October 2026. Result status is as of the NESTS ESSE-2025 notice list on 7 October 2026 and changes as CBSE finalises more posts. NESTS publishes no Tier-II cut-off in the result notices (marks go to the candidate’s login); if it publishes cut-offs later, the 2023 pattern suggests a separate notice. The Tier-I cut-off table was read by eye from a 13-page scan and checked line by line against the page images.

As of 7 October 2026, NESTS had declared Tier-II results for 23 of the 25 TGT lines; TGT English and TGT Computer Science were not yet on the notice list. The results come as one-page notices, dated 9 September (14 regional languages), 10 September (Mathematics), 15 September (Librarian), 22 September (Music), 28 September (Art, Hindi, PET Female, PET Male) and 1 October (Science, Social Studies), each sending candidates to a login for their Tier-II marks and shortlisting status for document verification. No merit list or Tier-II cut-off was published in those notices. What is public is the Tier-I shortlisting cut-off table of 31 January 2026, whose category figures are below, and the final cut-offs of the 2023 TGT cycle for comparison. Sources: the ESSE-2025 notice page, the cut-off notice and the 2023 cut-off notice.

The Tier-I cut-off is not the selection cut-off

The table most pages call the EMRS TGT cut-off is the Tier-I score needed to be called for Tier-II (shortlisting at 1:10 against vacancies). It is not the score at which anyone was selected. A candidate above it was shortlisted; the final selection depends on Tier-II, where NESTS has not yet published a cut-off. The only comparable final-selection numbers are the 2023 cycle’s, below, and they belong to a different, single-stage pattern.

Results are only on the candidate’s login

Every Tier-II notice sends candidates to an NIC-hosted portal with their registration number and password. NESTS published no merit list, no roll-number list and no cut-off with these notices. On 10 June 2026 NESTS also warned that fake information about the Tier-II result was in circulation and asked candidates to rely on its website only. We print no candidate data and never will.

Tier-I shortlisting cut-offs, ESSE 2025: core subjects

These are the cut-off marks printed on 31 January 2026 for selection to Tier-II, one number per category. They have thirds because of the one-third negative marking. The notice does not print the maximum, but Parts I to V carry 100 marks and the bulletin says the language part is excluded, so we read the scale as out of 100 (our inference). Mathematics had the highest cut-off of the six in every category, and Hindi the lowest in every category except ST, where Computer Science was marginally lower (51.667 against 52).

Printed UR cut-offs from the 31 January 2026 notice, as printed (thirds appear because of negative marking).

How far below the unreserved cut-off the reserved ones fell is a simple measure of competition inside each line. By our arithmetic the OBC cut-off sat between 4.7 and 8.7 marks below UR, SC between 8.7 and 12.7 and ST between 11.0 and 19.3 (Computer Science). The table gives each gap.

Cut-offs for Music, Art, PET and Librarian

These lines show the widest spread. Librarian was close to the core subjects (UR 72.667), PET (Male) was moderate and PET (Female), Music and Art were low, with negative cut-offs in some categories. A negative figure can only mean that candidates with a net score below zero, after negative marking, were still shortlisted; our reading is that where few candidates applied against many posts, the line was effectively open.

Cut-offs for the 14 regional languages

Regional language lines are small, and the notice prints a 0 for most reserved cells: 52 of the 70 language and category cells (our count) are 0. Our reading is that a 0 means no minimum applied in that cell, in other words everyone in that category who appeared and qualified Part VI was shortlisted, because the shortlisting ratio of 1:10 against one or two posts was not binding. The notice does not explain the zeros, so treat that as inference. Where a UR figure above zero is printed, it ranges from 20.667 (Telugu) to 55 (Manipuri).

Where does my Tier-I score stand?

Pick the line you applied for, your category and your Tier-I score on Parts I to V (right minus one-third of wrong, out of 100). The tool compares it with the printed 2025 shortlisting cut-off.

The cut-offs are the printed 2025 Tier-I figures. PwBD columns are in the tables above, not in the tool, and the notice’s ex-servicemen rows are not reproduced here. A score above the cut-off meant a Tier-II call in 2025; it says nothing about the next cycle, whose cut-offs depend on that year’s field.

How merit is decided after Tier-II

For TGT the bulletin says the merit list is prepared on Tier-II performance only. To be considered at all a candidate needs 30% (General, OBC, EWS) or 25% (SC, ST, PwBD) of Tier-II marks. Candidates are then called for document verification in the ratio 1:3 against vacancies, and only the eligible ones form the panel, which the bulletin says is valid for two years from publication and is operated as vacancies arise. The 2023 cut-off notice adds the tie-break used then: equal marks are resolved in favour of the candidate senior in age. The 2025 bulletin states the date-of-birth tie-break for Principal only, so for TGT we treat it as likely, not confirmed.

The 2023 cycle: final cut-offs and what followed

In the 2023 TGT cycle NESTS published the marks of the last recommended candidate by category, which is the real selection cut-off. They were on a single exam of 120 objective marks plus a qualifying language test (the bulletin prints that structure; the cut-off notice does not print a maximum, so scale is our inference). The first notice is dated 15 May 2024 and a second set after the waitlist was released followed on 6 May 2025, nearly a year later, which shows both how long a panel stays alive and that candidates lower down can be called. Use the numbers as a sense of the scale of a final cut-off, not as a forecast for Tier-II.

Two points in the 2023 data. TGT Mathematics had the highest final cut-off (81.25 for UR) and TGT Science the lowest of the five core subjects (63.75), while PET (Female) was at 28.25 and fell to 9.75 after the waitlist. And after the waitlist the core-subject UR cut-offs were 1.5 to 3 marks lower (for example English 74.25 to 72.75), while Music and PET (Female) each fell by 18.5; lower cut-offs after a waitlist are what you would expect when selected candidates do not join. NESTS posted joining instructions on 3 June 2024 and a notice to report for joining on 1 August 2024; a notice on the ESSE-2023 page says no request to change the place of posting was being considered.

For your own planning, the stages and dates above answer most "when" questions: there is no promised date for the TGT document-verification schedule. Check the NESTS ESSE-2025 page directly, read the pattern guide for how Tier-II marks are earned, the eligibility guide for what verification will test, and the salary guide for what the job pays.

Has the EMRS TGT Tier-II result been declared?

For 23 of the 25 TGT lines by 7 October 2026: regional languages (9 Sep), Mathematics (10 Sep), Librarian (15 Sep), Music (22 Sep), Art, Hindi and both PET lines (28 Sep), Science and Social Studies (1 Oct). TGT English and Computer Science were not on the notice list.

Where do I see my EMRS TGT Tier-II result?

On the candidate login of the NIC result portal linked from the NESTS notice, using your registration number and password. NESTS published no merit list or roll-number list with the notices.

What is the EMRS TGT Tier-I cut-off?

It varies by line and category. For UR in 2025: Mathematics 76, Science 73.667, Social Studies 71.667, Computer Science 71, English 70.667, Hindi 63.333, Librarian 72.667. These shortlisted candidates for Tier-II; they are not final selection cut-offs.

Is there a Tier-II cut-off for EMRS TGT?

None published in the result notices we read. Merit is built from Tier-II marks, with a floor of 30% (General, OBC, EWS) or 25% (SC, ST, PwBD).

What was the final cut-off in the previous EMRS TGT recruitment?

In the 2023 cycle the last recommended UR candidate had 81.25 in Mathematics, 78.25 in Hindi, 74.25 in English, 72.75 in Social Studies and 63.75 in Science, on a single-stage exam with a different pattern.

What happens after the Tier-II result?

Document verification in the ratio 1:3 against vacancies, then a panel valid for two years, appointment and posting anywhere in India, and two years of probation. The schedule had not been notified on 7 October 2026.

Was a fake EMRS Tier-II result notice circulated?

Yes. NESTS issued a notice on 10 June 2026 saying information about the Tier-II result being circulated was fake and asking candidates to rely on the NESTS website only.
