CUET PG Syllabus: All 157 Paper Codes Mapped to the Official PDFs

Checked 6 October 2026. Links and contents are the CUET (PG) 2026 syllabus PDFs on exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/syllabus/, uploaded mostly on 13 December 2025. NTA can replace a PDF without notice (two PDFs carry later upload dates than the rest, in December 2025), so open the official link rather than a saved copy. A 2027 syllabus would replace this.

CUET PG has 157 question paper codes and NTA publishes one syllabus PDF for each. They are grouped on NTA's syllabus page under Common (22), Languages (41), Science (30), Humanities (26), M.Tech. / Higher Sciences (12) and Acharya (26). This page lists every code with its link, so you can go from your target programme to the exact PDF in one step. NTA's own notice for 2026 told candidates to use the syllabus currently on that page.

The 157 and the family counts are from NTA's syllabus page and Appendix II of the bulletin; the 137 is our check of the text layer of the PDFs.

ProSyllabus is an independent study site. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the National Testing Agency, the University Grants Commission or any university named here. Every rule below is quoted or summarised from their published documents, and the documents control if anything here differs.

Find your paper

Find a CUET PG syllabus PDF

Type part of a subject or a code (for example "econ", "COQP12" or "physics"). The list shows the matching papers with the link to NTA's official syllabus PDF for each. The same 157 links are in the tables below.

If you do not yet know your paper code, work backwards from the programme. Each participating university publishes a file that maps its programmes to codes (the university guide in this series shows how many universities use each code), and NTA warns that the same course can sit under different codes at different universities. Choose the code from the university's own file, then open its PDF below.

What every CUET PG syllabus PDF says first

Each PDF opens with the same note. The question paper will have 75 questions; all questions will be based on subject-specific knowledge; all questions are compulsory; and the questions will be bilingual (English and Hindi). We read the cover note in all 151 PDFs that have a text layer and every one says 75 questions. Six PDFs (Hindu Studies, Bengali, Bhutia, Kashmiri, Indo-Tibetan and Italian) are scanned images with no text we could read, so we make no claim about them beyond the fact that the link opens. The fourth line follows the medium rule of the bulletin: all 22 Common, 30 Science and 26 Humanities PDFs say the questions will be bilingual, and all 12 M.Tech. PDFs say the paper will be in English (our check of the readable files).

Upload dates in the file names155 on 13 Dec 2025, SCQP21 (MPT / MRT) on 17 Dec, SCQP09 on 20 Dec

That last row matters for one paper: the Computer Science and Information Technology syllabus (SCQP09) carries a later date than the rest, so it was uploaded or revised after the first batch. If you saved a copy of it in December, open the live PDF again.

The syllabi differ in size by a factor of twenty-five

The PDFs are not uniform documents. Counting the words in each text layer (our count, approximate, and only for the 137 with a real body), the Law (LLM) syllabus runs to about 7,100 words while the General Paper (COQP11) is about 280 and the General - Management paper (COQP12) about 210. A long syllabus is a list of everything a university course might teach; a short one is a list of topics. Neither tells you how many of the 75 questions come from each part: NTA publishes no section-wise question counts or marks in these PDFs.

The two general papers: COQP11 and COQP12, topic by topic

These two codes are used by the largest number of programmes, so their syllabi are the most useful to read closely. The General Paper (COQP11) has five headings: English and Hindi comprehension; general knowledge and awareness (13 listed topics: literature, history, Indian Constitution, personalities, sports, national and international economy, economics, science, politics, legal awareness, trade awareness, geography and culture); computer basics (16 listed topics); general aptitude with 24 listed topics from clocks and calendars to mixture and allegation; and logical reasoning with 18. The General - Management paper (COQP12) has four headings: English and comprehension, maths and quantitative ability, logical reasoning and data interpretation.

HeadingCOQP11 General PaperCOQP12 General - Management
English (and Hindi) comprehensionYes: 10 English items plus a Hindi listYes: the same 10 English items plus a Hindi list
General knowledge and awarenessYes: 13 topicsNot listed
Computer basicsYes: 16 topicsNot listed
Quantitative / general aptitudeYes: 24 topics (arithmetic, geometry, mensuration, permutations)Yes: 9 topics (partnership, interest, profit and loss, percentages, pipes, speed, trains, wages, work)
Logical reasoningYes: 18 topics, including analytical reasoningYes: 17 topics
Data interpretationNot listed as a headingYes: 9 topics (charts, data sufficiency, Venn diagrams)

The counts are our tally of the lines in each PDF. The practical reading is that COQP12 is a pure aptitude paper while COQP11 adds general awareness and computer basics and drops data interpretation. A candidate who needs both would be sitting two papers whose reasoning and English parts overlap almost completely, which is a good reason to prepare them together. The tracker below lists all 45 COQP12 topics exactly as the syllabus names them, with ticks saved only in your browser.

Subject papers: how the science and humanities syllabi are written

Subject syllabi read as topic lists drawn from the first two years of a bachelor's course. The Economics paper (COQP10) is organised under micro economics, macro economics, money and inflation, consumption and investment (including the Mundell-Fleming model, Harrod-Domar and Solow growth models), statistical methods, mathematical methods and Indian economy. The Political Science paper (HUQP18) opens with Western political philosophy from Plato to Rawls, Indian political thought from Ram Mohan Roy to Kautilya, political theory, international relations and Indian government and politics. The Computer Science paper (SCQP09) begins with reasoning and decision-making, then mathematics (sets, probability, algebra, coordinate geometry, calculus) and then computer topics such as operating systems, data structures and digital fundamentals.

Two points follow. First, several subject papers carry a general-ability component (the Computer Science PDF starts with thinking and decision making), so a candidate who studies only the subject core is leaving marks. Second, the Commerce paper (COQP08) is broad: its PDF lists around twenty areas from micro economics and currency and banking to cost accounting, company law, income tax law, auditing, marketing and business mathematics. It is the right paper for a commerce graduate and a hard one for anyone who skipped a topic family.

How to use a syllabus PDF without over-trusting it

Three habits make a syllabus useful. Read the PDF for your paper code, not for a similarly named paper: Hindu Studies, for instance, is evaluated under different codes by different universities, which is NTA's own example. Use it as a checklist of topic names, not a weighting, because none of the PDFs states how many questions come from which part. And re-open the official link before you finalise your plan, because two PDFs carry later upload dates than the first batch, which suggests NTA revised them after publication.

HabitReason
Match the code, not the nameSimilar courses are evaluated under different codes at different universities (NTA)
Treat the PDF as a topic listNo section-wise questions or marks are published in the syllabus PDFs
Re-open the official linkTwo PDFs carry later upload dates than the first batch (file names)
Read the bulletin for the mediumLanguage and Acharya PDFs follow their own language rules; the bulletin states them
Check the eligibility at the universityThe syllabus says what is tested; the university decides who may apply

Practise it, don't just read it

If your paper is COQP11 or COQP12, the English comprehension heading is the first on both syllabi. Start with a free ten-question passage quiz and see how you do on inference questions.

One free ten-question quiz is live for CUET PG today: Reading Comprehension Inference Questions. It practises the reading-comprehension skill that the General Paper (COQP11) and the General - Management paper (COQP12) both list under English. We have no subject-wise CUET PG quiz library, so treat it as a taster for that one skill, not as a way to prepare for a subject paper.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the official CUET PG syllabus?

On NTA's CUET (PG) syllabus page at exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/syllabus/, with one PDF for each of the 157 question paper codes, grouped by family. Every code is linked in the tables on this page.

Is the CUET PG syllabus the same for all universities?

The syllabus is set per question paper code, not per university. But which code a programme uses is the university's choice, and the same course can use different codes at different universities.

How many questions come from each topic?

NTA does not say. The syllabus PDFs we could read list topics only and carry no section-wise question counts or marks. Each paper is 75 questions in total.

What is in the CUET PG General Paper (COQP11)?

English and Hindi comprehension, general knowledge and awareness, computer basics, general aptitude and logical reasoning, per the PDF's five headings.

What is in COQP12, the General - Management paper?

English and comprehension, maths and quantitative ability, logical reasoning and data interpretation, per the PDF's four headings. It is the code listed by the most universities in our count.

Are the syllabus PDFs in English only?

Not always. Language and Acharya PDFs follow their own language, and several are scanned images. The Common, Science and Humanities PDFs are in English.

Can the syllabus change before the exam?

Two syllabus PDFs carry later upload dates than the rest (17 and 20 December 2025), so the live link is the one to trust. A 2027 syllabus has not been published yet.
