| Grouping in the notification | Sits with the non-academic-subject TGT posts alongside Music, Art Education and Physical and Health Education, each with its own qualification framework | Common academic qualification framework |
Work Experience is the only KVS TGT post whose entry qualification is an engineering degree. That single difference reshapes everything downstream: the applicant pool is engineering graduates who took a B.Ed., and the Tier-II subject paper is an electronics paper, not a school-subject paper.

The application window, both exam dates and the result mechanism are common to every post in CBSE Recruitment Notification 01/2025, across KVS and NVS. Only the Tier-II result phase is post-specific, and Work Experience fell in one of the earliest phases. The application window closed in three stages: 4 December 2025 as notified, extended to 11 December 2025 by the CBSE notice of 5 December, and reopened until 15 December 2025 by the CBSE notice of 13 December for candidates whom the KVS/NVS qualification mismatch had blocked, after Corrigendum-2 aligned the two sets of qualifications.
Most candidates come to this post from an engineering background and assume the Tier-II paper will be a general school-level work-education paper. It is not. The reported scope is an electrical and electronics engineering paper of degree standard. The other common error is the reverse: treating it as a full engineering examination, when the descriptive half rewards teaching-oriented explanation rather than derivation.
The notification's essential qualification for TGT (Work Experience) reads: a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognised institution or university with at least 50 per cent marks, plus a B.Ed. degree with at least 50 per cent marks from an NCTE-recognised institution, with knowledge of computer applications. A diploma is not enough, and an engineering degree in a mechanical, civil or computer branch does not meet the wording. This is the narrowest entry channel of any TGT post in the notification, and it is the reason the applicant field for 250 posts is far smaller than for an academic subject with a comparable vacancy count.
Coaching compilations for this paper, in the absence of an official CBSE topic list, converge on five blocks. First, circuit fundamentals: Ohm's law, resistive networks, Kirchhoff's laws, network theorems, passive elements, magnetism and transformers. Second, AC circuits, resonance, RC and RL time constants, filters, solid-state physics and the P-N junction. Third, special diodes including Zener, tunnel and varactor types, optoelectronics, rectification, regulated DC supplies and transistor characteristics. Fourth, single- and multistage amplifiers, the decibel scale, feedback, field-effect transistors, oscillators and modulation. Fifth, operational amplifiers, number systems, Boolean algebra, logic families, transducers and instruments such as the oscilloscope. Treat this as a reported scope, not an officially notified syllabus.
Tier-II runs 70 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes: 60 objective questions worth one mark each with 0.25 deducted for a wrong answer, and 10 descriptive questions worth 40 marks in total. For an electronics paper that split matters more than usual. The objective half rewards fast numerical work on circuit values, biasing and gain, where a calculation slip costs 1.25 marks against a blank. The descriptive half has no negative marking, so every one of the ten should carry an attempt. Well-labelled circuit diagrams and clean definitions of terms earn marks in a teaching-recruitment paper that a page of algebra does not.
The advertised 250 posts break down as 103 unreserved, 67 OBC non-creamy-layer, 37 SC, 25 EWS and 18 ST. With Tier-II shortlisting at roughly one in ten from Tier-I and interview shortlisting at about one in three against vacancies, the funnel is the same as every other post. The difference is upstream: the pool is limited to electrical and electronics graduates who also hold a B.Ed., a combination few people accumulate deliberately. Candidates who read the low competition as low difficulty tend to underprepare the digital electronics and operational-amplifier material, which sits at the end of the reported scope and is where descriptive questions are easiest to set.
TGT posts in Kendriya Vidyalayas sit at Level-7 of the pay matrix, Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400, with an upper age limit of 35 years for direct recruitment and the usual category relaxations. The Work Experience teacher's classroom is the work-education and pre-vocational component of the middle and secondary curriculum rather than a board-examined subject, which changes the teaching load and the nature of the interview, where 15 per cent of the final merit sits. The remaining 85 per cent comes from the Tier-II paper. Tier-I marks are discarded entirely once the Tier-II shortlist is drawn.
The notification requires a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognised institution or university with at least 50 per cent marks, together with a B.Ed. degree with at least 50 per cent marks from an NCTE-recognised institution, and knowledge of computer applications. No other engineering branch is listed in the qualification wording, and a diploma does not satisfy it. Verify the exact clause and any CTET requirement against the detailed notification before applying in a future cycle.
CBSE Recruitment Notification 01/2025 advertises 250 KVS TGT (Work Experience) posts. The category breakdown is 103 unreserved, 67 OBC non-creamy-layer, 37 SC, 25 EWS and 18 ST. These sit inside a combined KVS and NVS advertisement of 14,967 vacancies across teaching, promotional and non-teaching posts, notified on 13 November 2025 and conducted by CBSE on behalf of both bodies.
Yes. Careers360 reported on 20 August 2026 that CBSE had declared the Tier-II result for TGT (Work Experience), in the same phase as PGT (Economics) and PGT (History). Results are viewed through the candidate login on examinationservices.nic.in. Shortlisted candidates are then required to exercise their posting preference through the application portal, and interview call letters are placed in the same login once the schedule is settled with KVS and NVS.
CBSE's published Tier-II syllabus document covers the PGT subjects and the promotional posts and does not include TGT Work Experience. Coaching compilations describe an electrical and electronics scope in five units: circuit fundamentals and network theorems; AC circuits, resonance, filters and the P-N junction; special diodes, power supplies and transistors; amplifiers, field-effect transistors, oscillators and modulation; and operational amplifiers, number systems, logic families and instruments. That is a reported scope, not an official syllabus.
The applicant pool is much smaller, because it is restricted to electrical and electronics graduates who also hold a B.Ed. But the paper itself is a degree-standard electronics paper, not a school-subject paper, and the selection funnel is identical: Tier-II shortlisting at roughly one in ten from Tier-I, interview shortlisting at about one in three against the 250 vacancies, and a final merit list weighted 85 per cent to Tier-II and 15 per cent to the interview.
In the notification, TGT (Music), TGT (Art Education) and TGT (Physical and Health Education) are handled under qualification frameworks distinct from the academic TGT subjects, and Work Experience likewise departs from the academic pattern by requiring an engineering degree. The four are the non-academic-subject teaching posts in a Kendriya Vidyalaya. They share that character but not their qualifications: the engineering-degree requirement applies to Work Experience alone.
