DSSSB's published scheme provides both a one-tier and a two-tier route depending on the post, and the current teaching advertisements use the one-tier (teaching) pattern: a single computer-based test in which the graduate-level subject paper is the 100-mark Section B. Some coaching portals describe a Tier I screening plus a 200-mark Tier II subject test for TGT; the advertisements in the live cycle do not use that structure, so read the scheme clause of the notice you are applying against.

DSSSB schedules by post code rather than by exam name, publishing a consolidated notification of online examination for a block of months and confirming the individual sitting on the e-admit card. Any TGT exam date circulating before that notice should be treated as unconfirmed.

Candidates most often misjudge how much of the trained-graduate paper is actually their subject. Section B is 100 of 200 marks, and it is not pure subject content: the advertisement wording is subject concerned with teaching methodology, so B.Ed material sits inside the subject half. The other frequent error is assuming DSSSB runs one TGT recruitment. It runs many, post code by post code, each with its own merit list.

Section A carries 100 marks split evenly across general awareness, reasoning and general intelligence, arithmetical and numerical ability, Hindi language and English language, at 20 marks each. Section B carries the remaining 100 marks on the subject concerned together with teaching methodology. The whole paper is 200 multiple-choice questions in two hours with 0.25 deducted per wrong answer. The consequence is arithmetical: a candidate who is outstanding in the subject but neglects Section A caps their achievable score at around 100 plus whatever they scrape from the general half, which in a competitive post code is not enough. Section A is also the cheaper half to improve, because its syllabus is finite and repeats across DSSSB papers, while the subject half is graduate-level and open-ended.

DSSSB advertises each teaching vacancy against a post code that encodes the subject, the gender category where the post is gender-specific and the employing department. Advertisement No. 03/2026 uses 41/26 for TGT Computer Science with 675 posts, 42/26 for Domestic Science Teacher with 129 and 43/26 for TGT Special Education with 163. Earlier cycles used 806/24 for TGT Natural Science and 807/24 for TGT Hindi. Cut-offs, results, reservation rosters and even court stays attach to the post code, not to the subject in the abstract, which is why two candidates in the same subject in different years face entirely different merit thresholds. Applications, admit cards and result notices should all be tracked by the post code printed on the application.

DSSSB recruits on requisition for a range of Delhi school managements rather than for a single employer. The teaching post codes in Advertisement No. 03/2026 all sit under the Directorate of Education, but the board's primary-teacher advertisement in the same period split posts between the Directorate of Education and the New Delhi Municipal Council, and municipal corporation and cantonment board schools raise their own requisitions. For a trained-graduate candidate that means the volume of posts in a given subject is not fixed by one notice: a subject may appear under one management this year and another next, with separate vacancy counts and separate merit lists even where the written paper is identical.

Testbook states that a CTET pass conducted by CBSE is mandatory for TGT posts, and Advertisement No. 03/2026 specifies CTET at the elementary level for the special-education post code. Paper II of CTET is the elementary-stage paper corresponding to classes VI to VIII, which is the stage a trained graduate teacher serves. The certificate must be in hand by the crucial date; producing it later does not save an application. It contributes nothing to the DSSSB merit list, so effort spent pushing a CTET score higher is effort not spent on the DSSSB paper. Its real value is overlap: the pedagogy portion of CTET Paper II maps onto the teaching-methodology component inside Section B, so the two revisions reinforce each other.

The Advertisement 03/2026 window closed on 15 July 2026 and no examination date has been notified for its post codes, so candidates are waiting on the board's next notification of online examination. Meanwhile DSSSB is still discharging the earlier backlog. Testbook reports results issued in phases from April to June 2026 across roughly 2,375 vacancies, including TGT Hindi under 807/24 with marks and 830 candidates shortlisted for e-dossier upload against TGT Natural Science 806/24, with about 18 post codes outstanding in mid-May and six delayed by litigation. Qualified candidates are called for e-dossier submission and document verification rather than an interview, so keeping certificates scanned and ready shortens that step considerably.
