What a 20-minute call covers

  • Deciding whether CAT, GMAT or a later MBA application best fits your career stage and target schools
  • Turning work experience into a clear business-school, leadership or career-transition narrative
  • Evaluating a move into consumer technology, marketplaces, digital commerce, product, growth or business operations
  • Thinking through the first practical decisions of building a company: problem, customer, early test, distribution and operating rhythm
  • Choosing between a startup, a larger company, an MBA or a founder path without treating any one route as universally better
  • Discussing growth, partnerships and operating-model questions for mission-led or Section 8 organisations

One focused conversation, not a course. If you need ongoing coaching, say so on the call and Rahul will tell you honestly whether Rahul is the right person for it.

  • ?Should I choose CAT, GMAT or wait until I have more work experience?
  • ?How should I assess whether an MBA is worth it for my career goals?
  • ?How can I prepare for a business-school interview using my real work experience?
  • ?What skills should I build to move into product, growth, strategy or operations?
  • ?How do I decide whether to join an early-stage company, a large company or build my own?
  • ?How can I turn a business idea into a small, testable first version?
  • ?What should a first-time founder focus on before trying to scale?
  • ?How should a mission-led or Section 8 organisation think about its operating model and partnerships?
  • ?How can I move from a functional role into broader business leadership?
  • ?How should I build a credible career narrative for an MBA or a business transition?

Rahul Vij builds and scales technology-led consumer, marketplace and digital-commerce businesses. He is currently Co-Founder at brihas.ai, working on AI for navigating modern life. Before that he was Chief Operating Officer at DigiHaat, Vice President, Business at ONDC, and Vice President at magicpin. His earlier career includes leadership roles at Reckitt, Amazon Wholesale India, PepsiCo and Nielsen. Rahul holds a PGDM in Marketing from SPJIMR and a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. He is well placed to discuss MBA timing, CAT or GMAT choices, building a career in consumer and technology businesses, and the early operating decisions involved in creating a company.

CAT, GMAT and MBA decisions

Use a conversation grounded in SPJIMR and a career across Amazon, Reckitt, marketplaces and technology businesses to decide what an MBA should unlock for you.

  • Choose CAT, GMAT, or a later application based on the role, geography, experience and school you want
  • Assess MBA return on investment against staying in role, changing companies or building skills on the job
  • Turn your work experience into a credible application, interview and post-MBA career story
  • Map the roles you want in product, growth, strategy, sales, operations or general management

Building companies and mission-led organisations

A practical discussion for people considering a startup, consumer product, marketplace or mission-led venture—focused on operating and growth decisions, not legal or compliance advice.

  • Clarify the customer problem, first test and learning loop before committing heavily to a solution
  • Think through early distribution, partnerships, unit of work and the operating habits a small team needs
  • Choose an early career move that builds useful founder, product, commercial or leadership experience
  • Discuss operating-model and partnership questions for Section 8 or mission-led organisations
