In the NHRA documents we read, the only guide to the nursing exam's content is a list of nine reference books; NHRA says the list is a study guide only and that questions may come from other sources too. The four areas are our choice, guided by the subjects of those books; NHRA publishes no content outline and does not say how the exam divides between subjects, and the share of each area in a mock is ours too. Each question has one correct answer, and no question turns on a drug dose or on a rule that differs from one hospital or country to another.

Not practised here

  • children's nursing, mental health nursing and nursing management, which NHRA's reference list does not name
  • drug dose calculations and local hospital policies
  • the midwifery and ambulance nurse exams, which have their own NHRA reference lists

What you see after every mock

  • Your score out of 100 and your score in each area, so you can see which area costs you the most marks.
  • Your time per question, against a clock of 2.5 hours for 100 questions.
  • The reason behind every answer, with the nursing principle it rests on.

A score here is your score on our questions. It is not an NHRA exam result and does not predict one.

The exam, as NHRA and Prometric describe it

  • NHRA's nursing qualification requirements say every nursing applicant must pass the Bahrain Nursing Licensure Examination to get a licence. Only Bahraini or GCC nationals holding a valid GCC licence are exempt. The same document lists UAE (DHA and HAAD), Qatar and Oman Prometric "Registered Nurse" results and the Saudi "Nurse Specialist" result as accepted.
  • You apply to NHRA first. Once your application is approved, NHRA sends an eligibility code, and you use it to book the exam with Prometric.
  • Prometric gives a seating time of 3 hours, with 2.5 hours of actual exam time.
  • NHRA's guide sets the pass mark for nursing at 50%. Prometric's page says 60% for all Bahrain licensure exams, so check with NHRA before you sit.
  • NHRA allows four attempts within three years of the first, and a pass is valid for five years. Its rules on further attempts after retraining are set out in its licensure-examination guide and nursing qualification requirements.

Are these the real NHRA exam questions?

No. Every question is our own, written on general nursing knowledge. None comes from the real exam, from NHRA or from Prometric.

Is this made or recommended by NHRA or Prometric?

No. It is independent practice by ProSyllabus.

How many questions are in the real exam?

NHRA and Prometric do not publish a question count. Our mocks have 100 questions in the 2.5 hours of exam time Prometric gives; the count is our choice.

Will this make me pass?

We do not claim that it will. It gives you timed practice in the published exam time, your score by area on our questions and the reason behind every answer, so you can see where to revise.

What do I get?

2 mocks of 100 questions with a 2.5-hour clock, in the full test player with a question palette and mark for review. After each mock: your score by area, your time per question and the explanation of every answer. Retake either mock as often as you like.

How do I pay and get access?

One payment by card (or PayPal where offered), handled by our payment provider. In the United States the price is charged in dollars, in the United Kingdom in pounds and in the euro area in euros; elsewhere in your own currency where we support it, otherwise in Indian rupees with the local figure shown as an estimate.
