Checked 6 October 2026. Dates are those of the NCET 2026 notices (12 February to 4 June 2026), NTA's 2025 bulletin, notices and press release (Wayback copies), and the 2024 bulletin. NTA had posted nothing for 2027 when we checked on 6 October 2026. The 2024 exam is shown as scheduled in its bulletin; we did not verify the date it was actually held. A new bulletin replaces every projection here.
NCET 2027 has no announced date. The last cycle, NCET 2026, opened for applications on 12 February 2026, was held on 17 and 18 April 2026 and had its result on 4 June 2026. Those dates come from NTA's own public notices, which this page links. Below is every milestone of the 2024, 2025 and 2026 cycles in one table, the fee and the documents NTA asked for, the correction window, how the 2026 plan changed from one exam day to two, and a tool that shows what the 2026 spacing would give if a window opened on a date you choose. Nothing in the tool is an NTA date.
All four figures are printed in the NCET 2026 bulletin and notices. The three fee amounts are the base fee; the bulletin adds that processing charges and GST are charged by the payment gateway on top.

Nothing for NCET 2027 has been announced: when we checked the NTA portal on 6 October 2026 its newest public notice was the result notice of 4 June 2026, and no 2027 bulletin, fee or date was posted. Every 2027 line on this page is a projection and says so.
What NTA has and has not published for 2027
The official portal is exams.nta.nic.in/ncet. Its "Public Notices" list ends with the result notice of 4 June 2026, and its links still point to the 2026 information bulletin, the 2026 syllabus page, the 2026 list of universities and the 2026 eligibility sheet. The syllabus page is titled "NCET-2026 Syllabus" and carries a footer saying it was last updated on 23 September 2026; that is a page edit, not a 2027 syllabus, and we found no 2027 bulletin, fee table or schedule anywhere on the portal or on NCTE's ITEP page.
One practical warning: the 2024 bulletin sends candidates to ncet.samarth.ac.in. That address no longer resolves, and the exams.nta.ac.in/NCET page used for 2025 answered "content not found" when we checked. The 2026 documents use exams.nta.nic.in/ncet. If a page or a message points you to a different address for registration or fees, treat it as unofficial until the same link appears on the NTA portal.
Three cycles side by side
The table puts the official dates of the three bulletins together. A date marked "plan" is what the bulletin said it would do; where NTA later issued a notice, the notice date is used instead. The 2024 column is the 2024 bulletin only, because we did not find a later NTA document for that cycle in our research set.
| Milestone | NCET 2024 | NCET 2025 | NCET 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Application window opens | 13 Apr 2024 | 20 Feb 2025 | 12 Feb 2026 |
| Application form closes | 30 Apr 2024 | 16 Mar 2025 | 10 Mar 2026 |
| Last date for the fee | 30 Apr 2024 | 16 Mar 2025 | 11 Mar 2026 |
| Correction window | 2 to 4 May 2024 (plan) | 18 to 19 Mar 2025 (plan) | 12 to 14 Mar 2026 (public notice) |

| Admit card | 3 days before the exam (plan) | 3 or 4 days before the exam (plan) | 13 Apr 2026 |
| Exam | 12 Jun 2024 in the bulletin; news reports and an older blog of ours give 10 Jul 2024 as the day it was held, which we could not confirm from an NTA notice | 29 Apr 2025, two shifts | 17 and 18 Apr 2026, three shifts |
| Provisional key and challenge | Not in our research set | 20 to 22 May 2025 | 28 to 30 Apr 2026 |
| Final answer key | Not in our research set | 13 Jun 2025 | 4 Jun 2026 |
| Result and NTA scores | Not in our research set | 16 Jun 2025 | 4 Jun 2026 |
| Registered and appeared | Not found | 54,470 and 44,927 | 73,608 and 58,995 |
| Cities and question-paper mediums | Not found | 155 cities, 13 mediums | 145 cities, 13 mediums |
| Fee: General, OBC-NCL or EWS, SC/ST/PwBD/third gender | Rs 1,200, 1,000, 650 | Rs 1,200, 1,000, 650 | Rs 1,200, 1,000, 650 |
Reading across, three things stand out. The window opened earlier every cycle: 13 April, then 20 February, then 12 February. The exam moved from a scheduled 12 June, to 29 April, to 17 April. And the fee has not moved: the General fee is Rs 1,200, OBC-NCL and EWS Rs 1,000, and SC, ST, PwBD and third-gender candidates Rs 650 in all three bulletins. Registered candidates grew from 54,470 to 73,608 between 2025 and 2026, which is 35.1 per cent more (our division); those who appeared grew 31.3 per cent, from 44,927 to 58,995.
Our subtraction of the dates in the table above. The 2026 exam gap counts to the first exam day, 17 April. The 2024 row stops at the scheduled exam because no 2024 result date is in our research set.
The spacing is steadier than the dates. From the first exam day to the result NTA took 48 days in 2025 (29 April to 16 June) and 48 days in 2026 (17 April to 4 June). The city intimation slip came 8 days before the exam in both years (21 April before 29 April, and 9 April before 17 April). From the window opening to the exam the gaps were 60 days (2024, scheduled), 68 (2025) and 64 (2026). These gaps are our arithmetic on three data points. They describe what NTA did; they do not promise what it will do next.
How the 2026 cycle actually ran
The notice of 12 February 2026 opened applications and named the exam as 17 April 2026 (Friday), "tentative", adding that the date was "subject to change based on the declaration of the election schedule". The bulletin repeated that, and said NTA was "planning to do the NCET 2026 examination in a single shift". That plan did not survive. NTA's notice of 9 April says "one additional shift has been added on 18th April 2026", so the exam ran in three shifts. The shift table in the notice is below; its printed Shift-2 time reads "03:00 AM To 06:00 PM", which is evidently a typo for 3 to 6 in the afternoon.
| Date | Shift | Time printed in the notice |
|---|---|---|
| 17 April 2026 | Shift 1 | 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM |
| 17 April 2026 | Shift 2 | 03:00 AM To 06:00 PM (a typo; afternoon is the evident reading) |
| 18 April 2026 | Shift 1 (the added shift) | 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM |
The rest followed the order in the table. On 12 March NTA opened a one-time correction window from 12 to 14 March (up to 11:50 PM) and said the list of institutions approved by NCTE for ITEP "has been increased from 223 to 284", so applicants could change their choice of institution and course. The city intimation slip came on 9 April and the admit card on 13 April, four days before the first exam day. After the exam NTA displayed the provisional answer keys and each candidate's recorded responses on 28 April and took challenges until 30 April at Rs 200 per question. The result notice of 4 June reports 73,608 registered and 58,995 appeared, an attendance of 80.14 per cent as printed (our division gives 80.15).
The result notice also says NCET 2026 offered 66 subjects (38 languages, 26 domain-specific subjects, Teaching Aptitude and the General Test), used 141 unique question papers and 982 question papers in all, counting 13 languages and 22,929 questions. NTA gives no reason for the extra shift beyond "unavoidable circumstances", but the size of the paper set shows how many papers had to be placed in three shifts. The pattern itself is explained in the pattern and syllabus guide.
Registration: the fee, the uploads and the rules
Applications are online only, on the NTA portal, in four steps: register and note the application number, fill in the form and upload images, pay the fee, and download the confirmation page. The bulletin is firm on several points. Only one application is allowed per candidate, and multiple forms lead to cancellation of the result. A mobile number and e-mail address can be used for only one application form, and the bulletin advises using your own or a parent's. The fee can be paid only by net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI, and the bulletin states that no refund request will be entertained after the fee is remitted.
| Category | Base fee |
|---|---|
| General (UR) | Rs 1,200 |
| OBC-NCL (central list) or EWS | Rs 1,000 |
| SC, ST, PwD/PwBD or third gender | Rs 650 |
The bulletin adds that "state list OBC candidates who are not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General/Unreserved". Processing charges and GST are chargeable on top of the base fee by the bank or payment gateway. The upload sizes below are from the 2026 bulletin.
| Upload | Format |
|---|---|
| Photograph | JPG or JPEG, 10 KB to 200 KB, recent, colour, 80% of the face visible including ears, white background; a live photo is also captured by webcam or by scanning a QR code on a phone |
| Signature | JPG or JPEG, 10 KB to 50 KB, clearly legible |
| Disability or UDID certificate | PDF, 50 KB to 300 KB; UDID details are verified on the government portal |
| Identity proof (only if not verifying with Aadhaar or DigiLocker) | JPG or JPEG, 10 KB to 200 KB |
The one-time correction window
Corrections in 2026 were allowed once, from 12 to 14 March, and the notice says "no further opportunity for correction will be given". The fields that could and could not change are in the annexure to the notice, and they matter more than they look: the correction window was also the only chance to add or edit your subjects and institutions, and the notice tied that to the list having grown to 284. If an extra fee applied, it had to be paid for the correction to take effect.
| Fields | What the 2026 notice allowed |
|---|---|
| Mobile number, e-mail address, permanent and present address, photograph | Cannot be changed |
| Candidate name, father's name, mother's name | Any one of the three can be changed |
| Class 10 and Class 12 details | All can be changed |
| Examination city and medium of the exam | Can be changed within your permanent or present address; NTA is not bound to follow your choice |
| Date of birth, gender, category, sub-category or PwBD status (if not verified by UDID), signature | All can be changed |
| Subject or test paper, and university, programme or course | Can be added or edited |
| Aadhaar details (only for candidates who registered with another identity) | Can be changed |
After the exam: challenge, result and score card
NTA shows the provisional keys and the question paper with recorded responses for "two to three days", according to the bulletin, and takes paid challenges only through the portal link. In 2026 that window was 28 to 30 April. The bulletin says challenges without justification, or filed any other way, are not considered, that NTA does not tell candidates individually whether a challenge was accepted, and that after the result no grievance about the keys is entertained. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking of the result. The score card is downloaded from the portal; the bulletin says documents such as the confirmation page, admit card and score card will not be available from NTA after 90 days of the result, so download and keep copies. The NTA score of a cycle is valid for admission in that academic year only.
Where other pages get this wrong
NCET 2026 was held on 17 and 18 April 2026, and its result came on 4 June 2026. It was not an April-registration, June-exam cycle.
Commonly published instead: A registration window in April or May and an exam in June, or a single exam day.
Guides written before the 2026 notification projected an April opening and a June exam, partly because the 2024 cycle ran that way. The official notices say otherwise: the window opened on 12 February, the exam was on 17 and 18 April in three shifts, and the result came on 4 June. Check any date you read against the notice linked in the sources.
Project a calendar from a past cycle
The tool is arithmetic on two completed cycles. If a 2027 window opened on the same day of the year as 2026's, the 2026 spacing would put the form closing 26 days later, the exam 64 days after opening and the result 112 days after opening. NTA's real calendar can differ: the exam date has to fit board examinations, other national tests and, as 2026 showed, elections. Use the output to plan your preparation window, not to book anything.
What to prepare before a notification appears
These steps are our suggestions, not NTA instructions. Each one is something the 2026 documents showed could cost a candidate time. First, have scanned images ready in the sizes above, and a PDF of any disability certificate. Second, decide whose mobile number and e-mail you will use, because they cannot be changed in the correction window and one number or address serves only one form. Third, collect the Class 10 and Class 12 certificates and, if you will claim a category, an OBC-NCL certificate from the central list or an EWS certificate in your own name. Fourth, learn which three domain subjects your target institutions map to NCET before you apply, because the application is where you choose them; the institutions and eligibility guide shows how the rules differ by institution. Fifth, read the bulletin chapter on the pattern so the form's subject list makes sense when you see it.
| If the window opens | Do first | Why (from the 2026 documents) |
|---|---|---|
| In the first week | Register, save the application number and password, and pay the fee | The confirmation page appears only after the fee succeeds, and the fee is not refunded |
| Before the form closes | Check every field twice | Several fields could never be corrected, and only one correction window was given |
| Between closing and the exam | Watch the portal for the city slip and admit card | The slip came 8 days and the admit card 4 days before the first exam day |
| After the exam | Download your recorded responses, check the provisional key, decide on challenges | The challenge window was three days and cost Rs 200 per question |
Frequently asked questions
When is the NCET 2027 exam date?
Not announced. When we checked the NTA portal on 6 October 2026 its newest notice was the NCET 2026 result of 4 June 2026, and no 2027 bulletin or schedule was posted. NCET 2026 was held on 17 and 18 April 2026.
When will NCET registration start?
No date has been announced. The last three windows opened on 13 April 2024, 20 February 2025 and 12 February 2026, so each opened earlier than the one before. That is a record of what happened, not a prediction.
What is the NCET application fee?
In 2026 it was Rs 1,200 for General candidates, Rs 1,000 for OBC-NCL and EWS, and Rs 650 for SC, ST, PwD or PwBD and third-gender candidates, plus processing charges and GST. The same base fees were printed in the 2024 and 2025 bulletins.
What was the last date to apply for NCET 2026?
The online form closed on 10 March 2026 at 11:50 PM and the last date for a successful fee transaction was 11 March 2026. A one-time correction window ran from 12 to 14 March 2026.
How long after the exam does the NCET result come?
In 2025 the result came 48 days after the exam (29 April to 16 June) and in 2026 it came 48 days after the first exam day (17 April to 4 June). The gap is our subtraction of the official dates.
What is the official NCET website?
exams.nta.nic.in/ncet. The older address ncet.samarth.ac.in, still named in the 2024 bulletin, did not resolve when we checked. NCTE also lists the NCET documents on its ITEP page.
Can I correct my NCET application form?
In 2026 there was one correction window, 12 to 14 March, and no second chance. Mobile number, e-mail, address and photograph could not be changed; name, class 10 and 12 details, city, medium, date of birth, category, signature, subjects and institution choices could, with an extra fee where applicable.
